    Title: Awakening the Global Mind
Subtitle: A New Philosophy for Healing Ourselves and Our World
    Author: Ashok Gangadean
    Narrator: Ashok Gangadean
    Format: Original Recording
Length: 7 hrs and 21 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 10-06-15
    Publisher: Sounds True
Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 4 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
We have heard that the most profound spiritual truths cannot be expressed in words. But is that truly the case, or can we develop a higher literacy that serves as a pathway to global wisdom?
Groundbreaking philosopher Ashok Gangadean has spent more than three decades bringing forth such a language - a new spiritual grammar that builds on the planet's wisdom traditions and unlocks the transformative power of the mind's inner and outer dialogues. With Awakening the Global Mind, Gangadean introduces you to this revolutionary teaching for breaking out of the limiting patterns of "egomental thinking" and connecting to the supreme universal consciousness that he identifies as "Logos."
A Unifying Language for Realizing Global Wisdom
The concept of this primal Logos has been with us throughout history, described in many names and forms by our greatest thinkers. Although our cultures have been shaped by such luminaries as Buddha, Jesus, Lao-tzu, and Socrates, we remain stuck in old, dysfunctional patterns that fail to live up to our highest wisdom. Why is this so? As Ashok Gangadean observes, humanity has been limited to interpreting profound cosmic truths through the lens of ego-based thinking. But, he assures us, this self-imposed limit can be overcome with the missing primal language and dilation of our global mind.
Modern research shows that our language creates the fundamental "operating system" of the human mind. Awakening the Global Mind is your key to rewriting that system to find your own access code to Logos and personal flourishing. This deep restructuring of consciousness turns each moment of your life into an opening of awakening - whether you are contemplating spiritual teachings, engaging in deep dialogue with yourself and others, or simply enjoying your morning coffee with complete presence and mindfulness.
"At this pivotal time in our history, there is a new global wisdom unfolding," teaches Ashok Gangadean.

    Awesome
Such depth and scope. How much of life have we been unaware of and missing out on?
How much more of ourselves can we become aware of? How much more attached to the universe and all of life are we than we have been led to believe? This information/presentation goes a long way towards undoing the travesty that has been perpetrated on us.
    Five Stars
    extremely satisfying
    Time to Evolve
Professor Gangadean is one of a group of people known as the evolutionary leaders. He has been a professor of philosophy at Haverford College for over forty years and is Chair of their Philosophy Department. I have had an interest in the evolution of human consciousness for over 40 years. In my approach I have attempted to to take a holistic perspective, which includes the views of psychology, science, spirituality and philosophy. Gangadean's book on CD is the best source I've encountered for summarizing the history of philosophy, East and West, and showing how that quest, the love of knowledge, relates to where our evolution as a species is headed.
I seldom listen to books on CD. I'm used to pondering over sentences and paragraphs, underlining and making notes. I listened to this in my car, when I would normally be listening to music. Three times I listened. It is well suited for listening.

Dirigiu sua mensagem Pacem in terries a todo o mundo católico, e acrescentou "todas as pessoas de boa vontade". Agora, à vista da deterioraço global do ambiente, quero dirigir-me a todas as pessoas que habitam este planeta. Title: How's Your Faith?
    Subtitle: An Unlikely Spiritual Journey
    Author: David Gregory
    Narrator: David Gregory
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 7 hrs and 2 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 09-15-15
    Publisher: Simon & Schuster Audio
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 34 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
Join former NBC newsman and Meet the Press moderator David Gregory as he probes various religious traditions to better understand his own faith and answer life's most important questions: Who do we want to be, and what do we believe?
While David was covering the White House, he had the unusual experience of being asked by President George W. Bush, "How's your faith?"
David's answer was just emerging. Raised by a Catholic mother and a Jewish dad, he had a strong sense of Jewish cultural and ethnic identity but no real belief - until his marriage to a Protestant woman of strong faith inspired him to explore his spirituality for himself and his growing family.
David's journey has taken him inside Christian megachurches and into the heart of Orthodox Judaism. He's gone deep into Bible study and asked tough questions of America's most thoughtful religious leaders, including evangelical preacher Joel Osteen and Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Catholic archbishop of New York. It has brought him back to his childhood, where belief in God might have helped him through his mother's struggle with alcoholism and through a difficult period of public scrutiny and his departure from NBC News, which saw his faith tested like never before.
David approaches his faith with the curiosity and dedication you would expect from a journalist accustomed to holding politicians and presidents accountable. But he also comes as a seeker, one just discovering why spiritual journeys are always worthwhile.

    Thought-Provoking
One of the best books I've read on the struggles associated with developing a strong faith and relationship with God. Gregory's honesty and insights about his childhood, young adult life, his fascinating career, his marriage and their collaboration to create a meaningful interfaith home was spell-binding. You'll see this veteran reporter in a whole new light. He's way beyond me but I have similar doubts and questions. Merits a re-read. Excellent book. Thank you, David, for sharing!
My Faith is Good, But Now It's Blessed!
Would you consider the audio edition of How's Your Faith? to be better than the print version?
I have always been better at grasping things told to me, especially in story or narrative form. I have not read the hard copy yet to compare it to, but I intend to get it after listening to it so I can go back and study it and take notes. It was especially a treat to have Dave Gregory read his own book!
What other book might you compare How's Your Faith? to and why?
I read many books about religion, saints, and faith journeys, and I consider this book a worthy equal to them all. Believe it or not, I also just finished listening to The Shack by W.P. Young, and these two books could easily go hand-in-hand in a school course or series.
What about David Gregorys performance did you like?
His voice was welcoming and he was easy to listen to.

    Publisher's Summary:
As you have been told, this morning's subject is Seedtime and Harvest. Although it bears the same title as my latest book, it is not to be found in that book, for that book is an attempt to interpret some of the more difficult passages of the Bible. I have given you in the nine chapters a mystical view, and also a certain approach how you yourself may approach the interpretation of the Bible, for, as you know, it is not a book of history. And so, when I became aware of deeper meanings in the passages than those normally assigned to them, I began to see them or to apprehend them mystically, and so I have given you a mystical interpretation of many of the darker passages.
For instance, when Solomon made himself a chariot of the wood of Lebanon, he made himself - no one made it for him. That's what you must do - that's what I must do - that's what everyone must do - and in that chapter, I showed you the wood is not wood as you know wood. It means the wood of Lebanon is the incorruptible mind. But you make it for yourself, and we showed you the sides, what they were made of and what the meanings really are.

    Basic Information for Beginners
The first book about crystals was great! It goes over a lot of crystals for beginners to start their collection. I was hoping for a bit more in depth explanation about how to clear chakras. It was a great refresher and would be excellent introduction for someone that doesn't know much about either subject. The narrator was pleasant and did not distract from the story.

    Language: English
    Release date: 07-22-15
    Publisher: Dayanara Blue Star
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 2 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
A spirit animal is a guide that takes animal form. People often see their spirit animal in visions or dreams, but they can also appear in physical form as a natural animal. Some people even have mythical spirit animals, such as dragons, which of course cannot appear in their physical form. A spirit animal's power comes from its wild nature, so domesticated animals are rarely spirit guides.
You do not have one specific spirit animal. By which I mean, if your spirit animal is the deer, there is not one specific deer that is your spirit animal. Rather, it is the entire species that represents your spiritual guide. Related animals may also bear messages. If your spirit animal is a raven, for instance, crow sightings may also be significant for you.
So what does a sighting of you spirit animal mean? Often, people turn to their spirit animals for guidance when they are facing a decision about a relationship, a career, or seeking the purpose for their life. Your spirit animal can also appear to you when are you hurt and help you heal, either physically or spiritually.

A refreshing overview of the insights of important Tarot scholar Gertrude Moakely are also included in relation to the carnival tradition of Northern Italy and the influence of Petrarch (the founder of humanism and mentor of Dante). The second part of this work examines each of the cards of the Major Arcana and the numbered and Court cards of the Minor Arcana as they relate to the art of Divination/Tarot reading.

Title: Why Should Anyone Believe Anything at All
    Author: James W. Sire
    Narrator: Arthur Morey
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 7 hrs and 40 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-19-15
    Publisher: InterVarsity Press
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 3 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
With insight and humor, James W. Sire examines the reasons people give for believing what they do. He then turns to the question of a specific belief - namely, belief that the Christian faith is true. Sire tackles both the best reason for belief in Christianity (the identity of Jesus) and the chief reason against it (the problem of evil). Here is a book to challenge the skeptic and reassure the doubter in us all.
    Members Reviews:
I think one of the best books that Sire has written
I think one of the best books that Sire has written. And I would recommend them all, particularly "Naming the Elephant" and "Habits of the Mind". The first half of the book is not as heavy-weight as his other books, but it does contain what I consider some of the better articulation of principles of intellectually held beliefs. Sire is close to an American version of C.S. Lewis, from my reading. The second half of the book was lighter reading. It is usually amazing that college age students -- whom Sire quotes often in the first half -- can hit the ideological nail on the head so well about the nature of beliefs.
    The Epistemology of Faith
This is an old book at this point, but still incredibly insightful. People believe all sorts of things, even disbelieving they believe. And for everything that they believe they have a reason for believing it. Very rarely is this a mere objective approach to truth. In this book James Sire probes all the various factors that go into the reasons people believe what they believe, including such things as culture, and education. It's been a long times since the polls have been taken and college kids interviewed, yet the conversation of the book is absolutely essential for those who want to talk to others about Christianity. The second half of the book deals specifically with why one should believe in Christianity.
    Five Stars
The "Why should anyone believe anything?" section has some original thinking.
    Do you dare read this?
James Sire analyzes belief very well. If anyone read this with an open mind it would change their perspective on the world.
    Read only end of book.
The first half of this book is somewhat of a dry and lackluster catalogue of Mr. Sire's memoires of his seminars. The information presented though is neither clarified nor evaluated. Much of this book has been written before in his other books, particularly his Universe Next Door - which I highly recommend. I felt as though much of this book was simply rehashed, and added no further weight or evidence.
To be fair, beginning with his chapter on Evil, this book took a positive turn and now began to address with zeal and clarity some of life's most pondered issues. In his last chapters you will find evidence for a necessary God. I would buy this book and skip to the end...
