The Legacy, healing hearts and inspiration
This is a good series read!. We see the wonders of healing heart and soul interwoven into the story. We see glints and shimmers of light toward the future.
To me, what makes of a really good read, is in wanting to know what happens to this family into the future. There is more here, Quincy has found solace in his work and further joy in a healing heart. He's brought forth a great deal through his work and actions, so too his spiritual rewards should abound with far greater joy than heretofore told.
What event will incur that brings Beatrice a healing heart? And what of Dorian? Where is Dorian, is Dorian still in Canada, off creating a legacy in the West, intentionally ignoring family, or suffering from a bad case amnesia following an untold accident? What of Victoria and Jonas? As part of Jonas healing, Will Pullman provide them the usage of a luxury car to travel westward to the Pacific following the turn of century New Year and somehow discover Dorian? What of Jefferson and George?
These authors have a true knack of bringing life to characters and story, while infusing the reader with healthy spiritual inspiration. Making for better than a good read.
    Sisters & Cousins
The whole series was great. I thoroughly enjoyed keeping up those young women in the series, they were so cute.
    Really enjoyed all three books
Friend of mine gave me the first and second book to this set but she didn't have the third so I ordered it. Really enjoyed all three books.
Predictable but still a gentle, enjoyable book.
I really enjoyed the three cousins in this entire series of books. I enjoy their faith, their love for each other and how the authors have tackled difficult subjects through each character, and especially that goodness always prevails. I felt that the second book in the series was the longest as the characters went across the ocean via boat. I just wanted them to get off that boat. I also really came to dislike Jonas Broadmoor throughout the series, but I loved how redemption comes for him.
I recommend this book along with the first two. Good reading from two of my favorite Christian authors.
    Five Stars
    good reading

    Can't wait for the book!
It was a great story except I felt several times the story line dragged on much too long then it ended to abruptly. I just noticed on the cover the word trilogy so I'll have to wait for book two to get the answers to the ending that left me hanging.
    Painful
Hours and hours of misery only to find out that the author won't say who did it? NOT FOR ME!
    Love her descriptions!!!
Mary E. DeMuth is a very good writer. I love her descriptions. However, in the three books there is very little story, and it moves very slow. Her characters tend to say "I'm sorry" and "you hear me" real often. Even so, the books are a pleasant read.
    good book!
Very well read! The story comes to life. Great word pictures by the author

Parents Worst Nightmare and the Aftermath
This book by Linda Nichols, reveals the raw pain and emotion of a surgeon who makes a mistake that costs the life of a child, rips apart his marriage and makes him question his faith. As with her other books, Linda Nichols does not shy away from the hard questions that Christians face, nor does she portray God as Santa Claus, ready to deliver all of our wishes. Her story is not simplistic, nor do her characters "do the right thing" . . . they usually do the human thing . . . and learn from it . . .and learn then to listen for that still small voice.

"A lovely, gifted writer." (Publishers Weekly)
    Members Reviews:
I really wanted to like this one.
I love southern fiction and I absolutely adore Edisto Island, have visited many times, however, this author made it sound like a drug infested slum instead of the beautiful island it is. If I had never been myself, I wouldn't be tempted to visit after reading this. She made islanders seem trashy and uneducated. I did like the Christian theme throughout, but the book jumped from scene to scene with no cohesion. I finished because I kept thinking there was going to be an epiphany of some sort but shouted "Thank the Lord" when I hit the last chapter. So disappointed in what had potential to be a great read.
    Downer
I'm convinced that we react to novels from a complex place. Our personalities, our history, and our current circumstances influence how we receive a story. The author paints vivid pictures of life on Edisto Island, yet in my mind's eye the visual is covered in [pluff] mud. Her characters are authentic, flawed human beings like all of us, but stitched together with so very little hope. Christian fiction doesn't need a holy formula, but for me, Hope is essential. This is a depressing story.
The author gives her main characters a defined, denominational faith. There is a great deal of Scripture quoted and prayed, but also a very unbiblical view of the Holy Spirit. The theology is He enters a baby at baptism and basically lays dormant until a bishop performs a confirmation of the adolescent. This may or may not be important to the reader, but for many, Scriptural accuracy is crucial because of its influence on those exposed to it.
    Riches to Rags with God
I liked this book! For me, it was a comparison of the wealthy verses the poor. Yes, the well to do have things; does that give them integrity or honesty. On top of that, it was about the main character's growth in God. The characters were well developed and for the most part, I liked them. This read will make you think.
    Not what I expected
I didn't like this book very much but I really like Beth Webb Hart and loved "The Wedding Machine". That was a good book that I enjoyed very much. Not for the teen table at all. Sometimes I think that Beth Webb Hart has seen a lot in her life and has taken note of it all. I look forward to reading more of her books even though this one wasn't one of my favorites, I still enjoy her insights. In a way she reminds me of John D. MacDonald who muses about the human condition and assures us that we all have thoughts that frustrate us whether it's over ruthless development of a beautiful land or of how society is so much more crass than ever before. BTW MacDonald's books are NOT Christian lit so just wanted to warn you there.

Length: 3 hrs and 19 mins
    Language: English

    Publisher's Summary:
But Jon isn't interested in the hype. He's far more concerned with how people are being misled by prophecy enthusiasts and their bizarre end-times scenarios, particularly the wrong-headed predictions of his nemesis, Melvin Morris Merton.
Still, Jon is a professor, not a crusader. He's happy with his life of teaching (Harvard and Hebrew University), writing (a best-selling "biography" of Jesus), and research (Near East studies). He's also a newlywed, deeply in love with his brilliant and beautiful wife, Shannon. Not even an annoying lawsuit from Merton can shake his world.
    But Joshua Ben-Yosef can.
This Israeli speaks a dozen languages - fluently and without accent. His words ripple with wisdom and authority, and crowds follow him, enthralled. He heals the sick, gives sight to the blind, casts out demons, and even raises the dead.
Once again, Jon is drawn into a hot pursuit of the truth that at times casts him into the very lonely, very dangerous role of one man against the world.
Review the evidence, join the dig near Nazareth that uncovers a first-century mosaic, and find out if three lines of Hebrew could change the course of history.
    Members Reviews:
It was interesting enough to bother finishing it.
Overall it was OK, though quite tedious, sort of like the 2nd part of Indiana Jones. Obviously Paul Maier put a lot if effort into this book and it shows his academic knowledge and understanding in theology and history. Saying this the whole premise for the plot is not realistic as there is no way that so many believers would actually believe that Jesus would return as a physical person born again in our world, it is surprising that apparently Lutherans and other actually think it is reasonable. Paul Maier offcoarse trying to convince himself that there is no supernatural activity on earth and only Jesus perform supernatural signs and wonders and that is also strange, I would need much more then supernatural to convince me that Jesus in the flesh is back just like 2000 years ago because Jesus himself said that humans in His name can perform miracle themselves, so it is unthinkable that every Christian that has an answer prayer would immediately would be suspected to be Jesus himself?!... Seems like Paul planed only Lutherans to read this book. To his credit he succeeded somehow to draw even Pentecostal Jews like me and I will give him that! Hope the Codex Vaticanus will be better....

The Christ the World needs to See . . .
What made the experience of listening to Not a Sparrow Falls the most enjoyable?
That the characters in the story are real and flawed, like us all. This is a Christian book by a Christian author, but not a stodgy, holier than thou book, at all. The characters here make plenty of mistakes, and the author deals with this in a way that is refreshing and true to the gospel of Christ.

To be fair (isn't He always?), God sends down 18 legendary opponents to play against Elliott and hopefully teach him a few tricks along the way. From Leonardo da Vinci (nice clubs) to Marilyn Monroe (nice...everything), Babe Ruth (pass the hot dogs), Abraham Lincoln (cheater!), and 14 other luminaries, including Moses, John Lennon, Joan of Arc, Picasso, W.C. Fields, Socrates, Babe Didrikson Zaharias, Beethoven, Gandhi, and Shakespeare, Elliott squares off against some of the most extraordinary people who've ever lived. As shots are analyzed, balls enter bunkers, and Freud drives the cart (control freak), Elliott has a chance to examine his life and his form, to see what he can correct or improve before facing his ultimate adversary.
Bighearted and delightfully original, Bob Mitchell's Match Made in Heaven is a grand celebration of golf and a profound parable of traveling our own personal fairways in a game where no effort is wasted, and every failure is just another chance to try again.
