    Great Book...Drone Narration
What made the experience of listening to The Innovator's Solution the most enjoyable?
The content of the book is great. Something every C and VP level manager needs to read.
Would you be willing to try another one of Joel Lefferts performances?
No way...most drone voice I've ever heard. Puts me to sleep every time...even when I'm not tired.
    Any additional comments?
Please get someone else to narrate this...and I'll actually buy it again to listen to it again.
A easy to understand presentation of a complex sub
Would you listen to The Innovator's Solution again? Why?
yes, for reminding me on the points and making notes of relevant models to use
    Any additional comments?
The reader should be complemented on making the material alive and making it easy to understand. Good prononsiations makes the listening to a good alternative to reading the book. Well done :)
Possibly the best business book available
I found this book to be a refreshing no BS analysis of the business of innovation
It is well articulated well researched and puts forward a clear, precise and consistent idea that is backed up and explained in real world case studies.
    A must-read for technologists
I work in the technology industry, which seems to progress in fits and spurts, through disruptive innovations that become mainstream products within mere years, not decades. This book was eye-opening in its exploration of disruptive innovations, the conditions under which they succeed, their effect on "established" players...how (if) a disruptive innovation can be defended against by the established players..
    Very interesting read.
    Boring but fantastic
Struggled to finish, but loved the content. Very slow narrator. Slight overuse of examples in my opinion.

Good book, good audio, a new perspective
I have listened to this book and found many good examples. I took my listening device on a recent personal trip that did not go well. This book had me looking at my own job, and my trip, in a different light. My perspective has changed.
I will listen again and again. The content and narration were REALLY that powerful.
    Practical guidance
A nice break from fable format often used by Blanchard. Full of practical and factual guidance for improving all aspects of leadership including self and staff development, and principles of situational leadership.
    Mixed feelings
Is there anything you would change about this book?
This books mixes up some interesting ideas with a load of unsupported assertions. It is clearly consultant speak, with many self-references, that fails badly in the test of critical thinking. Sure enough, some of the ideas were good and some of the suggestions may work, but I the potential repercussions were overblown.
I once was blind but now I see....
I had the pleasure of being trained by Ken and Margie Blanchard. I am humbled to know that God has put so much information and COMPASSION into two people.

What would have made The Servant Leadership Training Course better?
The booklet with the CD set includes exercises:
    Exercise 1 - A Leadership Skills Inventory
    Exercise 2 - Leadership Skills Inventory - Self-Assessment
Exercise 3 - Leadership Skills Inventory Summary
    Exercise 4 - Leadership Skills Inventory Summary...continued
Exercise 5 - Smart Action Plan
Why is there not a .pdf file included with the audible version?
AWESOME- loved it from the first minute.
What made the experience of listening to The Servant Leadership Training Course the most enjoyable?
It's very unusual in the self-help audio book to be entertained and sucked in... but I was from the first few minutes. I didn't want to have to turn it off.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Servant Leadership Training Course?
His discussion on the ultimate servant leader and teacher, Jesus.
What does James C. Hunter bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
His personality and witty character. He's the "real deal."
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did chuckle a few times.
    Any additional comments?
Could possibly use some editing - there have been a few places where I think he was meaning to use one word but used another, or repeated phrases or didn't seem very clear. It reduces the professionalism, but only by a margin. He has great delivery.
I wish there were worksheets or downloads to go with this!!
    Excellent but missing study guide
If you could sum up The Servant Leadership Training Course in three words, what would they be?
I enjoyed listening and will listen again. The practical section requires a study guide that the audio does not provide. It would be nice that Audible would make this one important aspect possible for download.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Servant Leadership Training Course?
The practical part is very usable
    Any additional comments?
    Need the study guide.
    welcome to church
if this author would sick to the subject of servant leadership and spare is his judgemental self important diatribes on why everything about him and his world is righteous and everything about the world outside his is morally flawed, I might have come away with something approaching what I was expecting to get out of this book.

    Publisher's Summary:
Young, ambitious, and overwhelmed, Andrew O'Brien personifies a part of every leader as he wanders in search of the elusive silver bullet that will propel him to success. He happens upon an unlikely guide who distills the seemingly infinite list of leadership perils into the five temptations of a CEO. In an intense and often combative exchange, the two debate fundamental issues faced by all leaders, issues involving personal integrity and effectiveness in the ongoing struggle for success. While some of these topics have been bandied about in the leadership literature for years, here they actually begin to make sense.
Refreshingly original and utterly compelling, Andrew's story will serve as a timeless and potent reminder that success as a leader can come down to practicing a few simple behaviors, behaviors that are painfully difficult for each of us to master.

    Publisher's Summary:
Like his other fables, Silos, Politics, and Turf Wars is fiction in realistic form, involving not one, but three organizations, all struggling to eliminate their silos and bridge a sense of alignment back in place.
This audio comes with a bonus interview and introduction read by the author.
    Critic Reviews:
"Lencioni's proposal is so full of common sense...that managers will be eager to apply it themselves. Just as refreshing is Lencioni's use of character and plot, which is far above average for the business genre." (Publishers Weekly)
    Members Reviews:
    Simplistic Solutions to Complex Problems
Like many of Lencioni's books, the information in this book is played out through a realistic business scenario with a comprehensive review of the model at the end. Lencioni defines silos as barriers between departments that make them work against one another. Other words for silos are departmental politics, divisional rivalry, or turf warfare. Lencioni claims that silos happen because leaders don't provide a compelling context for working together. While that is true, the model he proposes seems somewhat simplistic for an organization that has been experiencing years of dysfunctional behavior. Years of conflict will not be resolved by simply defining goals and objectives with accompanying metrics. Human behavior isn't that straight forward. In addition to defining a purpose, organizations may need to rebuild trust, learn to work as teams, and develop better leadership and communication skills, to name a few. Lencioni's model provides a good start, but in my experience, it's incomplete.
    EVERY CEO should READ
Great book! I've read most of Patrick Lencioni's books. This one is just as good as his others. Geared towards a big or bigger compnay. It's a quick read.
    Fantastic!
Another Lencioni masterpiece. I couldn't have been more pleased with the story and the strategy to overcome the silos! I really appreciate the clarity and simplicity he brings to these issues.
    1/2
Great to be aware of but so much words to say the idea! Good but simple!
    Great Book Great Presentation
The author has excelled in the art of presenting complex business ideas in the form of stories that are easy to relate with. Great book for everyone whether employed or self employed

    Great read on Leadership
I've heard this book in a much longer form years ago read by John himself. Here we have a 'new' version of the audio book and unlike many of the other books this one has a much better narrator. Here I was reminded of what is wrong with our current national and international leadership. I'm also reminded of basic leadership skills that I've forgotten and sometimes not applying and others I am. I found the book very informative about leadership and why we need some real leadership in the government, business, schools and our own homes.
Teaches a lot on the qualities of a leader
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, because Mr. Maxwell is probably the best teacher when it comes to leadership and relationships.
What other book might you compare The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader to and why?
I cannot think of a book that I can compare this book to. For a leader, it might rank up there with
What about Wayne Shepherds performance did you like?
I have heard Mr. Maxwell speak often. Mr. Shepherd captured the nuance I would have expected Mr. Maxwell to have.
    Any additional comments?
I always learn something new when reading or listening to John Maxwell. Being a new leader, this book has given me ideas on how to change to meet the challenges of leadership.
Loved it! Simple language but so targeted!
In simple plain language you are reminded or taught all the big and little things that make a leader in whatever context!
    Worthwhile

When the ice began to break up, Shackleton set out to save them all on his heroic 800-mile-trip across the frigid South Atlantic, in little more than a rowboat. Unlike similar polar expeditions, every man survived, not only in good health, but also in good spirits, all due to Shackleton's leadership. Great leadership traits
An amazing example of successful leadership in an extreme Antarctica survival situation. Shackleton uses his leadership ability to put people into the right jobs to help his crew survive in harsh situations
a bit dated and might on details
the business examples used in this book predicted. I would have also enjoyed more details about Shackleton exploit in Antarctica.
    Inspirational

    Members Reviews:
Not quite "out of the box"
To be kind, I would say that the principles written are sound, relevant, and important. However, the narration and delivery are distracting... bordering on amateurish.
The basic concept of the book is:
    1. Treat others as indivual people with individual needs, flaws, and dreams
    2. Do the right thing by others, for others
    3. Once you recognize the joy to be had in THAT moment, then
    4. Re-examine other people in that new light
    5. Repeat
I would recommend any book by Patrick Lencioni for a far better read and equally sound principles
    Fantastic Listen!!! A MUST HAVE!!!
This is one of those books that you will listen to over and over. I have it in print format and have referred it to well over 10 people who have all purchased it and thanked me for the referral. You will not be let down with this one, and must have for every library! If you are into bettering your life, this is a great way to get insights!
    Reflective and thought provoking work
After getting used to and accepting the way in which it is presented I found the message in this book life-changing. I like the idea of backing up the audio version with the written one because you do need to revise and revisit particular areas. This book makes you look at your life and take personal responsibility for all of your actions. Not an easy lesson but one that will make you a better person individually and socially if you absorb its contents. Enjoyable and enlightening, it is definitely worth a listen!
    Life-changing listen
Even though the style of the book seems a bit childish, it has the advantage of getting through to my self defencive ways of thinking. I've read many other books about leadership, but no other has come even close to diagnosing my biggest obstacle for success: the lack of respect and compassion for my fellow workers. Listening to this book has helped me to unlearn my self destructive ways of thinking, and it just seems that life has become a lot more enjoyable, not only for me but also for those around me. I'm 37 years of age - yet can identify with the "young" person those more mature people are trying to share their insights with. I only wish somebody had given me a copy of this book 15 years ago. Who knows where I'd be by now, if I had learned these very, very basic lessons back then?
    Must read
If anyone has ever told you they "have a problem with you", you have to read this book. This book unfolds like a novel but (at least for me) gave me that "a-ha" moment to show me where I am messing up in the way I communicate with others in the world.
