She could save the world - or destroy it.

If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him?

Great new series (for teens and adults too!)
I am a fan of Kresley Cole's work, so I did not think twice before purchasing this audio book. I was not disappointed!
Of course, this is not the usual adult fiction that you might expect from this author: this is obviously meant for teens (some romance, some 'heat' here and there, but markedly toned down in comparison with, say, the Immortals After Dark series).
I loved the story. The fantasy world woven throughout is captivating, the characters are interesting, and I could not predict most of what was going to happen in the story. The writing is excellent, and even though there are some 'teen story cliches' in a few places (some 'Twilight' flavor at the start), you forget it as the mysteries unfold. Kept me hooked from beginning to end!
Best of all with this audio book: the narrators. The novel is split into parts that are alternately narrated by the main character (Evelyne) and a vilain (Arthur). Each is read by a different narrator, and both do an AMAZING job of it! I am convinced that though reading this novel on paper would be great, the narrator performance makes this an audio must!
In short, I can't wait to read the sequel!!!!
I have a crush on YA books
WOW! I was a little nervous when I first heard Kresley Cole was taking a break from her IAD series to write a YA novel. But, I gave it a try and was NOT disappointed. I really LOVED this book. As always, Ms. Cole is amazing at story-telling and world building. She is brilliant at character development and her imagination is genius! Emma Galvin is a PERFECT narrator for YA books (she is one of my favorites).
Its been a long time since Ive been considered a young adult but I have to say I absolutely love this genre.

I can't wait for the third book!
Review originally posted at YA Love
Audiobook Review: I read The Girl of Fire and Thorns traditionally and absolutely loved it. Besides enjoying the narrator, the main reason I decided to listen to The Crown of Embers is because I dont always like reading books in the middle of a series during the school year; most times Id rather read a stand alone or the beginning of a series. I often save series continuations or endings for the summer when I feel like I have more freedom to read what I want, when I want. Anyway, I very much enjoyed Jennifer Ikeda as a narrator for this story. I honestly dont know if Ill read the third book traditionally or as an audio now that Ive experienced both. What I liked most about listening to The Crown of Embers is being able to hear the correct pronunciations of names and places. I never knew how to pronounce Ximena while I was reading the first book, and of course, I was pronouncing it wrong. Jennifer Ikeda does a nice job bringing a different voice to each character and really bringing Elisas character to life.
Book Review: I love this series. Rae Carson is such a talented fantasy author. I cant wait to read book three, but Im even more excited to see what other worlds and stories shell write in the future. I love her use of imagery and pacing. Picturing the setting comes easily as does imagining the characters.
I cant write this review without bringing up the relationship between Elisa and Hector. Its such a strong friendship in the beginning and now its blossoming into something more. Even when Elisa was in love with Humberto, I was hoping she would recognize Hector as more than a guard. Their relationship might be a new favorite YA romance for me. Hector is so honorable and strong and Elisa is finally beginning to gain some self-confidence and strength. Theyre a great match.
The Crown of Embers is a bit slower than The Girl of Fire and Thorns, but I think thats because so much more of the story is building. Elisa is maturing and really finding herself as a carrier of the Godstone and also as a queen. Were also learning more about the Godstone and were learning more about the realm. Im excited to see where all of this build-up is going to take us in book three, especially with an ending like we have in this book! The ending is bittersweet, but it also left me feeling proud of Elisa.
Overall, I cant recommend this series enough. I included The Girl of Fire and Thorns as a fantasy option in my YA II class and the majority of my students who chose it loved it.

    Members Reviews:
    This is fantasy?
I enjoyed this book and its characters. My only concern about this book is with the "fantasy/supernatural" portions, which seem like they could be cut out entirely from this first book in the series and no one would bat an eye or even notice. I didn't even realize from reading the description or from anything I've heard about the book from other people that there was anything to do with "powers" or magic in the book. Maybe it'll become more apparent in the next few books in the series why the authors felt the need to add fantasy to their book about revenge.
Other than questioning that small part, these books are entertaining and all three of the main girls are interesting to learn about.
    Amazing!
Would you consider the audio edition of Burn for Burn to be better than the print version?
Idk, do not own the paper version
Who was your favorite character and why?
    Kat
    Any additional comments?
What a great story. It was so easy to read. I couldn't put the book down. I loved that each girl had their own personality and social circle. I loved how they all came together and became "friends". I can't wait to read the next book!
    Entertaining but Glitchy
Burn For Burn is a tale of three wronged girls and their plot for revenge, and is kind of a cross between Pretty Little Liars, Fury, and maybe Carrie? With two authors, and three POVs, you may expect the story to get confusing, but Han and Vivian are a great writing team and I found the story easy to follow for the most part. There were some technical problems with the audiobook, but I did like that there are three narrators to line up with the three book leads.
The setting is the resort town of Jar Island. Lillia, Kat, and Mary are three girls bonded by their desire to take down their frenemies. Lillia is the pretty and rich one, who wants to protect her little sister from the guy who hurt her. Kat is tired of all the gossip and the Regina George of her school tormenting her. And Mary is back on Jar Island after a long absence. The guy she trusted bullied her, and now shes back with a new sleek figure and a need for revenge.
This book is the first book of a trilogy, and sets up the backstory well and gives you a feel for the characters. Once the trio comes together to hatch their plan the story kicks into high gear. At first, everything goes off without a hitch, but soon the girls get in over their heads.

    Wonderful
What did you love best about Iron's Prophecy?
I loved it and am looking forward to the next book. She brought back Puk and Ash.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Razer, a small gremlin who is a pet of of the prince. He is a bundle of fun and loves sheep. I love it when he says "Bad Kitty!"
What does Khristine Hvam bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
The way he does the voices. And Razer "Bad kitty!" again loved it.
    Any additional comments?
I didn't read the book before this one so I had no idea that that the lead charters were related. It made the story more interesting as I tried to figure out who Kerin was..
    short 2 important facts revealed
I still don't like these short little blurb books. they seem like a way to generate quick income. you don't get much out of them and they should just be included in the next book.
    Good for all ages
My 13yr old daughter and I have loved listening to this series together. It's fun for all ages.
    Too short
Needed something more, way too short
Nothing new is discussed from about the first ten minutes on. Pretty lame. A
    The in between
Enjoyable tale between tales. Most memorable moments are of the iron queen's shows of strength in the wishing tree and dreaming pool sequences.

    Perfect Segue
    Any additional comments?
It had been well over a month since reading, Iron King, so Winter's Passage was the perfect segue back to Iron Daughter. I was reminded of the story, character's and why I wanted to continue with the series.
    Moving On!
    short
It was short and I wonder why it is not combined with the next book. I wonder if it was written after the next book? the story still has my attention but I am not totally wrapped up in it.
    Leaves the reader hanging
Faery romance that drops off at the end. I guess you are supposed to read the next story. Narration is not bad. The story has some good descriptions but falls flat.
    Loved it!
Confusing at first only because it's been a while since I finished the first book of this series. Other then that, it left you wanting more....
Added very little (nothing, really) to series
Could easily have skipped this and not feel like I missed a thing... Reader was above average (as usual). I'm having trouble justifying this being published separately, even as an ebook exclusive, unless it was free. Even then, it just didn't add any depth or dimension or new character insight. Waste of $3, VERY glad I didn't waste a credit.

Rapture, the fourth & final Fallen novel, is the Lauren Kate book the world has been waiting for.
The sky is dark with wings....

The astonishing conclusion to the Fallen series. Heaven can't wait any longer.

    Perfect finale
What did you love best about Rapture?
I've been waiting what seems like forever for this finale and it did not disappoint. I will miss Daniel and Lucinda but the ending was PERFECT!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Rapture?
    **SPOILER ALERT**
When Lucinda remembers that she was previously the lover for Lucifer. That was crazy!
A great ending to an exciting series
What did you love best about Rapture?
I loved the ending! It was perfect
Have you listened to any of Justine Eyres other performances before? How does this one compare?
I listened to The Fallen and loved it. Justine Eyre did a masterful job telling the story.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending. Throughout the series I wondered how it would come together. Lauren Kate wrote a perfect ending - in itself a new beginning. Her characters are amazing. I loved them all.
    Any additional comments?
I can't wait for her next book. Luce is a strong young woman, smart, athletic, thoughtful, smart and able to stand on her own. Sometimes when the male characters are so charismatic the heroine is diminished. Luce was surrounded by gorgeous, charismatic angels and stood toe to toe with all of them.
Story decent but reader is horrible
What did you like best about Rapture? What did you like least?
The reader of this series almost made me give up on it altogether. I did not find her cadence, tone, or characterizations to add anything beneficial to the book.
    I love this series!!!!!!!!!
Omg!!! I love this series so much!! I have never connected to a series so much, I have been reading this since I was 13 the first book Fallen I read and it helped me come out of a huge depression in my life and it helped me through so much.
It gave me this love for books about angels and demons and love that no other book ever has.
You will fall in love with this series in the first chapter! I recommend this book to everyone who wants a friend (cause these characters are so real.) and anyone who needs to believe in true love again.
I can't say enough good about this book series, and rapture was the perfect ending!!!
    Read this book!!!
    So amazing!!
My first true love in book form!
    Another book, PLEASE!
I honestly loved this series. The only downside is that some things were never really explained.... like, I would have loved to know more about Trevor's death. They mentioned it in the first book and it was never touched on again.

    FABULOUS Story!
This is a fantastic book, a truly worthy follow-up to "Unearthly." My only problem with it is that I would have liked MORE, and I guess I've got to wait until January 2013 to get my fix! I bought this the day it was published in print, and then waited very impatiently for the audiobook. The re-read via audio was very satisfying, and I thought the narrator did a fine job.
But ... mostly I'm just greedy. :-) Cynthia Hand draws me in so completely, fills this story with so much meaty material, that I just want to sit and feast until I can't hold another word.
This is an absolutely wonderful, incredibly compelling story that will take over your heart and thoughts for days. I am a huge fan of this series, and will be rattling around Ms. Hand's website for the next year dying for glimpses of the next installment!
    Fun series
This is for teenagers, but I have liked the series so far. Nothing too dep, but not boring either. If you like Twilight, this is about the same level.
    it's ok
the love triangle gleen is not written well in this book idk it doesn't feel real there is no real climax to me is just a bunch of little bumps nothing major or memorable about it.
    better than the first
This book was harder to put down when compared to the first. it has a faster pace and better execution than the first.
    good 2nd book
enjoyed this, but wish she didn't use the loss name in vain so much. it was never used in the 1st one

Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times best seller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.
    Members Reviews:
    A Great Sequel !!
Okay. I'll admit it. When I first started listening to this audiobook, I was doing so just because I read the first book and I wanted to know what happened to Alex and Lana, and to see if they made it into the Wilds safely. Once that was figured out (sorry, I'm not giving any spoilers), I did find the story, and the "Now" and "Then" perspectives just a bit confusing to me...but I quickly got with the program.
In this follow-up to Delirium, we see Lana's character grow immensely and really come into herself. We also see the introduction of an almost entirely new cast of characters.
There are so many things that I would love to go into about Alex, Julian, and her Lana's mom, but that would be giving away just too many potential spoilers...and it would totally ruin the experience for anyone about to listen to the book. Just know that Sarah Drew does a wonderful job at expressing the emotion in Lana's voice; and that is definitely needed in this book because poor Lana is put to so many tests, emotionally and physically.
Let me just say that by the end of the book I was (literally) sitting on the edge of my bed, wide-eyed, and by the last words uttered by the narrator, I was cursing out loud because the book was over and I cannot believe that Lauren Oliver expects us to sit and wait until February, 2013 for Requiem to come out so we can find out what happens next!!!!!
    Remarkably Mature for YA
As an editor at Audible there are a couple awesome perks of my job. One of the best ones is that occasionally I can get my hands on the pre-pub galley of a book before it hits the shelves of any bookstore . And sometimes there is a book Im simply DYING to get my hands on as soon as possible, like Pandemonium. I read this book way before the audio recording was even ready devouring it over a weekend, ignoring all but the most critical commitments. This is one of those series that crosses formats for me. I love it so much that I read it (twice) and am now listening to it too. If there was a movie Id probably line up with girls half my age and squeal until being let into the theater. A lot of YA titles work like this they are so readily consumable and the stories are so fast-paced that you just get swept along and want to experience the story over and over and in different ways.
Not everyone is going to love this book (and series) the way I do. I know its not for everyone, but it totally worked for me. Lauren Oliver has come up with a decidedly compelling dystopian concept: Love is illegal and surgically removed from everyone at the age of 18. Her heroine is perhaps less unique: Lena originally believes in the strict society and all of its rules, but as she falls in love she turns against them. But dont dismiss this as a teenage first-love sob-fest though Delirium could be accurately described this way.

    Nice and Easy
Where does Fallen in Love rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
first audiobook for me. It was a good. I like the short stories about the different characters in the Fallen series.
    hated the voices
This narrator does amounting voices that don't add to the story but instead take away.
Could have done without this one
    Any additional comments?
This felt like filler that was unneeded. I don't really feel a connection to the other characters, and the stories were so short that they didn't build the connection. The story about Luce/Daniel was best, but still didn't move the overall series forward. This book definitely fits between books 3 and 4 because of the time it takes place, but you could probably skip it and be fine too.
Great ' fill the gap' teaser between novels
What made the experience of listening to Fallen in Love the most enjoyable?
Hearing tales from within the 'Fallen' series from other characters point of view. I love this. i wish more of these franchise serious world be adventurous like this.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fallen in Love?
Looking behind the glass at the other fallen angels relationships
    Which scene was your favorite?
Spoiler.... Watching Luce get a gift from her friends that was supposed to be from Daniel. It was like being in on a joke.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I did as it was short and I listen at 3x.
    What a treat!
Great collection of stories! They all connect around Luce and Daniel, but stand on their own as well. It was nice to hear more about the background of some of the characters from the Fallen series and it gave much more depth to the final book in the series. I definitely recommend reading it after Passion and before Rapture.

Their unlikely alliance forges a bond that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.

    Amazing! A must read
What did you love best about Under the Never Sky?
It was constantly thrilling and completely unpredictable! I get rediculously bored reading books where I can guess the ending.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Under the Never Sky?
The fight against the cannibals kept me in suspense, that's for sure.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes! If it was in hard copy, I'd say that I just couldn't put it down, it was great
    Any additional comments?
I'm really excited for a hopeful sequel- but if there isn't one, this book stands great on its own.
    Kept me listening!
This book had just enough sci-fi and just enough dystopia. And when I say sci-fi I mean futuristic high tech stuff, NOT aliens etc.
I know this book has mixed reviews but I really enjoyed it. The love story in it has a bigger part in the story than I thought it would, but that only made me like it more (I'm a sucker for a good love story!).
The book was both exciting and interesting, I really liked the juxtaposition of a futuristic society and a more or less primitive one. GREAT twist at the end :)
    Excited for the next book!
    Beware of the Triology
It seems all the rage these days to write a trilogy leaving the reader wanting and waiting for more (those evil genius marketing people) . I usually try to stay clear of reading a series until at least 2 books are complete, however, I gave this one a shot after seeing many positive reviews.
BEWARE: there is a big cliff hanger at the end
If you like a good YA story and don't mind waiting for a complete story resolution I would highly recommend this book. I was immediately drawn in and I enjoyed the high-tech dystopian society that Veronica Rossi has created. This book made me laugh, cry and scared me a little too. It had the right mix of everything.
I love YA books and I never expect any of them to be literary classics. I read them for pure pleasure and the joy of an easy read.
    Excellent Story!
I wasn't really sure what to expect when I started this audiobook, but what I found was a wonderfully unique story that I really loved. The post-apocalyptic world that Veronica Rossi created was both terrifying and very creative.
