Great Ending to a Fun Series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would certainly reccomend the audio book to a couple friends who also enjoyed romance. This series and the narrator truly created a new world for me to enjoy for a few days and I would be happy to share that world with a friend.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I would have to say my favourite character would be Max, he was the right amount of kind and flawed. He had a great backstory and I was happy to learn more about him.

Very enjoyable. Short but fun to read the entire series in a row. Love the interaction between the siblings.

I really enjoyed this book. Never heard of the author but thought I'd give it a go. This is a sweet romantic book. I love that it gave some honest thought to alcoholism within the family and that it can happen in any income bracket. I love the relationship of the royal siblings and how they took Meredith under their wing along with your young son. I really loved the sweet romance between Maxwell and the Meredith. Two reluctant royals.

Good, but predictable

The series continues with the fifth in the series. This book is all about Judy. We met her in book four as Michael's middle sister. The couple met at the end of book four and we see their relationship move forward in this novel. The novel was good but the foreshadowing was quite heavy handed and you actually saw it coming way far in advance -- what you ask -- well you have to listen.

There were a couple of surprises that Bybee let Judy wield that made the twists and turns interesting and there was a moment or two of high suspense -- Bybee is not really know for her drawn out suspense moments. The narration was good.

All in all, a solid increment on the series. I understand that the next one is due out in April of 2015.

another great Weekday brides book

No spoilers here. I love the story of Rick and Judy. Judy was a great character and I'm glad they brought Rick into the story as he was a great friend to Neil especially in Neil and Gwen's story. Another great read by Catherine Bybee.

I loved this book because I got to see Daniel's POV and how he fell for Six.When I listened to Hopeless and Losing Hope I didn't care much of Daniel's character but after I listed to this one that changed. He's rather smart and funny and he found his better half in "Cinderella".

I liked the storyline though in some parts I could guess what was about to happen however it's a good book. I recommend it.

Could have been better

This book is about teenagers; 17 & 18 year old but the dialog seemed to be more like adults Teenagers do not talk that way. The narration was done by an adult as well which made it seem more unbelievable

Hoover's Best Book

Without a doubt this is the very best book Colleen Hoover has written. It's sweet, funny and delightfully unique. The story of Daniel and Six is a bit of a cautionary story but they manage to work through their problems without the excessive angst that sometimes overpowers some of Hoovers other books. It's a short book but a real delight.

This one just grabbed me. Maybe it was because it was refreshingly told from the guy's POV or maybe because it's the fantasy of a dark closet and freedom of not knowing the other person touching you. Whatever the case, I was captivated from the start. There was a YA feel but only because of the ages of the characters because the plot would be just as valid if the H/h were older. I completely enjoyed it!

Good Listen

So sick of audibles that could pass for porn. This was fun and easy to listen to each day. The performance was good. The characters were well delineated. The twist with time travel was interesting. A good book. Thanks.

I like Jude Devereaux stories, but almost stopped listening in chaper 1 because the narrator had such a terrible voice for the male characters. I decided to listen anyway, and it improved slightly, and the story was a good one, but in general this was a let down..

Not as good as Book 1

What did you like best about For All Time? What did you like least?

I did like the story line of Toby being able to tell the difference between twin brothers and the whole mystery of it, however, the entire love story fell flat. It wasn't until the end that the love story was finally gaining speed and the story was over. Not as captivating and interesting as Book I of the Nantucket Brides Series. Only read it once cause it just did not keep my interest. Usually I read Ms. Deveraux's books more than once but was ready to return this one after only one read.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I just didn't love the story. I am a football fan but didn't want to hear the details of all the games.

Not sure I can finish

As much as I love Emily Giffin books, this one just felt wrong. I am 3/4 the way through the book and am realizing that it never gets any better for me, so probably won't finish. I was not a fan of the narrator and I found I really couldn't like the main character very much! Without giving the plot away, this book just felt wrong and creepy to me. Wish she would write another book closer to feel of her previous books

She mispronounced "Giffin" as "Griffin" as she was introducing the book. I also had a hard time getting pass her awful "Texas" southern drawl.

I am so glad I took a chance on this book because I greatly enjoyed it, especially the storyline. For me, Emily Griffin's books always have interesting scenarios that start out really good. Then she can't stop herself from herself.

Great (low heat) romance :)

This was a great story. I loved Fern and Ambrose and loved their story. This is the first story I've read by this author and based on this I'll probably read more of her work in the future. FYI, there is no sex in this book...the most we get if some kissing and not much more so it's relatively tame in that respect but the tragedy and emotions brought on by the book should be kept to mature readers.

Fern is a daughter of a preacher and his wife. She was born late in their life (when they were in their 40s and thought they were past the possibility of children) and was treasured because of that. Fern was a plain child and she became aware of this at an early age but did her best to live with that and not let it bother her since there are others worse off. Fern's cousin, Bailey was born with a muscular disease that has had him in a wheelchair from an early age and will bring about his early death. Bailey and Fern are best friends though and she's been his companion and taken care of him most of her life. The only boy Fern has ever wanted was Ambrose but he never seemed to take much notice of her.

Ambrose was the son of an underwear model his mother met in New York when she was young. Unfortunately, Ambrose's biological father didn't want a son so his mother went back to her home town and married the man who became Ambrose's real dad (regardless of blood). Eventually Ambrose's mother couldn't stand small town life and left Ambrose and his dad to go back to New York. Ambrose was always handsome and got attention because of that. He also has a great wrestling talent and won state championship all 4 years of his high school career. Ambrose didn't like being the golden boy though and always felt the weight of everyone's expectations.

The first part of the book goes back in time to various times throughout the childhood of Fern, Ambrose and even Bailey. They all had certain issues they dealt with growing up. The most poignant moment was in the beginning of their senior year in high school, when Ambrose and the rest live through the events of 911 (which brought tears to my eyes). This was particularly tough for Ambrose because by this time his mom is living back in New York and Ambrose was worried for her life. This ends up having a profound effect on Ambrose. Bailey is the wrestling coach's son and Fern is his niece so they're around a lot.

Like a beautiful photograph

Just like its subject matter, this book or, better yet, novella leaves you thinking of it like a beautiful photograph, yearning to learn more about its subject. It is written with gorgeous, lyrical prose. The two main characters are incredibly human. I wish that the author did describe the bridges a bit more - which have become the iconic remainder landmark of this book's output.

I was super excited that the narrators are the original Broadway cast members of the new musical version of the story. Both Kelli O'Hara and Steven Pasquale are incredibly talented. All we are missing here is hearing them sing. I'm going to go listen to the cast recording next. :-)

An Uplifting Story with a little romance thrown in

Bybee keeps the series new and interesting by changing up the plots in interesting ways. Unlike other series which offer cookie-cutter plots, Single by Saturday is the story of Karen who is a dedicated volunteer to help young teens. The story is about what she is willing to sacrifice for others and a message about how to stand by the people you value in life. Bybee offers example after example of strong support through Karen's actions and the actions of her friends.

This book has romance but more importantly it shows the value of great friends and family and their value. This book is light on the raw romance and more heavy on relationship aspects and the value of individuals' ethics. I give it a thumbs up and I think the series is alive and thriving.

this was a great story with an unique story line. it kept me wondering how it would end.

Improbable but Fun

Plot is very improbable but the story is fun. Karen and Michael are in a fake marriage because Michael, a huge movie star, is gay and needs cover. He takes Karen to his home in Utah and instant attraction sparks between his brother, Jake, and Karen. Discovery would be devastating to his family and to Michaels reputation as a macho movie star. Some become suspicious. Thrown into this turmoil is Becky's teenage pregnancy. Becky's parents are abusive. Becky's baby father is Nolan, who works for Jake. Karen has a passion for helping teens in trouble and she gets involved in Becky's dire situation. Of course everything blows up and Karen's friends, along with Michael and Jake's family, get involved in the fiasco. What to do? You have to listen to find out. The reader does a fine job telling the story. She does not get in the way and does voices quite well.

Where is the next?

A fun, quirky read with quick wit and a fast pace that kept me intrigued throughout. I quickly became attached to the characters right along with each of their bizarre and funny idiosyncrasies.

Melanie our main character is pregnant and has just turned down a marriage proposal from Jack, the father. She is a head strong gal who thinks he is just asking because of the baby. He on the other hand is in love with her and is hoping she will reconsider. Melanie is a phychic, her mother has the ability to tell the history surrounding objects and they both can see ghosts. The people of Charlotte, NC have their suspisions and there is plenty of gossip, but Melanies family knows how to keep their secrets.

The backdrop for this ghostly story is her inherited historical mansion on Tradd St., of course, and during some renovations that are being done, the remains of a baby are found in the old foundation. While forensics are being performed on the remains, the crying, ghost sightings and a complicated pregnancy, just about have Melanie at her wits end. While she is trying to hold it all together she is also having to deal with her aggressive best friend, her shallow, impolite cousin and a wedding, not her own, that has been thrust upon her.

Aimee Bruneau is the perfect voice for this Southern group and has just enough sarcasm to make the dry wit hit home. This series reviews get better as it goes along so I may read the one right before this one but I am looking forward to continuing on with it as the new books come out. Recommend to those who like cozy ghost stories.

Satisfying Conclusion to this Quartet

I don't know if Karen White has any more adventures planned for these characters, but this book provides a very satisfying conclusion to the Tradd Street quartet. As genre fiction, Romance novels tend to be predictable. The question isn't where the author is taking us, but how she gets us there. What sets the top echelon apart is the writing.

Filthy, dirty, hilariously sweet love story!

Beautiful Beginningstarts off with a very stressed out bride and a very focused groom. Chloe and Bennett are down to the wire with wedding preparations and Chloe is about ready to head off to Las Vegas. Bennett is more focused on keeping his bride sane but also on how to make their wedding night special. So he decides that weren't going to have sex until the wedding night. Which is 5 days away and Chloe, being who she is, decides she needs to fight Bennett on that and what ensues if a test of restraint for Bennett. There are a LOT of hilarious and epic scenes in this book. It literally kept me laughing and smiling while enjoying them tormenting each other before their big day.Like every other book in this series we get a hot, fun, full of romance story! You will be laughing, you will be fanning yourself and you will be enjoying every moment of it.

I thought Beautiful Bastard was one of the best books I have read in a long time. Certainly one of the best romance books I have ever read. It was never sappy, the heroine was upfront and said what she meant, even to her own detriment and there was no angst and no prevarication. It didn't wallow in the characters problems,or weaknesses or tragic backgrounds. It embraced their quirks and made their inability to communicate calmly and effectively with each other actually work well for them. It was sexy, had a great hook and most importantly - it was hilarious. Whoever decided love had to be continually sad and angst filled is crazy.

The follow-ups introducing other characters were OK to good, but never lived up to the original. So I was somewhat reluctant to read the continuation of the Bastard's story. I was worried that if it was about their wedding, sap was bound to leak in somewhere.

I am happy to say it never did. It was exactly the messed up, hilarious, sexy, catastrophe that only Chloe and Ben could have. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was so glad to be reassured that these two characters I had grown so fond of would continue on in their dysfunctional but loving way.

My only tiny complaint was this - the ending didn't seem true to the story. Instead it seemed like the story ended and then the author added in one more sex scene. That bugged me just a little. I think this author does a great job of making her sex scene's "fit" the plot and the characters. This is the only time it seemed a little superfluous to me.
