    Title: Legal Discrimination
    Author: Nehemiah Flynt
    Narrator: W.B. Ward
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 6 hrs and 1 min
    Language: English
    Release date: 08-31-15
    Publisher: Clarence F. Thompson, Jr.
Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 2 votes
Genres: Bios & Memoirs, Personal Memoirs
    Publisher's Summary:
Imagine finding out that you had been brainwashed into believing you were helping people, but you were actually hurting them.
For years, Nehemiah Flynt provided therapeutic foster care without realizing the harm he was helping the government inflict on innocent children and families. By the grace of God, the blinders fell off and he began to see the wickedness of "the system."
Children's bodies were being pumped full of experimental medications, parents' homes were being raided based upon false allegations, young people were being pulled out of school so frequently they were falling behind academically, and youth were being moved unnecessarily from placement to placement, causing them to develop attachment disorders and more.
When Nehemiah began to question the maltreatment of children and teenagers in the state's care, he was threatened with having his foster home shut down. Not knowing what else to do, he backed off for a while. However, he eventually decided enough was enough and ceased fostering.
Later, Flynt took charge of a successful Christian-based facility for at-risk youth. He soon learned, however, that the government of the United States is so narrow-minded that they would stop at nothing to close any facility operating under moral or religious principles differing from their own devilish agendas.
Legal Discrimination will be an eye-opener for the majority of its listeners. You'll be shocked when you find out how the government has created agencies that operate above the law simply to discriminate against biological families (especially conservative Christian homes), private schools, homeschooling families, and anyone who expects their constitutional rights to be upheld.

A heartbreaking look at our broken systems.
An accurate glimpse into the system created to protect abused children. If you are not closely affected by the US child protective service system, you would think this book was fiction, unfortunately it is the harsh reality. Innocent families are destroyed every day. Nehemiah shares his experiences as a mentor, foster parent & director of a Christian program for troubled youth. Nehemiah opens the door to the harsh reality of a broken system that is failing our children, destroying families & persecuting Christians. A must read for parents & all Christians.
    Marginalizing Christians and harming children
I had never listened to an audio book before. It was different. I enjoyed being able to listen across all of my devices, because I could listen while going about my day.
I have been following news reports of the lawless actions of our governmental programs: HHS and CPS. They are very corrupt corporations. They will remove a well-cared for child from loving parents while at the same time they will leave abused and neglected children in abusive homes. Such evil!
In case you didn't know, HHS stands for Health and Human Services,
and CPS stands for Child protection services- These agencies were designed to promote health and safety, but in reality, they do none of that.

A semi-autobiographical retrospective of the childhood games typically played at school in the UK during the 1970s and 1980s, times much different than today...
As I produce this book, I find myself quickly approaching my 50th birthday. With that milestone on the horizon, it has made me rather nostalgic about the "old days" as I took my formative steps into this world during the 1970s and 1980s in the UK.
Life was simpler back then in many ways: there was no Internet, no smartphones, no Twitter, no Facebook, no social media, no games consoles. At home and at school, you made your own fun using your imagination.
There were all sorts of games we would play to entertain ourselves and learn about life and relationships while we were at it - real life relationships and friendships. I find myself looking back on those times more and more today. And that's why I wrote this book. I wanted to reflect back on those times so you can reminisce with me, or perhaps discover childhood games for the first time.
Minor injuries were not uncommon. Skinned knees and elbows often suffered from a fall playing soccer, or perhaps finger, thumb, or rusty bum. So that's where my title comes from.
Here are a few of the innocent (or perhaps some not so innocent) games from my childhood you will hear about:

    TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE
Pleasant afternoon read for those old enough to remember growing up as a child without internet, video games, cell phones and personal computers. The author grew up in Great Britain. As an American reader, for me, there were similarities and differences. I clearly remember being "it" and playing hopscotch. Finger, Thumb or Rusty Bum sounded a bit scary to me; marble and hide and seek were two classics that I fondly remember. We kept in shape by participating in skipping games and cops and robbers. One of my favorites was "freeze tag," which the author remembers as Statue.
In any case, readers who are fifty plus will take a walk down memory lane while reading this short book.
    Interesting reflections!
This is an interesting look back to the 70's and a completely different way of life than we find today. I wish the author would have added more personal reflections in the book, but talking about the games reminded me of my own time of growing up. Although I grew up in America, a lot of the games are similar. I hope parents and grandparents will read this book and encourage children and grand-children to venture outside and enjoy their own games. Childhood should be a magical time shared with friends,
    Learnt New Games
Most of the games were derived from a culture that's new for me. Despite that, the games I played as a kid had a lot of common ground with the ones mentioned in the book. It was an exhilarating experience comparing aspects of each game with ours. It turned into a family read.
There were some games, though, that I couldn't understand until I looked at their YouTube videos.

    Title: Wheelz
    Author: Steven C. Fotheringham
    Narrator: Bruce W. Hansen
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 6 hrs and 27 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 08-24-15
    Publisher: Steven C. Fotheringham
Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 11 votes
Genres: Bios & Memoirs, Personal Memoirs
    Publisher's Summary:
"The effect that Wheelz has on the crowd is out of this world. I mean, we have the best in the world of action sports, and more people come to see Wheelz than anybody else." (Travis Pastrana, X Games gold medalist and Nitro Circus organizer, leader and performer)
Many people succeed in spite of great challenges. Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham is not one of those people. When asked by ESPN, "How do you define spina bifida?" Aaron responded, "A great opportunity." Consumed by the simple but logical belief that riding is more fun than walking, Aaron took his wheelchair and turned it into a toy, playing and practicing on it until there was no place he couldn't go. After beating his peers in all the BMX competitions he could enter, Aaron became the unicorn of the Nitro Circus team, the ultimate dream of every BMX rider and skateboarder alike. Aaron's biography so far includes pain, determination, failure, motivation, and unimagined success. And yet these things are incidental to the real story. What makes his story great is that his attitude is contagious, and Wheelz is anything but quarantined.

    Inspiring
What a inspiring book to listen to on a long trip, which is what we did. The adventures and journey of this amazing young man was life fulfilling. No matter what life deals you in the way of obstacles and trials this book can help you deal with it. Love the attitude Aaron, you go and conquer the world. The narration was suburb, and easy to listen on a long trip, kudos to all involved with this project.
    Inspiring and Very Entertaining
Would you listen to Wheelz again? Why?
Yes! It makes me realize that everyone has tough things that they have to get through in life but if we don't limit ourselves we can succeed far beyond what we imagined possible.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved how the author broke it down and made the story real. This is not some perfect kid who was born with super human powers. This is the story about a kid who had what most people would consider the world stacked against him and who refused to be pushed down. He pushed against the world's boundaries with hours of sweat, blood, and tears to earn every inch of success he received.
What does Bruce W. Hansen bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Bruce Hansen brought the story to life for me. The emotion he is able to communicate through voice, tone and inflection, helped me to feel like I was there in the crowd watching Aaron chanting, "Wheelz, Wheelz, Wheelz... "
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
"Wheelz is a fighter that can't be held back!"
    Any additional comments?
Thank you for sharing this empowering story! I will recommend it to anyone looking for a good read.
    Inspiring Life's Lessons
The obvious lesson from this book is that a young man has inspired us to realize we can accomplish things that to others seem impossible. Aaron's indomitable spirit and courage have changed and will change many lives. I normally don't read a lot or listen to many books other than technical ones but this book was very interesting to me and most of it flowed very quickly. It is much more than a book about wheelchair stunts. It was intriguing to understand how the spirit in this young man opened unchartered territory and changed the world.

I derived the principles and rules from my experience, conversations with my lawyer/partner, observing several friends as they meandered and muddled through their divorce proceedings, and written cases that were similar to mine, all of which I found to be instructive - some of which I found to be bizarre as well.

    Any additional comments?
This audiobook is a warm and funny story of one woman's struggle to cope when adult children returned home. From the confusing press of chaotic living conditions; to sacrificing her vacation to entertain and raise grandchildren; to the frustration of being denied space to breathe, The book is an engaging look at a very real balancing issue in today's hectic world by every parent whose adult children are wanting to come back home.

Very nicely written and beautifully narrated. What a lovely sense of humor.
It is so true to life that I couldn't help but wonder if the authoress had somehow peered into my life. But I'm one of the lucky ones now. My children eventually left.
No one warned me either! Read or listen to the book and you will know exactly what I mean.
    Super Fun Listen!
    Narration - Barbara Benjamin-Creel - Really Good
This book is pretty comical and Barbara read it with excellent comedic timing. I honestly felt like it was the author narrating the book, so great job!
The book is a hoot. It's a bit of a tongue in cheek look at life with the kids back in the house when you were just getting ready to kick back and enjoy life without all the chaos!
The author gives humorous tips for 'adult child' proofing your house to encourage their desire to once again take flight back out into the real world. But it's not just about adult children coming back home - she also has sections that deal with caring for an ailing parent and the additions of grandchildren back into the nest.
While it's not entirely a serious book, there are some legitimately good ideas and strategies presented in a delightfully humorous way. Really enjoyed it!

    Title: See Sam Run

    Narrator: Kristi Burns
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 4 hrs and 22 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 06-09-15
    Publisher: University Press Audiobooks
Genres: Bios & Memoirs, Personal Memoirs
    Publisher's Summary:
In See Sam Run, award-winning writer and journalist Peggy Heinkel-Wolfe describes how her parenthood quickly descended into chaos as her son, Sam, became uncommunicative and unmanageable. "I'd grown to hate making entries in his baby book," she writes. "The energy I had before he was born, when I wrote paragraphs anticipating his arrival, was gone now. Writing down Sam's barest achievements felt fraudulent." Little by little she found a new truth: that by learning to understand the ugliness inside herself, she learned to love her new life and her son, and to harness, at last, the energy she needed to realize Sam's fullest potential.
See Sam Run reaches deep into the heart of anyone whose life has been touched by developmental disability, and it will resonate profoundly with those who have been transformed by a newfound ability to love.
The book is published by University of North Texas Press.
    Critic Reviews:
"This is a book written from the heart by a mother nearly driven to madness.... [A]s her journey of discovering what ails Sam unfolds, many parents will find themselves hooked." (George Getschow, writer in residence, Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism at the University of North Texas)
"See Sam Run is well written and poignant as well as emotionally satisfying for the reader. The author's narrative voice is strong, intelligent and authentic. Her story is one that is important to get out." (Dianne Aprile, Spalding University)

A map to guide you through the maze when something is not quite right with your child.
I preordered See Sam Run, and started reading it the day it arrived in my mailbox. The next morning, when I woke up with a stomach upset, I was thankful that I could call in sick and finish reading it.
This book took me on a familiar journey thorough the haze of denial, the thick fog of despair that descends when denial is no longer possible, then through the maze of discovery trying to find a professional who would listen without condescension or judgment, and provide the help we needed. What a relief to learn that I am not the only mother who has harbored those thoughts and feelings, faced the cold, bare truth, and fought and clawed her way through that maze.
The picture this narrative paints of Sam's day to day life helped me clarify and map our own journey. I cried traveling back through those painful memories. I cried for my son and Sam, for Peggy and Mark and me. Taking the journey with and through another helped heal the scars.
I laughed too. I laughed at the quirky, funny boy that is Sam. I laughed at the captions he wrote for the pictures. I laughed in relief that we have found, after all that running, an easier pace.
My son is not autistic. He has Sensory Integration Dysfunction. I'm not sure if he has something else because we gave up trying to find out. We decided to just deal with it. He now compensates beautifully.
There are many resources in the back of this book to help ease the journey other parents and children face. This book provides a map through the maze.
When a parent admits something is wrong and that they need help, why is it so torturous to find that help? That's the question I was left with after reading this book; and that is the question that needs an answer.
