It made me kind of emotional because, I never realized how hard the Amish lifestyle could be to maintain.

The struggles of Amish life 101!

This audiobook is really great, I appreciate books like these that reveal the true Amish life which is often times misinterpreted. People who visit Amish tourist spots usually have the wrong judgments about the people who live there. The Amish are very religiously strict and it's very interesting to find out what being Amish would be like. This audiobook does a great job at providing details, facts, and true stories about Amish living. Very impressed with this audiobook!

A Must-have Volume for Lugosi Fans!!!

One of the best reasons to purchase a non-fiction book like 'Bela Lugosi in Person' is to get information that is difficult or impossible to get on your own. This book, entertainingly written by noted Lugosi scholars Gary D. Rhodes and Bill Kaffenberger, is jam-packed with rare information about Bela's career outside of the movies. Picking up in 1932, when Lugosi's fame was at its height, and covering up through April 1944 (when Rhodes and Kaffenberger's 'No Traveler Returns: The Lost Years of Bela Lugosi' takes over), 'Bela Lugosi In Person' covers Bela's live appearances in 'Murder at the Vanities', 'Arsenic and Old Lace', 'Dracula', and the 'Stardust Cavalcade' tour in great detail. Lots of lost facts and trivia are here; including the sad fate of Emil Umann, the Beverly Hills theater owner who almost single-handedly resurrected Bela's movie career in the late-thirties by booking the Dracula/Frankenstein/Son of Kong triple-feature at his theater. With so many Lugosi books out in 2015, this is an especially great time to be a Bela fan! 'Bela Lugosi in Person' is definitely welcome on my bookshelf!

Gary Don Rhodes Strikes Again!

Gary Don Rhodes is meticulous in his research and all of his books about Bela Lugosi are top notch quality works to be treasured by generations to come. As an aside, a very rare Lugosi appearance is unearthed in the DVD collection "Red Skelton: The Early Years". It's from a 1954 show and also features Lon Chaney, Jr. and Vampira! It is also available from Amazon and is very cool! Just thought everyone should know.

You Don't Know Bela

This is such a great read about one of Hollywood's most fascinating characters. The story made me wish I'd been able to meet and hang out with this often misunderstood legend. The book takes you behind the scenes and I felt like I was there with Bela....which is what a great book is all about. The authors keep it interesting, especially for us casual fans that are looking for something more than the usual and customary take on old Hollywood. This is a book I'll pull from the shelf again and again.

Total waste of $9

after reading a few pages of very boring 4th grade book report style writing

I accidentally purchased this "look alike" book while making my very first purchase on my Kindle. Bummer. I realized that the "Jase"book I really wanted is called "Good Call".. Anyway, after reading a few pages of very boring 4th grade book report style writing, I quickly searched through the rest of the book and finally realized it was written by someone else. That someone else is a poor writer, at best, and does not need to be nickel-and-diming people on Amazon. If you make the same mistake that I did, you CAN actually return it for a refund. Don't let that author take your cash!! Look more closely that I did and purchase the real deal.

Good book! Short with a point.

This book has a success story about making something of your life. I love the family things showing you can succeed in many situations. This is what people should try to measure your own life's success with. Be happy with your accomplishments or you go and make them better.

Favorite Robertson/book unfavorable

This book was disappointing in every way in that it was just a collection of lines from the Dynasty TV shows. The title, in my opinion, is very misleading and the entire printing can be read in an hour. Not worth the money and not worthy of its subject.

Unfulfilling

Graphics did not do Lawrence justice, and the book was very light in text. I don't remember what this cost, but it wasn't worth it.

Disappointing format restrictions

I got excited about this book on JLaw, the breakout star of the Hunger Games. Sadly, I didn't get to appreciate the potential awesomeness of the book. The format is severely restricted, and I couldn't even get it on the Amazon Cloud Reader. The book is a disappointment since I can't open it on my Kindle or my computer. I'm used to having to transfer books via USB, but I'm not used to books being entirely unavailable in the two formats that I normally use.

Love her!!!

I am a huge fan. The art and story did not disappoint! If you are a fan too you will love it as well. Stuff I did not know is I the book. A great illustrated look. I have the print version too!!!

The King of Pop lives on!!

I still remember when I was young having to spend the night at my Grandma's house because my mom and aunt were going to Detroit to attend a Michael Jackson concert. His music, dance, style, and talent have been loved and enjoyed by people of all ages, young and old, and still continues even today, years after his death. The influence and impact he has made, not only to those in the music industry, but also to people's lives around the world, is too big for words. He is, and always will be, The King of Pop. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

A few days ago, I listened to an audiobook about Marilyn Monroe. Like this one, Michael Jackson: A Story from Life and Career Through Death, it was also written by J.D. Rockefeller and narrated by Mike Norgaard. I feel the two of them together are the new Dynamic Duo! Because of this, I knew I had to find another audiobook collaboration from the two. Well, seeing that I am a MASTER Moon-Walker, just like Michael Jackson, I chose this one right away!

The writing of J.D. Rockefeller is easy to read and to the point. He doesn't waste the reader's time by going off on tangents or dragging on with unnecessary, unrelated details. Because I already know quite a bit about Michael Jackson, the information presented in this audiobook was more of an entertaining refresher. Yes...I could have gone on Google and looked up this same information for free, but who wants to do that after working all day? Plus, couldn't we do the same thing with the majority of books out there that fall into this category? Yes, we could. Sometimes it's nice to have it already researched, organized, and read to you. It's only about 40 minutes long...perfect for your next drive to/from work or while you are cooking dinner, and a couple dollars cheaper than that fancy coffee you're drinking.

The narration by Mike Norgaard is superior. Some narrators I have listened to in certain books have a voice that tends to distract me by possibly sounding different than they would while holding a conversation (like a man trying to sound more distinguished or a woman trying to sound cute or sexy). This fake narration ends up sounding ridiculous to me, and I end up laughing more than learning about the info being presented. Well, no worries here! Thank goodness that is not the case with Narrator Mike Norgaard! His voice sounds natural, as it should be. He speaks clearly and has good projection.

Nice trip down the old trail

Tom Block was obviously thrilled during his narration as Wayne is a hero of his. Was a nice reminder of the many JW movies I've seen and gave me a list of some to see that I've missed.
