Just what I needed

I enjoyed the book. Not too long and to the point. I will listen to it over and over.

Not what I was looking for but God still spoke !

I was not expecting, this as a book for beginners. I have been an active Christian for a long time. I was really wanting something that was much more in-depth. Something that was for long-time Christians if that makes sense. I found that this was for beginners and for me it's very difficult to get into. As I continue to listen God still spoke to me I still learned. My view did change some the book went from a 2 star to a 4 star. It ended up being a good book. I have a hard time listening to Stormie talk however I understand why she was the one telling the stories.

When you are in need!

I loved it, but it was over to soon.

J. Krishnamurti was a genius.

Krishnamurti approaches everything with a sense of great humility and thus, in my opinion, incredible poise and nobility. The only complaint I could imagine anyone having is that he analyzes his points to the nth degree and sometimes seems to lose focus; however, if you listen to his talks/lessons in full, hopefully you will see that they all seem to swing off-topic in his analysis but that they reconvene at a point near the beginning of the lecture and illumine his thoughts all the more.

An absolute magnificent

Another masterpiece from the legendary J Krishnamurti, what an inspiration of a man. Great audio.

Incredible and credible clarity of thought.

It is easy to get lost in perceptions, Krishnamurti gives us signposts to freedom from life's usual entrapments

Excellent Psychic Development Audio Book

I've taken several Psychic Development Classes and this is an excellent alternative and/or additional practice to going to a seminar. It has very good meditations a beginner to intermediate can use. I like going to actual classes, yes, but an audio book with lots of excellent exercises is great because it can be played over and over again.

John Edwards also covers numerology, scrying, psychometry, tarot cards etc. This audio book is packed with practical, invaluable information.

What A Wonderful Book

For years I have read almost anything and everything regarding spirituality and the meta-physical realm. This is one of the two best books I have ever encountered. This takes you on a journey into the meta-physical. John uses humor and clear examples to get the idea across to the reader (and/or listener). He first explains the ideas and points of each section and then gives you exercises and meditations to implement and practice each of these. I have been able with this book to boost my own psychic abilities and use these gifts to help others. I just say a special thank you to John for sharing his gifts and lessons with us.

Great Information, Could Have Been Better

John Edwards spends a lot of time giving listeners a lot of great information along with funny anecdotes, suggestions, recommendations, and brief overviews of many different psychic modalities. In this, he was very very good and I thoroghly enjoyed it! What I did not enjoy, what kept me from giving 5 stars was the quality of the audio (I heard him turning pages throughout as well as someone speaking in the background) and his lightening speed as he led the listener through guided meditations. John, meditations are supposed to be relaxed, the person should feel softly led from visualization to visualization. I felt like I was being pulled out of each scenario before I could grasp it, like I had been given too much caffeine.

Had the audio quality been better, less talking in the background (this wasn't a speech, it was an audiobook) and slower guided meditations, it would have garnered 5 stars from me.

As for Developing my own Psychic Powers...don't expect miracles. The audiobook gives some good pointers, suggestions, and had the guided meditations been better perhaps yes. I found that taking his original suggestions in the meditation to meet your spirit guide and then using those in my own personal meditation I was able to do it better. But I do still give him all thanks for giving me those images in the first place. Very helpful and enjoyable tool.

EXCELLENT!

Wonderful series for meditation, chakras and psychic development. Practical useful applications for any level and some "real world" advice regarding this. Presented in a spiritual pursuit without any religious bias. The series will change your life if used correctly.

Good place to begin

I read this in an unabridged CD format. Starhawk narrates the audiobook in a calm, clear voice starting with a brief history of Wicca and outlining its structure, belief system, holidays, the importance of the moon cycles, the God and Goddess concept, the cycles of life and nature, and then briefly describes the ritual and tools a witch uses. She then moves along to active practice leading the listener through a grounding session which incorporates slow, yogic breathing to calm the mind of busy thoughts which gently leads one into a meditative state necessary for successful ritual work. The recording ends with a step-by-step ritual.

This is a good place to start for anyone interested in learning what Wicca is all about. However there is a lot of information packed into the first section that only briefly touches on subjects that will require further reading for anyone seriously interested in practicing Wicca. That?s not really a complaint as there are so many aspects of Wicca that they could never properly be detailed in one tome (well, it may be possible but the thing would weigh several tons and be impossible to lug around!). Still, I do wish this audio were longer than a little over one hour as I very much enjoyed Starhawk's narration and her informative writing skills.

Excellent

This is an excellent introduction to Wicca. It is inspiring and interesting. The author is amazing and is able to explain things with clarity, wit and profundity. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who might be interested or even just curious about this subject.

Okay for an introduction

I've been out of the broom closet for a while and enjoy listening to/reading about different paths and pagan styles. The conversational quality of the book makes it easy to listen to and not loss interest. The meditation exercise is a great information and advice for centering ones self. The only thing I didn't like was the very feminist tone of the book, but I do take into account the author and their beliefs. The male aspect is discussed, but very briefly, that is the only thing I didn't like. There was no male or other religion bashing, and the tone is very open and inviting. A great example of an open, welcoming introduction to one of the many pagan paths.

Treat yourself to a great teacher of Wicca. Starhawk has many years of experience to draw from, and her understanding and teaching of this ancient religion is unprecedented.

Stephen Levine is Awesome

Although the kind of information contained in these tapes can be found elsewhere, the particular presentation given (as lecture with questions/participation from the audience) for me is quite moving. These are the kind of tapes that can make you cry, and might teach you how to drive and cry at the same time. These are the kind of tapes that you can listen to again and again, at different times and throughout the years of your life - and still get something from; that you perhaps didnt need to hear at an earlier listening. These are the kind of tapes that I'd have buried with me when I die, because wherever it is that I'd be going then, I'd want to have this information, in the way it is presented, with me. These are the kind of tapes that can change your life, or at least profoundly effect the general direction you are headed in. I think at one time I sat and typed out word for word the entire content of the first of these two tapes, because I wanted to study what is said with that degree of focus, that degree of attention. Then the kids wrecked the first tape and I have gone for several years with only the second in my audio tape collection, until a friend recently lent this set to me - and, true to form - I was still amazed at what I was able to clarify within my own personal understanding, by hearing this material again, at my present point on the path. Although the material presented is over 10 years old, it is still at the cutting-edge of where many people, bored and frustrated with "consumer" or "mass-market" level spirituality, long to be in their own personal journey.
