    Compelling characters, sexy and thrilling
What did you love best about Wrongfully Accused?
I loved that despite the fact that they had avoided one another for years,Kate's and Gabe's love for one another had never faded. The book was very well written, and I thought the plot twists were outstanding.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Wrongfully Accused?
When Kate explained to Gabe what had really happened the night Steven was killed. It was a pivotal and very moving moment in the book.
Have you listened to any of Julia Motykas other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. I liked the narrator but her voice was too soft a lot of the time. She did a good job with both the male and female voices, but I had to turn up the volume here and there.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but it took a lot longer than that! I listened to it in the car and didn't want to stop driving!

    Great mystery!
This was my second time through this book. I read the series several years ago and loved it. Marta Perry is one of my favorite authors. I have never been disappointed with one of her books.
Eliza Foss does a great job with the performance of the book. She was the reason I decided to "read" the book again.
    Great listen
What made the experience of listening to Home by Dark the most enjoyable?
It was a completely different story line than I'm used to (for an Amish story) and I loved it.
What did you like best about this story?
What I was sure of at the beginning, I wasn't so sure later on. I'm referring to which of the brothers Rhoda would choose.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I loved the fact that she was accepted completely in one community even though she was branded in another (both being Amish) and given a chance.
    Any additional comments?
    I loved the book.

    Publisher's Summary:
Caron Chalmers is an empath. A mind reader cursed with imaging only victims. She sees what they see, feels what they feel, endures what they endure and has since she was seven. But even with all the sensory perception and insights, sometimes she fails to save victims in time. Sometimes she interprets the signs wrong - and a year ago, she did exactly that. She messed up and a victim died. Caron nearly died with her. Her "gift" shut down.
Now it's back. There's another victim - this time a child - and because of the mistake made last year and the shut-down, her police contact, though aware of her many successes, isn't willing to stake his career on her. Yet he can't dismiss her and calls in help from a private investigator, Parker Simms: a man with a past as bleak as Caron's and a specific agenda of his own - proving Caron Chalmers is the fraud he believes her to be.
In a hostile alliance, Caron and Parker seek the truth...and discover a labyrinth of lies and deceptions that require skills and experience they have and trust they don't but must somehow find before the child becomes another victim lost. Yet trust never comes without costs, and some are too steep to pay.
The situation grows desperate. Time for the child's survival grows short...and for Caron and Parker, who must live with the consequences of missteps and wrong moves, the unthinkable happens: Stakes that couldn't get any higher soar.

    Mind Reader
Was an ok read but there were times that I wanted to strangle the main character Caron. A huge portion of the book could have been cut if the characters had a conversation. Now, I'm all for a character getting mad and stomping off all while drawing the wrong conclusions (did he really sleep with her, did she really say that about me, etc) but when it becomes a total cliche just to fill word count - that's when I have a problem. Sure we all get huffy and want to storm off when someone pisses us off but like I said, a huge chunk of the book could be cut if not for the "misunderstandings" and lack of communication.
Overall though I liked the book. It had a good plot and kept me wondering what was going to happen to the main character. The ending drew everything total nice and neat.
She sees and feels their pain, can she save a child before the child dies and her death kills her too??
Begs for a sequel !! Please continue the romance, and the mystery.
Caron is an Empathic Psychic, she feels and sees what the victims do, her last case almost killed her, when she misread the signs and went to the wrong place and the woman she was racing to save was murdered. Now after a year of her gift being dormant it returns with a vengeance. The images she has are of a little girl and time is running out. The cop she has always trusted pairs her with a private investigator that frankly thinks she's a phoney, and the fur and sparks fly. The chemistry between them is the sparks the distrust is the fur, and while they agree that IF a child is in danger they must act, Now Caron must convince everyone else there is a case, and a little kidnapped girl named Misty's like and Caron's hang in the balance. Drama, arguments and sexual attraction turn the heat up just to the right temperature, with betrayal and mistrust just waiting to trip everyone up.

    Twisty and fun read
This is the first audiobook I've listen to by Amanda Stevens. I decided to give it a try through the new Romance package Audible is offering. I will definitely listen to more books by this author.
Alicia Harding did a good job narrating. However, she talks entirely too slow. I probably wouldn't have finished the audiobook if there wasn't the narrator speed function. Once I increased the narration, I was instantly drawn into the story.
    I love this author!
Very unique mystery with an aha moment! This is a story I will listen to again knowing what happens in the end. This author writes scary, nightmarish stories and I have listened to most all that is available on Audible and will likely listen to all. I have not been disappointed. The narration is okay to good but the stories are worth it.
    Great Book!
I love the twists and turns in this book. For me it had lots "O WOW!" moments in it.

    Good book....Depressing Somewhat
Would you try another book from Sharon Sala and/or Jane Sefton?
    Oh yes....
Would you be willing to try another book from Sharon Sala? Why or why not?
Yes....Sharon is an excellent writer. This is a very well written book. Just a bit too sad....
    Not Overly Impressed
Is there anything you would change about this book?
    The narrator.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Someone who really seemed to enjoy the story. Whether it's the writing or the narration, it was short and choppy. I almost couldn't finish the book.
Engaging, interesting - a definite must listen!
What made the experience of listening to Reunion the most enjoyable?
the story lives up to the expectations set by Sharon Sala's other books. the narrator hits just the right note - capturing the nuances and subtleties of the characters and moments, without being over the top. for those who are new to Sharon Sala, this is a great place to start.
What did you like best about this story?
The intricate plot, with changes and surprises at every turn. It really grips your attention.
    Any additional comments?
The story could run the risk of being seen as overly sentimental, but it steers clear of that. the narrator really helps keep this grounded, so you can relate to the different characters and feel them as fully-detailed individuals with a range of moods and emotions.
    Boring Narration
    What disappointed you about Reunion?
Hands down the narration. Am I wrong in thinking it's the director's job to actually "direct" the voice artist so they don't come across as though their bored with the story?
What did you like best about this story?
What's so sad is that this book in paperback form has remained on my keeper shelf for years; and, I leaped at the opportunity to own it in audio form. It's a great, intriguing romance with fully developed characters.
What didnt you like about Jane Seftons performance?
True audio book fans will agree a skilled narrator is as important as the author's story. A narrator can make or break your listening experience. It pains me to say that I did not like this narrator's style in the least.

    Very Disappointed
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I didn't realize this was an abridged version of the novel when I purchased it. Because I read the book and listen when I can't physically read it, it really messed me up. As a result, it became useless as it skipped so much of the book. I rated the book excellent because it is a good book -- just not the audible version.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
    Record it unabridged.
What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Angela Dawe did a great job narrating the book and again if I had the whole book, I would have listened to it more.
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
    None
    hard to listen to
The story was probably good, but the reading was so choppy that it was hard to follow the plot & characters & to care about any of it.
    Need to Read the Auabridged
When I purchased this I didn't realize it was abridged - I listened to it and while the story was progressing it felt like I was missing many of the traditional Julie Garwood touches in her books. I'm going to read the book which comes out in paperback Tuesday and will then write a more indepth review - for now, I'd skip this version and get it unabridged if available.
    not so good.
What would have made Sweet Talk better?
    different narrator.
Would you be willing to try another book from Julie Garwood? Why or why not?
    yes
How did the narrator detract from the book?
she paused too much! it sounded like she was reading the book one sentence at a time. most narrators sound like they are telling a story,
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
    yes. the story was ok.
    Any additional comments?
the narrator was awful, her style is annoying. it sounded like she was trying to drag out the book to make it last the 5 hours. i will ........ never listen..........to a book................she narrates................ again.

    Genres: Romance, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
Laurel Scanlon has the gift of sight, an ability passed down to the eldest daughter of each generation. It is this gift - or curse, perhaps - drove her own mother mad and has left Laurel unwilling to trust in love...except in her dreams.
Anxious for a new beginning, she decides to retreat to Mimosa Grove, an old estate outside Bayou Jean, Louisiana. Mimosa Grove belongs to Laurel now, bequeathed by her maternal grandmother. Laurel feels the history and tragedy here, and amidst primeval beauty she senses something...unfinished. Folks here know about her grandmothers gift and treat Laurel with the same reverence - especially when she is able to help the police find a missing girl. It is then that she sees Justin Bouvier - stranger, soul mate, the man who haunts her dreams.
But there is danger here in Mimosa Grove, not from the restless past, but from the deadly present. Laurel must be willing to trust her gift, her love for Justin and, most of all, herself, to stop tragedy and history from repeating themselves.

    Romance! Mystery! Espionage!
    Any additional comments?
This is a haunting story of clairvoyance, romance, and espionage. After inheriting her grandmothers Louisiana estate, Laurel Scanlon is anxious to leave her distant fathers Washington, DC residence to begin a new life in Cajun country. Laurel not only inherited her grandmothers property, but also her gift of extrasensory visions. Unlike her mocking father, Laurel is welcomed by the residents of Bayou Jean, Louisiana who are grateful that the granddaughter of Marcella Campion will continue the tradition of psychic protection. In this new location, Laurels gifts of sight are heightened as she immediately saves a babys life and finally meets the sensuous man who has passionately inhabited her dreams. This edge of your seat thriller is heightened when Laurel becomes the target of danger while she desperately tries to use her powers to save the life of one closest to her.
I have read several of Sharon Salas (Dinah McCall) books and enjoy them tremendously. She knows how to integrate mystery and romance with believable characters.
Thereses Plummers narration never disappoints as she moves seamlessly from character to character and makes you believe you are right there. Plummer, Dick Hill, and the late Anna Fields are three of the best narrators in the business.
    Excellent audiobook!
    Bought for the Narrator
    Any additional comments?
I am a huge fan of Therese Plummer. So when I saw she had a new audiobook decided to give it a go.
It was good. if anyone is familiar with Ms. Plummer's work would know that she usually has an excellent grasp of the material and characters and this was no exception!
I did find the climax of the book a tad predictable but it didn't ruin my enjoyment of the overall story!
    Loved It..
If you could sum up Mimosa Grove in three words, what would they be?
    Romantic paranormal mystery
What other book might you compare Mimosa Grove to and why?
Nora Roberts' Midnight Bayou. Same concept of haunted southern mansion with romance and suspense. Loved both books
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    yes
    Any additional comments?
We need more Dinah McCall books on audio!
    Nora Roberts copycat
Wow you can tell the author loves Nora Robert's books. The characters are similar, the scenes/location is similar, thriller, a little bit of psyc powers are similar.

Carla Neggers crafts tales of romantic suspense that earn her frequent appearances on both The New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists.
In this sequel to the thrilling Saints Gate, FBI art-crimes expert Emma Sharpe and deep-cover agent Colin Donovan are recuperating in Herons Cove when they learn of a rare set of Russian jewelry thats about to be stolen. Their best chance of stopping the theft is splitting up, but with a powerful enemy lurking in the shadows, can Emma and Colin cheat death and be reunited a second time?
    Members Reviews:
    Another good book
I have read Carla Negger's books for many years and have enjoyed all of them. This one is a sequel to Saint's Gate, but if you haven't read the previous book you won't have any trouble following this one. It covers part of Donovan's absence that started at the end of the Saint's Gate and the resulting aftermath. There are many twists and turns to the mystery and the difficulty of the main players to settle into a relationship. It covers a lot of ground and keeps you interested. There is always some humor in her books to lighten up the sometimes intense suspense of the mystery. I often keep on reading and find it very difficult to put her books down. This one was no exception.
    Brrr
I keep reading Carla Neggers' books and wonder why everytime. She is so repetitive - its like she was a Soap Opera writer - continuously referencing the same events over & over for lapsed readers. I understand that a little of that is necessary for a series, but she does it with the same books. The speech patterns are meant to be closed New Englanders, and she delivers on that, but it
just is a bit much and frankly awkward. Its a shame, because she has great story lines, inviting characters.
    Dragging
Boring, Slow and if they mention that she was a nun or he was a fisherman ONE MORE TIME! It dragged. The story wanted to be good and could have been if it had proper editing. Too repetitious. Too long between meaningful dialog and events. If I were her Lit. teacher I'd say go back and pull it together. The first book was pretty good , This one not so much. Maybe the 3rd one will be better.
    Establishes the series....
An entertaining mystery with two of my favorite settings, Maine and Ireland, this second novel in the series isn't quite as good as the first, but it's right up there. The illegal arms trade (Donovan) and illicit art (Sharpe) come together improbably in Heron's Cove. The two protagonists are still getting to know each other in what a psychologist might call the post-chemistry phase of a relationship, adding romantic interludes to an otherwise tense story, with the romance creating some tensions too. The eeriness of the settings adds to the suspense.
Neggars' main characters are complex and interesting. I wanted to know a wee bit more about the proposed recipients of the illegal arms, though. That and a few other loose threads that weren't tied up took away some of the enjoyment. Sharpe's grandfather is a character with a few more stories to tell, I'm sure. Enough action, but this is a true mystery, not a thriller.
    Beer, Whiskey and Vodka
Neggers has created a whole Irish American European world for this mystery. Deep characters and a blend of family pull together to allow the reader to immerse into a great story. Definitely recommended.

    Good story, BUT...
Where does If You See Her rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Above average on the narration ~ story about middle of the line for me. She's got me hooked on the story ARC that is continuing through all 3 books...and I'm dying to find out who dunnit, but I had a hard time warming up to the heroine in this story.
But the narration was excellent! And I'm so hooked that I can't wait for bk 3 ~ I HAVE to know who the baddies is, lol.
Would you recommend If You See Her to your friends? Why or why not?
Yes, but w/ the disclaimer that there are 3 books, and you MUST read them in order, or you'll be lost.
    Which scene was your favorite?
Hmm...honestly, a scene close to the end where Hope finally stands up for herself. While bad things happen in this scene, it was like a break through for her character for me. I enjoyed the last 1 hour more than the rest of the book.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
You never know WHO your enemies might be...
    Any additional comments?
I want to make clear I DID like the book ~ I just really had a hard time w/ Hope, the heroine. She'd been through so much, and I so wanted to be cheering for her and get that proud feeling you get when you're reading...but I didn't. I just did not warm up to her. I loved Remy, and all the characters from book 1 and the town...and I'm already dying to read Lawe's story. I warmed up more to Nia in the little bit she was in this book than I did w/ Hope the whole story. But the writing was great, the suspense picks up so much towards the end you're going to be angry if you have to wait for next book like me, lol. The overall story ARC that flows from book to book is set up seamlessly, and has me hooked solid. NO way I'm not getting the third book.
And Cris Dukehart's narration was awesome ~ I've added her to my to buy list of narrators.
Perfect Part Two to Romantic Suspense Trilogy
This is really a review for the entire trilogy. It is really hard to separate each story, because the story line continues through each book so well.
I originally won this trilogy in a contest by the author. I read the books and fell in love with this trilogy. I'm am soooooo happy that I got all three books at the same time. Cliffhanger is a word that could be used.

    Publisher's Summary:
Six years ago, Alexis Baptiste's world was turned upside down when Hunter Cassidy disappeared without a trace, leaving her alone and pregnant. She's finally moving on with her life when he resurfaces, just in time to rescue her from a would-be assassin. Forced to join him on the run to protect herself and her young son, Alexis is now in even more danger: danger of falling for Hunter all over again.
Betrayed by rogue CIA agents after infiltrating an infamous drug cartel, former DEA agent Hunter Cassidy has spent years trying to clear his name. He's not proud of the things he's done, and knows he doesn't deserve a future with Alexis, or the son he never knew he had, but he's determined to protect them from the men who ruined his life. Convincing Alexis to trust him - and denying his feelings for her - is going to be the hardest mission he's ever faced.

Waste of Time! - Waste of Credit!
Would you try another book from Katie Reus and/or Viv Williams?
I really don't think I could handle another book like this, if it's an indication of her writing. The story was so implausible, and I could assess that in the first few chapters.
Has His Secret Past turned you off from other books in this genre?
This book was in a genre of its own. I love a good romantic suspense or mystery, but this was neither.
Would you be willing to try another one of Viv Williams???s performances?
    I don't know.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from His Secret Past?
Well, I'd start with the scene where the bad man tries to rape & kill the heroine. When the hero, her long-abandoned-one-&-only-true-Love and the father of her child rescues her by rushing in and killing the bad man, he tells her she's in danger & there are more bad men coming to kidnap her & their son. Instead of fleeing, she stands in her house arguing that she's not going anywhere with him until he explains where he's been for the past 5 years. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this scene takes place immediately after she gets out of the shower, and is wrapped in only a towel. All while the hero is remembering her lush round figure, long legs, etc. etc. This scene goes on for a while and takes place in the early chapters. It only gets worse from there.
    Any additional comments?
I always rate the books I read, but I've never written a review on any of them. I decided to write this one if only to save some other unsuspecting listener the loss of a credit. I wish someone had warned me.
