Unusual, upbeat rock romance!

I read the series and am now making my way through the audible performances. I really enjoyed this unusual aspect of this story. The H/h marry without knowing each other. Their relationship takes a journey that is sometimes humorous, angst ridden and ultimately has you cheering for their happily ever after. Talon is a flawed, but caring husband Asia (I spelled it wrong I know) is dying to be loved but has trust issues. Their journey to love is a fun listen and I think most people would enjoy this light hearted banter!

Not As Intense As The Others In The Series....

.but still an AWESOME story!

All I can do is ditto all the other positive reviews. I liked Talon because he was a happy confident person who wasn't broken or scared which was a refreshing change. I loved his teasing personality. The only negative for me was, this story's plot wasn't as captivating or as intense as Storm's, Vandal's or Lukas's story but was still well worth the time and credit. Can't want to see what Carian Cole brings to audio next! .

wowza!!!

I usually clean while I am listening to audio books and it will take me a couple weeks to get through listening to the whole book. This book I was looking for things to do...I didn't want to put it down, got through it in a weekend, also love my house is nice and clean!

More than 5 stars and the moon!!

Talon is a standalone story in the Ashes & Embers series.

I listened to the audiobook of Talon for a re-read. I already loved the book, but the story really took on a new life, a whole other dimension through some amazing narration.

Talon is a member of the rock band Ashes & Embers. He is beginning to feel like his life is too shallow and he longs to find his soulmate.

Asia has been unlucky in relationships and has begun to feel like maybe she just isn't enough.

They both sign up for a social experiment that attempts to make the perfect match. Marry a stranger that is chosen for you and stay together for 6 months.

"Marrying you doesn't change who I am."

"No, but it changes who we are together," I grab her hand to stop her fingers from nervously circling on her leg. "Together, we're supposed to be better."

This story is beautiful, both heart wrenching and life affirming as it deals with some tough issues. The book is sexy with a swoon worthy rock star Hero and an amazing sweet heroine. It is an emotional story that brought me to tears, but also made me laugh.

About cheese, not cheesey

I really liked this second installment. It unfolded at a good pace, offered a good amount of character development. This book is about Natalie a woman from NYC and a dairy farmer who we met in book one. To be fair, we briefly met Natalie as well. I especially liked the background story of Natalie. Clayton did a fine job of illuminating her strengths and weaknesses making her strong, flawed as we all are, but strong. Oscar, her love interest, had his moments when I wanted to scream at him for being shortsighted., but hey it is a romance novel. Loved the curse-can shaking comic relief.

Most of the book is narrated by Olivia Song (all but 9 minutes) and she does a great job. Deacon Lee did the Epilogue. Song should have got top billing here. Lee gets a pass. In the book, Clayton sets up the next friend ideally to be bitten by Bailey Falls. Can't wait to read it. I give it a thumbs -- big.

Sizzling Hot!

Once again Alice Clayton thank you, thank you, and thank you, for writing another story that just sucks you in from beginning to end. Oscar and Natalie are worlds apart in what they want out of life. This is their journey down a path filled will hilarious moments, sizzling hot lust and unadulterated love! If you have never read an ALICE CLAYTON book..."START" you will never be disappointed!

Crazy for this book

Just as good as it counter part Nuts this book is funny and sexy, but what I truly love about it is that the main character is not a size 2 Barbie doll but a sexy full figure sexy size 18 woman who is not ashamed of her curve and gets the very hot sexy man..

Sexy and adorable

Oscar and Natalie are on fire! It was so nice to enter Bailey Falls again and not only fall in love with Oscar and Natalie, but to check back in with Leo and Roxy! I'm eagerly awaiting Clara's story!!

Not as good as "nuts"

Story dragged on. Loved the middle and the end. Several times I almost put book down to delete and have never done that especially when I love this author. So it was okay...would have been fine to skip

Excellent series

I've really enjoyed the Dakota series. I've listened to three of them on audible. I can't find the fourth one on audible, so got it on Kindle and will read it that way. I love having books on audible as can go about the things I have to do, And listen at the same time!

Delightful as always

Her characters are so believable, it"s as if you have known them all your life. Even though. You maybe have never been to North Decota, the discription is so fully developed, you could swear, you remember it well.It pulls you in and you share all the emotions they share. And at the end, you can't wait till the next in the series is waiting in your library so your adventure can start again.

One of my favorite audiobooks of 2016!!

Sarina Bowen absolutely CRUSHED this one, and I LOVED every second of it! To say that I adored The Understatement of the Year would be, well, the freakin' UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR!

First, I have to put an important message out to all of the lovers of the AUDIOBOOK of Him: Buy The Understatement of the Year in audio format. I'm telling you, it is worth every single penny. For those lovers of Him, you will instantly recognize the voice of Teddy Hamilton, and you will also ADORE the voice of Christian Fox. Listen up all M/M authors: These men should narrate MORE audiobooks! They have voices to DIE for, and they completely made this audiobook their BITCH. I'm in love with their readings, and they have become my top narrators to watch for.

The story was also pure new adult, sweaty hockey player gold. For me, 2016 has been my year of hockey romances, and they are my newest obsession. This book was hockey-tastic. I loved all of the hockey details, but they absolutely didn't get in the way of the romance.

The romance was... gah, amazing. I can go either way with reunited former lovers stories, but this one gutted me. Slow-burn, painful closet, sneaking around... it destroyed me in the best way. I was near tears at times, and I feeeelt for these guys. Their love story wrecked me, and I thought that their chemistry was insane.

I could go on and on gushing about this story, but the bottom line is that Sarina Bowen crafted a beautiful love story and picked perfect narrators to bring it to life. I will forever read Sarina Bowen now because this story blew me away. JUST BUY IT!

I feel the ending was rushed, but still loved it.

one of the best book series I've listened to in nearly a year! I love it so much that I can't get it or if my head. I feel the ending was rushed a little, just the very last chapter 15. but I am almost curious! will their be a part 4? I feel it's possible for a full novel of Never Never. it's something I'd love to listen to, or read. thank you.

Not for me

I didn't like the charachters, the story ended very weird and kind of cheesy. I usually love both of these authors' works, but this whole series just wasn't my thing.

Closure- thank goodness!

The story was so strange in the first 2 parts of this series, but I felt like this book really brought it all together and gave a very satisfying ending. I finally understand all the weird characters in the first 2 books and why they had to be there. I wasn't so sure I'd recommend this series after the first 2 books, but definitely would after this one. The narrators were solid through the whole series. Give it a listen if you are looking for something different from the twisted minds of Tarryn & Colleen.

This series was a fun and sweet story! This was the second time I listened to it, and even as a second time through it held my attention.

I have enjoyed this series. Anytime a book is easy to spend time with and engages me at the same time, it gets high marks.

Five Happy Stars overall!!!

This is the second book I have read in this series and I have to admit I love the humor Ms. Grey instills in her stories. Her heroine is not your typical barbie doll type, but a flawed human embarking on a career. True the love interests help them get their start ..... but the narration is good, the story is light hearted and fun. I did not mind using a credit for either book. This book is a feel good, humorous listen!!

Too bad about the last bit.

It was quite a fun read. But the ending with an unneccessarily hysterically shouting Joesephine in the car and the ditch. Was just stupid at the end. Like Lily shouting and in disbelief about Julian, was over the top and unlike the tone of the rest of the book. Where there at least was more of a talking tone.

Loving These Rocker Bad Boys!!

I enjoyed this book but Holy Baggage! Tamar has a huge secret that is making her run and making her isolate her self from everyone. Lyrik carries around a major guilt for his actions in the past and it makes him think he can never have a relationship. These two are a huge ball of angst! The love story, the drama, the secrets and watching these two characters shed their baggage was awesome. After the 1st two books in this series, I can say I was a little let down on the heat in this book. Yeah there is sex and it's hot but not nearly as much as I was expecting. Can't wait for the next book!

Sweet Love Story!

I enjoyed this story, it was very sweet. I love a friends to lovers kinda story. Justin went from Jerk to completely swoon worthy. The writing was great, the story sweet, the sex was hot. I was expecting it to be way dirtier because this author usually is but I still enjoyed the romance & love story. The story went in a direction I didn't see coming but I don't always read the synopsis so maybe that is why.

The narration was good too!

A Bit Juvenile

I almost couldn't finish this book. For one thing it wasn't very hot, sex or even play didn't happen until really close to the end. And the adversarial roommate idea (you know the reason for the title) was only a small section. Mostly it was a starting a family fantasy featuring the most annoying bad communication and irrational behavior I've read in a while. Not hot, not funny or clever. meh.

Just Okay

This started off good but I wasn't impressed with this as I was with the author's other novel "stepbrother dearest". The story was a little predictable at times. About half way through, the story kind of went awry. I really wanted to like this but as a whole I found it lacking.

Buildup took too long

Great story but the buildup was entirely too long. Best friends and lots of angst.

Not erotica

I found this book under the "erotica" section. The sex scenes started 6.5 hours in, and there were only two of them and they didn't even get to do it the first time. The storyline is good if you want just a plain ol chick flick novel.

Great start to this short series

I don't normally listen to "serial" type releases, but i gave in and decided to try this one since it sounded so good. I did really enjoy this book, It was only 2 hours long so it didn't have a lot of meat but was a great start to the series. The sex scene was hot and the build up to the story line made me want to read more.

The narration is very good too.

Hot

Interesting twist, twins, mistaken identity, and unknown threat. Hannah and Harley are twins, good and bad. The Google twin discovers she has a dark twist to her desires fulfill by her sisters boyfriend, unknown to him in the middle of the night. Mistaken identity..which again occurs 6 years later.

I didn't like how quickly Hannah fell for this cruel man...waiting to see what happens next..

Narrators were great!

You don't want to miss this series!

Lili Valente has a dark twisted mind to come up with the stories she does but they are magnificent. She really knows how to bring the spark.

Dark Domination is a quick introduction to the twins and is Hannah and Jackson's story. Harley did a very bad thing to Jackson and now he wants to make her pay. Unbeknownst to him, the girl he is about to make a deal with to get back at is Harley's twin, Hannah. They had one night together a while that Hannah hasn't forgotten and Jackson isn't prepared for her reaction to him.

The narration makes this story even better. Summer Roberts and Tyler Donne do an excellent job of capturing Hannah and Jackson. I can't wait to listen to the rest of this series!

Love this series!!!

Twins get mistaken for each other all the time; however, this case of mistaken identity is quite different. Jackson Hawke was destroyed by Harley, Hannah's twin sister. Jackson tracks down who he believes is Harley, hiding out on an island but she is struggling financially. So Jackson sets up a proposition to help her, but also wanting to make her pay for how she ruined him. Unbeknownst to Jackson, this is Hannah, and he also doesn't realize that they actually spent one night together that Hannah has not forgotten.

Outstanding settings -- CA - Alaska

Thank goodness for something NOT based in NYC. Would have enjoyed a few local references in Newport Beach. Overall relaxing read if you like an occasional Hallmark-moment story. A bit too many eyes that have a mischievous or sparkling twinkle or that twinkled devilishly and a mouth that twitched at the corner (in an attempt to not smile I guess). Narrator excellent except for the mother's voice.

Enjoyed listening

Easy to listen to Coleen. The descriptive words chosen by Edie really transported me to Alaska. Very good story line.
