Well-written account of teen twin killers

Nikki was only a teenager when her twins, Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah, were born. She and the girls lived with her grandmother. As the twins got older, they became more and more uncontrollable.

Nikki tried and failed to place restrictions on Tas and Jas, but, in addition to becoming wilder, their resentment toward Nikki increased.

Wow!!!

Hard to imagine this, but they did it. Story tells about their lives, and gives some sort of explanation why...no excuse in my book.

Okay, but too brief

The story was OK. It was more like reading someone's essay or report of the crime rather than an actual crime story. Definitely not a story I would read again nor would I suggest this to another true crime reader like myself.

This was too short of a story. While interesting in parts to read, a little more detail would be better.

Excellent

The book was a true lesson in the importance of humility and how a moment of poor decision making can define our future. Great book for all to read and a real lesson in life.

Pride Cometh before the Fall...

I like the lessons this book teaches very much. It is an excellent teaching tool for those who think they are smarter than everyone else and for those who believe they can do wrong and not get caught. This is a 'Scared Straight' presentation on steroids. Bravo to Robison for his transparency AND his transformation!

Riveting

Besides being a very engrossing read, this book actually teaches some very good life lessons that we should all be aware of. I would definitely recommend this book.

Great mini book about Female Spree Killer Sylvia Seegrist, a schizophrenic who bought a rifle and shot up a Pennsylvania mall. Unfortunately she didn't get the help she needed and acted out violently

A look into a female serial killers reaaons

I hadn't heard of this woman before but Song does a good job walking you through Sylvia 's history and her crime.

Short but interesting

It's interesting how defiant this woman was before and after the mall shooting, but it's also kind of sad (I hurt for her mother by the way)that she didn't get the help she needed and that she has to spend the rest of her life in prison instead of a mental institute.

There's no safe place

Sylvia Seegrist was a disturbed child who became a disturbed woman. A paranoid schizophrenic, she refused to take the medication that would control her illness.

Obeying the voices in her head, she managed to purchase a gun. Dressed in camouflage clothing with her pockets filled with ammunition, she drove to the Springfield, Pennsylvania mall and started shooting.

Great mini book about the Hilley case

Great mini book about Serial Arsenic Poisoner Audrey Marie Hilley. Marie, as she was called was a spoiled only child who was a compulsive shopper since an early age and was always preoccupied with money. After poisoning her husband Frank to death (Drs thought he died from hepatitis and (of course) his widow Marie didn't ask for an autopsy she inherited $30,000 and blew through it in record time and then bought a $100,000 policy on her daughter Carol Hilley who she then began poisoning with arsenic in her food and occasionally she would convince Carol to let her inject her with "medicine" (she also did this to her husband before he died) and came very close to killing her daughter before the Drs tested Carol for heavy metal poisons and discovered she had been poisoned with arsenic. Marie was arrested but posted bond and escaped before she could be brought to trial and wasn't recaptured for three years. When she was returned to jail she told a jailhouse informant that she had tried to kill her daughter both for the money and because she believed that her daughter was a lesbian. She was convicted and sentenced to Life, but escaped 7 years later when she got a 3 day furlough, but was later found dying of hypothermia close to the prison she had escaped from

Plus bonus story

Great read, sad, about the Hilley daughter. This woman used poison on them. The effects were devastating, for the family members who survived.

If I can't remember reading it, it must not have been that good.

Poorly written includng lack of content and effort

Endnotes are missing. You can find most of the info on Wikipedia. The "bonus" is rife with grammatical and copy errors. Bonus is half of the book. Misleading.

Disappointing

Save your money and just read the previous review. This book was nothing that I haven't already read online or saw on the episode of "Unsolved Mysteries" profiling the case. The writing was very elementary and several times the author mixed up the names Marie and Carol. Also, nearly half of the book was a profile of a completely unrelated case??

Although this is a short book, it still warrants reading if you enjoy true crime. Those four could've just robbed them and been done, but, no, they had to become murderers of the most heinous type.

The writer did an excellent job with this heartbreaking account. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims. I cannot imagine having to go through this.

Great mini book about the Buenoano case

Great mini book about Judy Buenoano, a serial arsenic poisoner who killed 1 husband and 1 boyfriend with arsenic, drowned her disabled oldest son Michael and attempted to kill her fiancee John W Gentry with a car bomb. Buenoano was convicted of Capital Murder and executed in 1998

Straightforward

This gives an informative account of two serial killers. It's a quick read, it's very much like reading a newspaper narrative.

Eehh

It was OK as far as it goes. There just wasn't anything very interesting. Take a page from Ann Rule and dig into the background. This reads almost like a police report with typos.

Meh

As with the other book "Teens Who Kill" this book (and I use the term loosely as it basically not even novella-size) is like a report for a high school class. Basic facts, very little in-depth analysis of Judy Buenoano's motives, background, life. Ridiculous. Could have been a way better true crime book if written by someone else.

Sickening crimes

These Sick Men are Gary Evans, Robert Black, and Joseph Duncan III. In my opinion, men who abduct, rape and murder children are lower than a snake's belly and are incapable of rehabilitation.

The writing was rather sloppy although the content was fine. If I had proofread this book, I would have corrected at least 47 errors.
