At 17, Adeelah Naji is transformed into a genie and imprisoned in a bottle. For 1,000 years, she fulfills the wishes of greedy masters - building their palaces, lining their pockets with gold, and granting them every earthly pleasure. All that sustains her is the hope of finding Karim, the boy she fell in love with as a human. When at last she finds a note from her beloved, she confirms he has access to the elixir of life and he still searches for her.
But someone else also hunts her. Faruq - the man who plots to use her powers to murder and seize the life forces of others - is just one step behind her. With the help of a kind master named Nathan, Adeelah continues to search for Karim while trying to evade Faruq. To complicate matters, she begins to experience growing fatigue and pain after conjuring, and finds herself struggling against an undeniable attraction to Nathan.
As Faruq closes in, Adeelah must decide just how much she'll risk to protect Nathan and be with Karim forever. How much power does she really have to change her future, and what is she willing to sacrifice for an eternity of love? If she makes the wrong choice, the deaths of many will be on her hands.
    Members Reviews:
    an amazing genie tale
Adeelah is a troubled genie. She's in love with Karim, a boy she fell for when she was a mortal, but his wicked father Faruq is after her powers for all the wrong reasons. She's controlled by a series of selfish, greedy masters until the last one leaves her under mysterious circumstances. Her bottle pops up in a new location, where a boy named Nathan rubs it and becomes her new master.
Nathan is unlike her other masters. He is kind and sweet. He would like her help in finding love with his friend Cherie, while he's willing to help her reunite with Karim. When Adeelah experiences pain and fatigue, which is unusual for her kind, she tries to rest up, but it's hard to when she's getting acquainted with her new master, his requests, and his agreeable friends. It's also tiresome avoiding Faruq, who won't seem to rest until he acquires Adeelah for his evil intentions.
This well-paced, romantic, suspenseful novel had a great set of characters. I was on Adeelah's side during the whole read, feeling bad for her when she had terrible masters and was in danger with Faruq and rejoicing anytime people were kind to her and she was getting closer to Karim. Nathan was a sweetheart and his friends were amazing; even his troublesome little brother was endearing. Faruq is a villain readers can sink their teeth into.
Unique take on a genie tale!
Adeelah was once a human girl who had fallen in love with a boy name Karim, but his father Faruq was not keen on the idea of his son having anything to do with a peasant and he was also a jealous man who wanted his son's affections all too himself.

    I really enjoyed this book!!
Really creepy in some parts & funny in others. Overall great story. Narration was extremely good at times but sometimes it felt a lack of experience. I enjoyed the clean language and lack of sexual content, A nice change from my usual genre.
Overall I would recommend this book!
Great read, but not for the weak stomached
When it comes to the story itself:
This book was a great read. It was suitably creepy, with descriptions that were quite detailed, so isn't one for the weak stomached. The characters were mostly great too, but there were times when I found myself rolling my eyes while wondering why they were stupid enough to do certain things, or if they really just said the dumb thing they said.
When it comes to the narration:
The narrator did a great job of bringing the story to life and creating an enjoyable listening experience.

    Members Reviews:
    The best installment yet!
I honestly have to say, hands down, that this has been my favorite book of the series so far. I also have to admit that this surprises me considering how much I dislike the point of view character for this book when she first showed up all the way back in book 1. She's grown on me, though, and it helped even more to get to hear her thoughts and feelings in this portion of the story.
And oh boy, the story. Things get even more difficult than ever for the Fluorescent Ones in this book. And in more ways than one. I honestly don't want to give anything away for this one because there was so much happening and it was all pretty amazing.
Really... I just can't think of anything to say because you just need to read (or listen to) this one for yourself and enjoy the ride. I can hardly imagine where it will continue from here and I seriously look forward to finding out in the fourth book!
Also, as usual, a brilliant reading by the author. I continue to be impressed by the amount of life and individuality she gives to the characters.
Makes me so excited for the final book!
Would you consider the audio edition of Fallout to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print copy, but the voices in this are well done and it kept my attention the whole time. I tried to find quite time to listen whenever I could because I was so anxious to hear more.
What other book might you compare Fallout to and why?
It's kind of in a class by itself. It tells the story from an 18 year-old's point of view well, but is very different from other teen novels.
    Which scene was your favorite?
When Karina was being controlled and she couldn't tell what was reality - I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was really going on
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me start the final book right away! Couldn't wait to hear more!
    Any additional comments?
    Highly recommend

    An Adventure with Heart
Review of The Bound: Her's to Save - Book One.
I entered this story with an air of curiosity and intrigue, not knowing what to expect, but like all books, I expect very little to begin with. This is a trait of mine, developed from years of personal strife and loneliness. If I do not have High Expectations, then I cannot be so bitterly disappointed. However, The Bound: Hers to Save, as with the Harry Potter series and my favourite author of all time Brandon Sanderson's novels. This book had taught me, not to enter such things with such a negative attitude.
The Bound begins *No spoilers I promise* with an abused and broken heroine, which immediately caught my attention. As an author myself, I love reading about strong women, rising up from adversity and growing more and more with each turn of the page. However, Aveline's world is so dark and cruel I began to wonder if this would ever happen.
For the first three chapters of this novel I began to actually fear for Aveline, for her father is such a veil and disdainful man, that I actually began to 'hate' him. Which is a very rare sense of mind for me, and I credit Michelle Connor for being able to stir such a powerful emotion in me.
Then one final act of wickedness breaks our heroine completely.
I nearly gave up at that point, the author breeding such an air of hopelessness and submission in Aveline that I (a person who loves strong female characters) actually thought she wasn't going to grow a back bone and be a good little slave for the rest of her life. This is a 'Very' rare sense of readership for me, as I felt I knew Aveline already in such a short introduction to her character. Thus is the skill of this amazing author.
But! Like all good stories. All good heroines. All good heroes throughout both antiquity and in the modern age. It is when you are at your lowest point, that you either find the strength to buck up. Or you buckle beneath the weight.
    Aveline. Does not buckle.
Aveline has her fears. Her concerns when her strength empowers her to flee from cruelty. But she knows this is the only way. The only way she can be happy. Even with regards to her younger brother, who she so clearly loves.

    Members Reviews:
    Very Impressed
The thing I like the best about The Apparition by Dominic A. Bianco is that you can relate so well to the character Angelo and what he is going through in his day to day life. I love that it starts out with just this average guy who is trying to get through school and figure out what he is going to do with himself and make of his life, balancing out friends and family, having a secret crush on the beautiful girl in town, dealing with his own insecurities, they are all things I think a lot of not only young teenagers but adults as well are going to find familiar when reading this book. If that isn't enough he gets this super power thrust upon him and he has to figure out the best way to now manage that and interweave it in to his life.
If you are at all like me and love the Superhero craze that has taken over recently then you are going to love having this new one to root for, I found myself actually cheering him on while reading, I couldn't wait to find out when the villain would strike next or how Angelo would react and would he be able to protect the ones he loves by controlling his new found super powers. I also love the mystery in the book, the villain is not initially revealed and I couldn't stop myself from compiling evidence against characters trying to figure out who it was! The romance also makes a nice touch for ladies who are reading the book as well.
Overall I highly recommend this book! I am very picky about books I read and often have a hard time finding ones I really like, I heard about this one through a friend and decided to give in a try and I am so glad I have. I rave about it to friends and family and insist they order a copy as well. I hope you all find yourselves as immersed as I was in the plot and remember to 'be a hero'!
    A truly interesting novel
I really enjoyed reading this book. The author created a story about a common high school student who is humble yet powerful enough to battle with evil. The plot has clear dilemmas and descriptive details to make the reader feel like they are in the shoes of Angelo Drake. I looked forward to reading this book everyday during my leisure time, because I enjoyed the development of the characters and depth of the plot. I can also reassure that this is not "just an action book"; there is plenty of clear decisive thoughts and interesting social situations that are written in this story. I would recommend this book to any reader who enjoys well written action plots with thought stimulating social situations and interesting twists.
    The Apparition
The Apparition is a book that involves suspense, adventure, family and good morals.

You will not want to stop listening to this one!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I absolutely would suggest that this book be moved to the top of your to do list! From the very start until the last word, I found myself drawn into the story of Zachary and Emma. Zach's grit and determination to be the best, Emma's selfless nature and love for all around her... You would think that he would crush her with his purpose. However this is not necessarily the case! I love that they are each able to balance one another out, and that their journey not only changes their outlook on eternity, but also those around them. Everyone wants a love like that, to stand the test of time and to be a beacon of change or hope. In Zach and Emma's case however, neither one was looking for it, nor did they really want it and for that reason, it's all the more precious!
What other book might you compare Inspiration to and why?
I can't really say that I have read another book like Inspiration. I don't like to compare books to one another. I personally love to read each book as its own entity, and take it for what it is. I do like that there are connections to religion and the drive of nearly all in the story to become someone new - be that good or bad.
    Which scene was your favorite?
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT......I will try to be vague here.
My favorite part of Inspiration would have to be at the very end, when all of the house mates are attempting to work together for a common goal. But in reality.... several people are working in secret unbeknownst to the rest. There is mystery, confusion, drama, pain, fear, love, excitement.... all in the span of a couple of chapters. It was very exhilarating.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely! There wasn't a moment that I truly felt was a good stopping point. The story wanted to be told, and I was as usual - angry when real life got in the way and I had to stop for a little while.
