Petey, the adorable little dragon, will be an example to sick children!
Poor Petey! Even a dragon can succumb to a nasty cold. Children like to snuggle with Mommy when they are sick. This book is a perfect read for times like that. Beautifully illustrated, this book helps children understand that although having a cold is miserable, there are a few things we should do to try to help ourselves get better. The book subtly reminds children that mother knows best what to do when we are sick (the reference to the chicken noodle soup) and that after doing what we can to feel better, it is best to rest to allow ourselves to get better. After reading this book, Moms now can remind their sick little ones that Petey did some things to try to get better, so children should do what Petey did.
The illustrations and basic idea for this book are wonderful..
The illustrations and basic idea for this book are wonderful... The rhymes, on the other hand, often fall short, and honestly, the book would be better if Ms. McNulty ditched the rhyming all together. However, overall, a good book for kids about feeling bad with a cold and how to feel better.
Loved it
This book is bright and colorful and would capture any child's attention. It provides real remedies for anyone with a cold to feel better. The rhyming isn't overwhelming and the drawings are really fun. Loved it :)
this is the perfect story for them
If your young one is home sick, this is the perfect story for them. The illustrations are great and provide a getaway for their creativity, a place where they can go to help them feel better for sure.
Adorable dragon cures his cold with venerable remedy
A delightful story with beautiful illustrations. It should console any child who is home with a cold and deserves a place in the pantry alongside that venerable remedy, chicken soup.
