    Publisher's Summary:
The much anticipated follow up to the New York Times best-seller Hush, Hush.
Nora should have known her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described as anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away, and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.
The farther Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl.
Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?
    Members Reviews:
    Sophomore success
Nora's character is so damn nosy! It makes for a great story, but i am just shaking my head the whole time.
Really? You're going to trespass again? or No, people just hide things because it is fun, they don't need their privacy or anything. [<--- I should mention that sarcasm font would've been helpful right then]
I cringe thinking about all the crazy things girls do, especially after a break-up. I really enjoyed this sequel. Patch continued to be a mystery even though in Hush,Hush we saw a kinder side to him. Usually once the bad boy has reformed he loses his bad boy tendencies, but this character keeps his and i loved it.
I don't want to give too much away, but i will say that the mystery in this book was great. The story branched off in multiple tangent mysteries, but by the end it all came together nicely. I am not sure i liked the ending though. C'mon a cliffhanger! That is just cruel. If you hate cliffhangers you may want to wait a year so at least you'll have book 3 to read right after.
    Narrator:
I could've sworn this narrator had a better Irish accent in Hush, Hush. This time it sounded strange. Other than that she was entertaining and kept the story going on a nice pace. I enjoyed her.
    ARG!
Would you try another book from Becca Fitzpatrick and/or Caitlin Greer?
Yes, I am contemplating buying the third book in the series. The Narrator did a good job. The story about drove me mad. Nora Grey (the main character) basically screws everything up, her back and forth character in emotional stubbornness is the reason for %99 of the problems. I had a real challenge trying to finish this book because %75 percent of the book was her own thoughts of what was happening serious schizophrenia. I had to fast forward it a few times, if it wasn't for my Daughter edging me on to finish I would have broke my iPhone and felt good about it (LOL). If you are more left brain, you will not be able to read this book.
Would you ever listen to anything by Becca Fitzpatrick again?
Like I said, I am going to buy the third book in this series and pray it is not like this one.

Timely and inspiring,Hero tackles love, friendship, and the struggle to come to terms with who we really are in a sincere and suspenseful way.
This audiobook includes an exclusive introduction written and read by Stan Lee himself.
    Editorial Reviews:
No one on earth has anything negative to say about this book, so the challenging part of reviewing Perry Moore's first novel is how to reign in the geyser of good vibes. Hero is the first in a series of young adult fantasy novels that centers on the life of a gay teen superhero, Thom Creed. Moore is ridiculously qualified to write such a book. Openly gay and with a long career in the film industry where he is perhaps best known as the executive producer of The Chronicles of Narnia series, it is unsurprising that this novel was an uncontested favorite to win the Lambda Literary Award in the Young Adult category.
It's not only the young adult crowd and the GLBT crowd that are hopping on board this love train, but also the superhero-loving crowd of comic book geeks. Leading the bandwagon of support for this exciting new series is none other than Marvel Comics guru Stan Lee, who is developing a television show based on Moore's novels. The audiobook actually opens with a jolly introduction from Stan Lee, whose enthusiastic recommendation alone should be enough reason to listen to this book.
But there is still more goodness, in that the novel itself is narrated by Michael Urie, the openly gay stage and screen actor best known for his recurring role as Marc St. James on the hit television series Ugly Betty. Urie is gifted with a knack for character voices, and delivers a dozen uniquely hilarious and heartwarming voices for the various superheros and wannabes in this novel. There's the League, featuring an alien calm for Justice, a publicity-ready sparkle for dreamy blond Uberman, and a slinky rasp for speedy Golden Boy, the sidekick of Silver Bullet who has been demoted to trainer of the League's next crop of heroes. Thom Creed, in the universally appealing tones of an outsider's tenderly introspective coming-of-age, is among this crop. He is joined by the voices of perpetually grouchy Scarlett, drippy nosed Typhoid Larry, and sarcastic chain-smoking psychic Ruth, all hiding secrets of their own.
Perry Moore has written a book that does exactly the right thing at the right time, bringing together a remarkably broad audience in a way that can only be described as a game changer for the several genres it bridges.

"Science fiction lovers will be looking for the next installment in this fast-paced and imaginative series." (
    School Library Journal)

    Don't forget 1017
This is the second book in the Chaos Walking series, if you have not read "The Knife of Never Letting Go" you must start there. It is a great book. Just imagine a world where you can hear the thoughts of every man. I have read the first two books in the Hunger series and I like this series just a little better. Females read more then men, so I believe that is why Hunger games has been more popular.
I loved the message in this book. Todd and Viola are growing up fast and they are finding out that life is not black and white. While most Sci-Fi books talk about how bad war is, PN shows us through the story. To me that is what stories are all about, otherwise it is just lecturing. I have always wondered about wars and why people fight for certain sides and how they do some of the terrible things they do. Both sides feel they are fighting for the right cause and they somehow justify torture and killing. Our main characters get caught up in opposite sides of a war. Both characters do some terrible things, you could even compare Todd to a guard at a concentration camp.
The book starts out just a little bit slow and doesn't really hit stride until chapter 16. The slow start is probably why I liked the first book just a little bit better. Towards the end there is a very long scene which goes on like William Shatner in Star Trek.
After chapter 16 I found it very hard to stop listening. The story got very intense and every time I thought everything was going to be alright, something would happen to change that. The book is filled with lots of surprises.
1017 is a new character that I hope we hear more from in Chaos Walking.
We are the choices we make.
Unfortunately not the fast paced thrill ride of a read that THE KNIFE OF NEVER LETTING GO was. No, THE ASK AND THE ANSWER (Chaos Walking #2) is a much slower story that is all about mind tricks, as Viola and Todd struggle under the thumb of their old enemy Mayor Prentiss.
Now newly self appointed President Prentiss flexes his control over the pair of teens as well as the rest of New Worlds remaining population. Haven has been claimed and renamed New Prentiss Town and quickly becomes that of a police state of horrors under its new ruler and his army. All the men and women are once again separated including Todd and Viola. Despicable acts of evil and violence become part of daily life. With the threat of mutiny and war again rising on New World, Todd and Viola find themselves confused, beaten and trapped on different sides.
There is no question that Patrick Ness is an awesome writer with a completely original story to tell. The Chaos Walking Trilogy is one with a strong concept that is entirely unique and intriguing.

Really interesting world but seriously messed up
The first book in the Chaos Walking trilogy (I suggest you listen to the bonus prequel before you start this book.) It's all about power - obtaining, keeping and demonstrating power, that is until anti-power shows up and challenges the status quo. The anti-power in the form of two 13-year old adolescents who battle for their freedom, their lives, an oppressed race and an interesting connected planet. One word of warning: The first and third books are wonderful. Unfortunately, there is a second book that is rather tedious. I almost didn't get the third book because of how much I struggled with the second. I am greatful I convinced myself to try the final book. It was indeed the best of the series. Many lovable and memorable characters that are brought to life by Mr. Ness.
The narrator(s) are pitch perfect for their roles in the performance. I recommend the Chaos Walking Triology with the understanding the second book is a struggle to finish.
    Edge of knife story
I had already read this book and loved it. I was looking forward to the audio version but was afraid it could not recreate the "noise" as written in the novel. Nick Podehl exceeded all expectations. He particularly nailed the voice of Todd's dog, Manchee, giving me moments of both wild laughter and heartbreaking tears. Bravo!
Intense, well-voiced story, somewhat clumsy plot
Intense is a good word for this young adult novel. The setting is some time in the far future, on a colony planet peopled by religious settlers looking to distance themselves from the problems of the old world, including most technology. Except that much has gone wrong since the first landing. There was a war with the planets alien inhabitants, who released a noise germ that makes everyone able to hear everyone elses thoughts, including animals. And this germ also killed off women and girls, leaving behind only men and boys. At least, this is the grim reality as understood by the story's protagonist, Todd Hewitt, who is the last boy in the troubled village of Prentisstown. However, as we soon learn, Todd doesn't really know a whole lot.
The setting and Todds voice, which are both well-realized, are immediate hooks into the story.

Narrator is great, message to teen girls is poor
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Probably not, unless they were fantasy fanatics.
Would you recommend The Iron Daughter to your friends? Why or why not?
    Same as above.
Have you listened to any of Khristine Hvams other performances before? How does this one compare?
    No.
Could you see The Iron Daughter being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I could see it, and I could see it being very popular.
    Any additional comments?
Only a few thoughts for teen fiction authors. Please please please create strong female characters. And I don't mean girls whose only strength lies in how well they can wield a weapon or who can defy authority without thought. I mean girls who don't fall in love with "ice princes" or vampires--with older men who abuse them. Instead, make them beautiful and admirable from the inside out. Make them sexy, yes, but independent. Make them resourceful and sure, romantic, but not dumb asses. Megan had potential. But Julie Kagawa failed her, epically.
    better than part 1
i read the iron king and loved it. ive been waiting for book 2 and its better than i was hoping. a great listen i could not stop listened to the whole thing in one day.
    YA book
Once again this is a young adult sereis, very good storyline, great narration by khristine Hvam, she bonds you to the characters, makes you see them as they are meant to be seen, I loved the friendship between Robin Goodfellow/Puck and Megan, the two banter back and forth like brother and sister. Her knight Ash, his beauty breaktaking, his change amazing... a very good read...
    Like Twilight with Faeries
It's got a decent plot, but it has too much teen angst and pining over forbidden love.
Definitely YA, but appropriate and creative
Emphasis on young. It's a bit sappy, but it's appropriate for the characters being teenagers. The storyline is very very creative and lives up to expectations for a story literally about fairyland. I will be continuing on to the next book.

    Members Reviews:
Fantastic Prequel/Sequel to the Dark Hunter Series
This story of Nick's early life and entree into the Dark Hunter world is more than any Dark Hunter fan could have dreamed of. It provides the details of Nick's earliest experiences with Kirian and so much more. It is only to be expected that a book featuring the wise-cracking Nick would be funny, but many times it was outright hilarious and I laughed out loud--so don't listen to this while in a crowd with your iPod unless you don't mind people thinking you're downright crazy. We get introduced to a slew of wacky and lovable, not to mention hysterically funny characters. Bubba and Mark are two standouts because you can't help loving guys who deal guns and computers while hunting zombies on the side and aren't afraid to go after them with a rocket launcher or baseball bat, whichever is closest at hand. There is so much action and so much to laugh about it's almost impossible to stop listenning. Dark Hunter fans should know that this story isn't really a prequel in the strictest sense because... well, the ending explains so I won't.
One drawback, though not enough to lose a star, is that the narrator departs from previous pronunciation of Acheron, saying it like Ackeron, which aggravated me to no end. This may be correct, who knows, but it seems weird that Acheron would have the nickname Ash if the new pronunciation is correct. A huge drawback is that while Nick is definitely a Cajun, the narrator doesn't manage even a hint of an accent. Still, it's better to do no accent than a bad one. Also, he doesn't even hint at a Greek accent for Kirian and gives Ash a deep growly voice that doesn't feel like our Ash. Ah well, nobody's perfect I guess.
Whether you want more Dark Hunters or just a really good story with some really great action and huge laughs, Infinity is well worth the read.
    Lost . . .
Okay. So I'm seriously having a hard time rating this book. The author is a talented writer with a witty sense of humor and fun characters, but there is so much going on, and the book is so all over the place I just feel completely lost after reading it.

    Publisher's Summary:
The fourth book in the New York Times best-selling series.
San Francisco: After fleeing to Ojai, then Paris, and escaping to London, Josh and Sophie Newman are finally home. And after everything they've seen and learned in the past week, they're both more confused than ever about their future. Neither of them has mastered the magics they'll need to protect themselves from the Dark Elders, they've lost Scatty, and they're still being pursued by Dr. John Dee. Most disturbing of all, however, is that now they must ask themselves, can they trust Nicholas Flamel? Can they trust anyone?
Alcatraz: Dr. Dee underestimated Perenelle Flamel's power. Alcatraz could not hold her, Nereus was no match for her, and she was able to align herself with the most unlikely of allies. But she wasn't the only one being held on the island. Behind the prison's bars and protective sigils were a menagerie of monstersan army for Dee to use in the final battle. And now Machiavelli has come to Alcatraz to loose those monsters on San Francisco.
Perenelle might be powerful, but each day she weakens, and even with Nicholas back at her side, a battle of this size could be too much for her. Nicholas and Perenelle must fight to protect the city, but the effort will probably kill them both.
London: Having been unable to regain the two final pages of the Codex, Dee has failed his Elder and is now an outlawand the new prey of all the creatures formerly sent to hunt down Flamel.
But Dee has a plan. With the Codex and the creatures on Alcatraz, he can control the world. All he needs is the help of the Archons. But for his plan to work, he must raise the Mother of the Gods from the dead. For that, he'll have to train a necromancer. And the twins of legend will make the perfect pupils.

    Just a fun book.
This series may or may not be intended for teenagers or the youth. It is a nice fun series. I am a seriously avid reader, and finish a novel per week. I picked up the first book in the series for my daughter. I ran out of books and picked it up. I have read all of them now. They are fun.
The series has characters that are well wrritten and believable. The goals and problems are very truthful. Michael Scott has to have or had a few teenagers because he has them down pretty well in the books.
Now don't think you are about to read a literary masterpiece but the stories have heart, soul, well planned themes and flow, and realistic well described characters. I love a good book and these are just that. GOOD BOOKS
building, Building, BULIDING - Can't wait!
This novel intensifies your feeling for the characters. By the end of this book you have so much invested in the story that you want to know the end; but are starting to mourn that there are only two more novels. This is the 2/3 point in the series. Be prepared for heartbreak and surprise who is who. The strands of the base story complicate in this installment leaving you unsure of what twists and turns lay ahead -- excellent. There are storms brewing on every front, elder and immortals and on the side of good and the side of evil. Youll have some big questions at the end of this one for sure.
    The Best One So Far!
I loved this book! I was sad when it ended and cannot wait for the next in the series. This series just keeps getting better and better.

The Narrator Makes This Book Work.
What did you love best about Blood Promise?
This book really opened up the world of Vampire Academy. Readers get a glimpse into the world of Miroi and Strigoi outside the walls of St. Vladimir's. Until this point, Richelle Mead hadn't spent a lot of time world building, but this problem is resolved as Blood Promise introduces new characters, institutions, locales, and conflicts.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I always love Rose and Christian, but Sydney Sage definitely stole the show this time. Like the rest of the Vampire Academy cast, Sydney is a very complex character with a lot of baggage, but she's always fun to read. Not only is she a great character, but she introduces readers to a whole new side of the VA world: the Alchemists. She's an all-around great addition to the series.
    Any additional comments?
Khristine Hvam was a wonderful narrator for the 2nd and 3rd books in the series. She brought a light-hearted innocence to the books that suited Rose's voice at that time. But everything changed at the end of Shadow Kiss. Blood Promise has a darker tone than the previous books and Rose, forced to mature, is not the same carefree girl she used to be.
Changing the narrator to Emily Shaffer was the perfect choice for this audiobook. The reader is immediately confronted with the change in Rose's character and what this will mean for the rest of the series. It's a bit jarring at first, but the change makes for a deeper, more enjoyable experience.
    Great book, bad narrator
I LOVED Blood Promise, as much as Twilight if not more. The whole series is great, can't wait to see what happens next. BUT was not happy with the narrator at all, it was very disappointing to go from the first 3 books, the last 2 having the best narrator Khristine Hvan, who made you feel as if you were part of the story, to this narrator who just made it frustrating to keep up with, the worst being Dimitri and Adrian voices. Please got back to Khristine Hvan.
    Great!
I love this series, however the music in the background in some parts of the story was distracting.
    Horrible Narrator !
I am so disappointed! The right narrator will make a book and this one was horrible for Rose. Rose is a strong, determined young women not a whinny 10yr old girl. This narrator should be doing children's bedtime stories.I am so frustrated it took forever for Blood Promise to come out on audio and then to have to listen to this narrator, not pleased.
If this narrator continues this series it will be my final listen.

The world is changing - the government has seized control of almost everything and kids are disappearing.
For 15 year-old Wisty and her older brother, Whit, life turns upside-down when they are hauled out of bed one night, separated from their parents, and thrown into a secret compound for no reason they can comprehend, except that the new government is clearly trying to suppress Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Imprisoned together in a decrepit cell, Wisty and Whit cling to the only things they have left - a blank book, a drum stick, and each other. While searching for ways to escape, both begin exhibiting strange abilities. Maybe there is a reason they were singled out!
Can Wisty and Whit, a witch and a wizard, master their skills in time to save themselves, their parents - and maybe the world?
From James Patterson, the creator of the best-selling Maximum Ride and Daniel X novels, comes Witch and Wizard, his most terrifying and awe-inspiring series yet.

Quick listen, but seems quickly written.
The narrators do as good a job as could be expected with a novel that is shallow with a simplistic plot & characters that lack any depth. For a minute I actually thought this must have been the abridged edition incorrectly labeled as unabridged but a sample download of the book on my Kindle has confirmed that this book actually is that cursorily written.
It starts off with a bang, but everything following just falls flat.
    Horrible! Don't waste your time
Very juvenile writing style. Another story of kids who suffer horrible death and dismay at the hands of a corrupt government who they must overthrow. Very disappointed in this book.
    Witch & Wizard
great children's book with an interesting story line. Not really adult reading material
    WOW ODD!!!!
Well, it wasn't what I expected. It was more like the telling of a 15 year old's worst nightmare. There's a strong message being sent here. I might change my mind after hearing the next installment, but for now, I have reservations. (the lingo of the kids is a bit over the top too)
    YUCK-Extremely Disapointing
I heardt the critics were comparing this book to Harry Potter. I assure you there is no comparison. This book is badly written, and difficult to follow. Under the circumstances I should be entitled to an apology and a refund.

    Buy the book
The voice in this audio is awful!! sounds like a stuck up 12 years old brat... I had to stop listening to it.. Couldn't stand it!!
Love the series!! hate this audio!
    MacMillan Audio- Stop Changing Narrator's
I could not be believe my ears, they changed the Narrator yet again, only this time it is worse than Hunted Narrator Jenna Lamia (who sounded 11).
Cassandra Morris sounds like she is maybe 8 yrs old and her pronunciation of the author's terminology is dare I say childish.
Please I encourage everyone to write MacMillan Audio and the Author's and beg them to please, please go back to Edwina Wren.
    Couldn't Finish It
I tried on several occasion to get through this book but my ears could not take the narrator. I listened to about 2.5 hours over three days in the hopes that over time I might adjust but not only is her reading bland and boring but her inflection at the end of almost EVERY sentence is so distracting that it's all I hear.
Even my fiance picked up on it within about a minute of listening. Normally if I don't like the reader I can adjust and eventually finish the book and or come around, but I have no intentions of even trying to get through the rest of this book. I also have no intentions of EVER purchasing or listening to anything else by Cassandra Morris and will be writing some feedback to Macmillan audio. Not just for continuing to switch readers (Books 1-3 were a different publishing company, but 4-7 are macmillan and there are 3 readers) but also for failing to do anything even resembled listening to the final product. Words with the same spelling but have different meanings when pronounced differently were inproperly read. (E.g. Bow - as in bow and arrow or to bow up one's chest). This lack of attention to detail AND terrible narration make this the first book audiobook (out of about 100) that I couldn't finish. Hopefully someone reads this prior to putting any $$$ in Macmillons pocket!!!
    Horrible Narration
I started listening to the series because my wife likes it and would put it on at bed time. I got interested in the story and have been following along. The series is a bit too "teen romance" for me, but the story isn't bad.
The narrators for the first five books were o.k. - not much skill in voice modulation or theatric presentation, but at least appropriate to the age of the main character - Zoey, a 17 year old girl.
The narrator for this book, however, is one of the worst I have had the misfortune of listening to.
