    Title: The Uncloaked
Subtitle: The Uncloaked Trilogy, Book 1
    Author: J. Rodes, Jennifer Rodewald
    Narrator: Kevin Lusignolo
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 5 hrs and 15 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 07-19-17
    Publisher: Rooted Publishing
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 3 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Religious & Inspirational
    Publisher's Summary:
No one stirred in the area - people stayed in their little hovels. Hiding, most likely. From the cold, the helplessness. Maybe from the Party. Staying out of sight, like cockroaches.
    I am not a cockroach.
"Apathy is the illness of the overprivileged." Words laced with fear - and maybe a hint of prophecy. His father's words. Words Braxton would prefer to ignore.
Braxton Luther is 16 when the Progressive Reform Party takes over the government. It can't be that bad. So they don't want religion in government - that's constitutional. He can't understand his church's hypersensitive reaction or his father's cryptic warning to stand against the Party's ultimatums.
But after living under the new government for a year, Braxton faces a choice - conform to the demands of the ungodded in order to protect his best friend, Eliza, or defy the system and go into hiding, ensuring a life of misery. Still certain that life will settle back into normalcy in the near future, Braxton chooses compliance.
Then the killings begin, and the threat to Eliza becomes darker than Braxton had ever imagined. Reality finally sinks in.
Apathy is no longer a choice.
PG-13 material. Though this book is Christian fiction, there are dark (but not graphic) scenes that some listeners my find disturbing.

Where does The Uncloaked rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Ranks up there near the top 10!
Have you listened to any of Kevin Lusignolos other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've never listened to any of Kevin Lusignolo's work before but I thought he did a fine job!
    Any additional comments?
A very interesting read that challenges your faith and makes you think about what's going on in the world.
Braxton Luther is your typical, all about me, teenager who doesn't take anything seriously until his self-centered world comes crashing down around him. The Progressive party wins the election, to Braxton that's no big deal but to Eliza Knight it's a huge deal and he needs to wake up fast. Braxton doesn't like anyone forcing him to choose and at the same time he can't figure out what the big deal is why not to just check the box and join the side everyone is on so they can live easier. His family isn't folding against the government control and neither is the Knight's . A group called the Jackals is bullying everyone into joining or lose everything including their lives. Some major blows hit Braxton hard before he wakes and by then things are out of control! Can Braxton choose what's right for such a time as this?
This is the first book in the series.
    Compelling story!
The plot is amazing! The author has done a thorough job at relaying a realistic story of fear and love and the tension that any of us might feel if such vey plausible events were indeed to happen to us. I can't wait to read the next installment of this compelling saga.
My only hesitation in giving full marks are the excessive amounts of flowery analogies.
The voice actor did a great job as well. I grew think and feel with the main characters because of his great performance.

    High Power
The book A Higher Power, was interesting to read. It's about an extremely well off business man, his secretary, and his wife and child. The wife and child disappear on a flight across the ocean, that the man was to join them a few days later. It is a book that is hard to follow for the first few chapters, but gets increasingly interesting the further into it you get. It follows up with the man being blackmailed, his family held for ransom, but through the faith of his secretary, and her connection to a higher power, he begins to believe in thinking outside the box, rescues his son, although it is too late to save his wife. The blackmailer/kidnapper is captured, and the man goes on to live a semi-normal life, with his son, his secretary, and his billions of dollars. Had the story been easier to get into at first, would have given it 5 stars.
    Not about my faith
It showed up christian books and was not about christian faith at all. I did not like the language used in the story at all.
I was disappointed that there was not more substance to his secretary's ...
This story deals with an extremely successful businessman who has everything money could buy but he knows there is more to life than money. I was disappointed that there was not more substance to his secretary's power in communicating with " the other world". The introduction of yet another person who becomes his right hand person in short order is unbelievable for a man with his business acumen. I'm giving it two stars since it started out well, then kind of morphed into yet another story by what I believe is a beginning writer. Not muchA fair read substance to this book.
    A Higher Power
This book was very different from the type I normally read. It had a mellow smooth pace and allowed me to leave it and go to another book or to a game or puzzle without having to back a few pages to submerge me in the novel. Thank you.

    Such a wonderful story!
    Five Stars
The story provided me with great peace.
Could be better, but don't overlook this one...
What a marvelous story! I do think a second edition to make it better in presentation is in order. The Introduction should be an Epilogue and belongs right after the story. Otherwise, the introduction gives the whole story away. At first glance, it seems to be written for adults, not children. A child will be interested in the events that sparked the story after they read the story (reading the story first is like smelling bread baking or coffee perking...it provides anticipation). I had to skip over the Intro to get to the story and read the Intro later, which made the whole experience infinitely more interesting. The Dedication should be right after the Title Page as per usual. Also, you should scrap the Chapters and Chapter Title information. Simple chapter books are for the 12+ crowd and rarely need pictures. They aren't meant for the younger child but to help a preteen advance into more classic literature. Redone, it could go from a good book to a GREAT book with appeal to both children and adults as well.

A Story of Faith and Hope
Amy, a young woman with two small children stumble on to the Morgan's property in the middle of a blizzard.
The children are well buy Amy is sick and has injured her leg. Once her fever breaks and her leg heals Amy doesn't know who she is or how the came to be on the mountain in the middle of a storm.
While the book is a fictional story it is a good tale of God's love and shows how a little faith can carry us through life's trials.
It's well written and the narration is wonderful.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. I enjoyed the book and look forward to more from the author. I will definitely recommend this book to others.
    Enjoyable Story
What made the experience of listening to Gift from the Storm the most enjoyable?
Even though the story had a modern day setting, it still had a very charming old fashioned feel to it. I felt like I was listening to the Waltons or Little House on the Prairie when life was simpler and families closer than at present day.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character was Amy, you couldn't help but sympathize with her struggle to put together the puzzle of who she really was.
    Any additional comments?
Overall the story had a very satisfying ending and was worth listening to. "This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBoom dot com."

A sweet clean faith based book that has mystery, suspense, and a bit of romance. It took a while to get into this storyline, and the characters could have been developed more deeply. It wasn't my favorite but it's ok.

Nice romantic mystery involving two long term friends fighting for their lives. Ruby, a.k.a. Red, is a delivery business woman framed for murder. Robert, a Sergeant, is head over heels for Red and does his best to save the love of his life. This book is a well written romantic mystery that takes some unexpected twists and turns dealing with a new sci-fi technology called the New Rulebook. A good book to listen to.
    A wonderfully written book.
This book is well written with a great mixture of love, faith and dangerous enemies. The faith of one giving strength to the other in a most trying time. Finding their faith first separately, then together. Beautiful.
    Entertaining
This book has a good story. I was not particularly interested in the religious references. I received this book free in exchange of an honest review.
    OK
Where does Red rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
This was one of the better audiobooks I have listened to (interesting characters and a good mystery), until it reached the end of the story, and then dragged on for another six painful chapters.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Finally. Why did it have to go on for six chapters when it could have been concluded in one?
Which character as performed by Andrea Tuszynski was your favorite?
    Emerald Eyes
Who was the most memorable character of Red and why?
    The good twin. No spoilers!
    Any additional comments?
Very heavy religious theme for the last six chapters.
    Unusual
WOW when I was allowed to listen to this free for my opinion, I had no idea how different this was going to be. I have to admit I enjoyed it. Not my usual genre but I'm always game for something new & this certainly was. Get your self a copy, lay back & let it take you away but be prepared for a few surprises

    A Great Read!
    Any additional comments?
I am really enjoying this series! If there is one thing I love it is stories that feature the FBI (so much that I even wrote one myself!) and Kate's Case files is such a fun and unique take on the FBI. I absolutely love this fabulous (and hilarious!) ensemble cast of characters, I especially get a kick out of Logan and all her fun little quirks! It was neat that the majority of this book took place in and around the Texas State Capitol, the author described the surroundings and atmosphere so well that I felt as though I was really there.
I also loved the suspense in the last few chapters!
The message about honoring God with our choices even when it comes to the seemingly little things, was fabulous, and it was a reminder that greatly touched my heart.
Overall, Kate's Capitol kept me engaged from start to finish, I highly recommend it, and am very much looking forward to the next book in the series.
I received an audiobook copy of this book from the author, which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.

    Good for Teens
If you could sum up Deadly Obsession in three words, what would they be?
    Action, suspense, faith
What about Peggy Sowersbys performance did you like?
Peggy was awesome! She brought youthfulness to the story, even though she isn't a teen herself.
    Any additional comments?
Age Appropriate For: 15 and up (theme of girl working to catch sexual predators)
    Best for Ages: 15-20
I think one of that hardest thing for me, as both a lover of books and an author, is to rate first novels. This book is no exception. Santi has so much talent and the book, but it lacked some of the polish of an experienced writer. However, she isnt an experienced writer, so it isnt really that surprising.
First off, this book deals with older men preying on young girls. This is done in a non-graphic way. However, I wouldnt hand this to young or sensitive readers. Because of these, it bumped the MBR (see button below) up to a moderate rating. However, unlike most books that get that rating, most older teens will find this an appropriate read.
This story has a very classic, yet fun set up. A young person doing a job that normally only adults do. While it isnt a huge secret, her classmates dont know. She is leading a double-life so that she can help others. It may be classic, but it works and is fun. I liked that it felt less like Kennedy was lying to her school friends about what she was doing and more like her work and her school life were separate things. I get tired of most books/movies that are full of deceit to keep this kind of storyline going.
The faith message was good for the age group that this is targeted for. For older readers, it will probably feel too simplistic. Dealing with why bad things happen to good people, and anger toward God are some of the things dealt with.
Did I mention that there is an awesome sibling relationship? Well, there is. Kennedy works with her brother. Her brother is protective, loving, and tries to help Kennedy deal with the pain in her past. They also have loving, and supportive parents.
There is a lot of tense scenes in this, a lot of action, and you probably wont want to put the book down. The villain is pretty evil and scary. As I said before, this isnt a book for young or sensitive readers.
As I listened to the audiobook, I also have to say that the narrator, Peggy Sowersby, did a wonderful job.

    Publisher's Summary:
Like many, Destiny is a young woman who struggles with her weight. Her love affair with food began at five years old when her father walked out of her life and her mother was left depressed, never fully getting over the fact that her husband was gone. When Destiny ate, she was able to numb all the pain that life had dealt her. Food became her drug, her lover, her friend. To make matters worse, she was involved in a terrible car accident as a teenager and lost the use of both her legs. Her lack of mobility only accelerated the weight gain.
Strangely, all of those nights lying in bed without the ability to move gave her clarity about how she wanted to help others. Determined to be mobile again, she not only walked, she soared. The accident that was meant to destroy her had given her focus and clarity about how she wanted to help others and why she was put on this green earth. Destiny was determined to become a physical therapist and help others just as she was being helped.
Her hopes of becoming a physical therapist seemed impossible, though. She couldn't figure out how her mother could ever afford to send her to college, especially on her lowly single parent income. Thankfully, Destiny's commitment to learning, hard work, and good grades landed her a full scholarship to Virginia Tech. Accepting this blessing came with a price. Going to Tech meant that she must leave her clinically depressed mother whom she had cared for daily behind in Chicago. She reasoned that accepting the opportunity would allow her to help her mother financially, medically, and emotionally in the future. So, she left Illinois for Virginia and never looked back.
Thankfully, studies in physical therapy went well and without a glitch. Everything was perfect at school except for her social life. During her entire time in college, she was not invited on a single date. Of course, she blamed her lack of romance on her plump figure.

    Beautiful and Inspirational story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Everyone needs a little push in life and to know that everything will be okay. This book will really make you want to restore any lost faith.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I'm torn between Rachel and Destiny. Rachel because of her faith and strong heart and Destiny because of her courage and perseverance. Rachel is the epitome of a strong woman and the backbone of her family, when the devil tried to shake things up she kept it together with poise and class, reminds me a lot of my own grandmother.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    I wanted to, but unfortunately, I couldn't.
    Any additional comments?
The plot twists, the climax, the characters, everything was so well thought out. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more.
    Plot twist of the century!
I loved this story! There was love, heartache and passion for Jesus Christ. The poly took me for more turns than I was prepared for.. but I won't spoil the climax. Rachel is a good woman and she doesn't deserve any of it and her husband is paying for his mistake. Although an accident, the result was still beautiful.
