    Entertaining!
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Hmmm...maybe this story is for someone who loves the whole damsel in distress read.
What other book might you compare Catch Me if You Can to and why?
Most books in this genre is like this story.
    1. Incredibly perfect damsel in distress, desperately needs to be rescued but acts as if she doesn't.
    2. Tortured heroin comes to the rescue. In love with damsel within hours, vice versa.
    3. The performace was just a bit off because of the weird voice change when it was guys who were speaking. Not bad but off somehow.
    4. Very predictable and the women were useless! Not even a decent fight scene. - pouts-
    5. Sugar!! I was so sick of hearing that! LOL
    ******************************************************************************************************
This isn't a bad story. It's actually incredibly entertaining. It's just very generic. Especially as Ms. Hart raised the bar to new awesome limits in this genre with Addison Holmes and J.J. Graves.
Would you be willing to try another one of Brian Nishiis performances?
    Sure!
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Catch Me if You Can?
    Oh man! SPOILER ALERT
    1. Female heroine would need to actually be able to kick butt herself.
    - it was so pathetic she was restrained to her bed and had to be rescued.
    - and why not just slit her throat? (sorry if that sounds cold) but the job would have
been done quickly n silently. She could have survived that too.
    * it would have been so much better had she come from work or shopping late
and attacked in her apt / she puts up a serious fight. One so bad, the attacker
is injured and has to knock her out in desperation, cuff her, then set fire.
    2. So bummed she didn't get to her best friends in time to save them. Why does
everyone except key characters have to die?? Her sadness over there death, mute.
    3. Sugar needed not be used at all unless in coffee or cheerios. Grrrr.... I hate that
    Super Alpha male attitude. LOL
    4. I was hoping Female FBI Agent was actually working undercover somehow but she
was just.... Eh.. like the female heroine.
    5. In this genre, MOSTLY the beautiful women are the ones who are rescued and having
the male heroine ready to die for them.
Regular chics want to be rescued by the handsome guys too. LOL
    Any additional comments?
Like I said before, the story is entertaining but it was very predictable and Ms. Hart has ruined me for life with Addison Holmes (I cry n laugh so hard when it comes to that series) and J.J. Graves (I fell in love with FM romance again because of that serirs).
    Eh, Mediocre
Three stars is a generous rating - 2 1/2 is more accurate.
Catch Me is a formulaic girl-needs-rescuing-from-super-hunk-with-tortured-past story that is not particularly well or poorly written.

great audible version, too much unresolved
I enjoyed narration and some aspects like Jake. did not like how Scott's character developed.
Love this narrator - perfect soft Southern accent
What did you love best about Pecan Pie and Deadly Lies?
I liked the book. Low stress.

This is my favorite narrator. I would read more books from this series if they were audible.

    Title: When I'm With You

    Publisher: Penguin Audio
Ratings: 4 of 5 out of 68 votes
    Genres: Romance, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
New York Times best-selling author Beth Kery's blistering new novel of a man and a woman bound by the scandalous secrets of the past - and by the sexual hunger that still fuels their uncontrollable desires.
Out-of-control party girl and wealthy socialite Elise Martin has come to Chicago to prove to herself and the rest of the world that her life is truly worthwhile. But she never dreamed she'd find herself at the erotic mercy of the dynamic and wealthy Lucien Lenault, her girlhood crush, an irresistible enigma who renders women powerless and vulnerablenot to mention wholly insatiable. But Elise isn't just any woman. She's used to playing with fire, and for her, discovering Lucien's secrets is all part of the game. What brought Lucien to Chicago with a new name and a new identity? Who is Ian Noble, the provocative new stranger in Lucien's shadow? And why has Lucien taken to following him in the night?
As the two of them get deeper into a dangerous sexual dance, Lucien can't help but wonder if the exquisite firestorm that Elise has ignited could not only expose his secrets, but draw him dangerously close to the edge and leave both their futures in ashes.
    Members Reviews:
Because the narration was so difficult...Oui Oui
    Where to begin?
Elise is a former party girl who has been spoiled by her parents until they stop there financial support. Lucien is a former companion who feels that she would benefit from some discipline.
The discipline concept being very similar to 50 shades right down to the riding crop and of course we find out that Elise is actually a virgin. (Oh Lucien....How could you have been so mistaken)
It's not that the similarities are of overwhelming in plot but in style. Still worth a listen except for one thing ...narration. It really is that bad. I understand that the main characters are from France but the accent or affect or dialect is so overdone that you literally will miss words. It's more than merely off putting.
    I Tried
I tried real hard to make it through this book. Sadly it didn't happen. The summary of the book is misleading. I imagined the female lead of this story to be a much diffent type of woman and I expected the story to be way more exciting. It's way too boring for me to even tolerate listening to all of it.
    Don't waste your credit.
    Narrater is horrible!!!
Would you try another book from Beth Kery and/or Anne Delaroche?
I would from Beth but the narration by Anne is horrible. I can not get into the book due to the narration. She is dragging and she is too soft talking. Kinda mono toned. Lost interest in the book it will take me some time to get through this book. Wow!!!
What didnt you like about Anne Delaroches performance?
Her voice isn't working. She has no enthusiasm in her voice and she is mono tone and she makes the characters seem all the same. Very little voice change. I would not recommend a book narrated by Anne
Book 2 of Beth Kerry's series Because You Are Mine
    Any additional comments?
I'm so glad there was a continuation to Because Your Are Mine. In When I'm With You we get the rest of Ian and Francesca's story along with a new story. There are some crazy twists in the story that keep you on the edge of your seat, panting for more. It looks like there will be another book continuing the story due to come out in November.

    Waste of time and money.
This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Somebody who doesn't have a brain, unless you enjoy listening to the same crap repeating itself over and over. Even free which it isn't don't waste your money or credit.
Has I Dream of Danger turned you off from other books in this genre?
    no
What does Seraphine Valentine bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
She has a good voice and makes you feel the experience, but even with that the book isn't worth your time.
What character would you cut from I Dream of Danger?
    none
    Any additional comments?
Please get on with the book stop saying everything over and over.
    Gimme more dangerous dreaming!
I've spent the entire weekend listening to the two available Ghost Ops books, and I'm almost bouncing up and down in eagerness for the next instalment. Book 2 is about Nick and Elle, who knew each other as children. Miscommunication has resulted in their separation for ten years, but when Nick discovers Elle is in trouble he instantly wants to rescue her. Ms Rice has done some mighty fine writing with this book allowing me to live all the angst and anxiety the two main protagonists experience in the first half of the book. The second half is action filled and paves the way to the next instalment that I'll be getting just as soon as it is available!
It wasn't absolutely necessary to read the first book in this series to understand what was going on in this one, but I would fully recommend them being read in sequence. Secondary characters in Haven also get some story time which was a nice inclusion. Seraphine Valentine continues to narrate brilliantly. All in all, 5 out of 5! (Please do bring us more of Ms Rice's offerings - I have them all on my Kindle already, but I'd love to listen to them too!)
    Lovely Romantic Easy Listen

Elle, daughter of a judge and with privileged childhood.
He was helped by her father and had a better life to leave of that moment. And the connection between Nick and Elle was intense right from the start.
Then it occurs a separation, he gets vanished by five years, only coming back at a big fragility and sadness moment in Elle's Life.

    Publisher: Excessica
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 38 votes
    Genres: Romance, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
The innocence of the 1950s makes the perfect backdrop for this new historical romance saga...
"By Grace you have been saved..." (Ephesians 2:8)
Childhood friends Leah and Erica have been sacrificial lambs at the altar of a scandalous corruption within the Catholic Church, violated by those who have, in their lust for power, turned the sacred profane.
The mystery of Leah's disappearance results in a long-awaited reunion, but it is tainted by both their loss of innocence and a deep, unfathomable sorrow, which only leads to more secrets that have yet to be uncovered.
The revelations Erica and Father Michael have already exposed in their search to find the truth have only scratched the surface of the mystery they are about to unravel.
But will their discovery serve to save them and redeem the innocence they have lost, or will the sins of the fathers prove to be too powerful and destroy them all?
    EXCERPT:
    "You look lovely, Erica."
She glanced up at Father Michael's soft words, spoken just to her, for her ears only. Her father and Father Patrick were discussing Eisenhower quite loudly and Leah--she was still off in her own little world.
    "Thank you."
    "I miss our Mayflower mornings."
They had met for coffee every morning at the Mayflower cafe for months, but then, after Leah had come home, after things had progressed between Erica and Father Michael to the point where neither of them could deny how they felt anymore, he had just stopped coming. No warning, no nothing.
She couldn't forget the tender press of his lips against hers, the way her heart leapt at his touch. The heart just didn't lie, and her heart had beat for him since. The Mayflower had been their little refuge, and when he'd finally stopped coming, she had lost something much worse than her broken heart could bear. She'd lost the only man she had ever truly loved.
"Me too," Erica admitted. "I wish..."
But of course he knew what she wished. She knew he wished it too. "I have something for you." He cleared his throat, taking a sip of his drink. "A small Christmas gift. I meant to give it to you last night, after midnight mass..." Erica remembered the way he'd looked at her, how he'd frowned when he saw Clay bending down to whisper something into her ear to make her laugh, how her already broken heart seemed to shatter again to bits. Just when she thought it couldn't break anymore, it happened again, as if her heart could continue to split into the tiniest pieces, the smallest atoms. He'd motioned for her, but she'd ignored him, turning to Clay instead, pretending not to see, not to notice. She was punishing him, punishing them both, but what else could she do? She wanted him, he wanted her, but they couldn't be together. What more did he want from her?
"I thought maybe we might have coffee at the Mayflower on Monday. Just this once?"
Erica hesitated, biting her lip. She knew she shouldn't.
He leaned in, whispering, "Besides, I have some information for you, Nancy Drew."
She couldn't help the smile that spread over her face.

    Title: The Engagement
    Author: Chloe Hooper
    Narrator: Jane Nolan
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 6 hrs and 48 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 04-10-13
    Publisher: Bolinda Publishing Pty Ltd
Ratings: 2 of 5 out of 4 votes
    Genres: Romance, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
From Chloe Hooper, author of the phenomenal The Tall Man, comes a brilliant novel about sex and money. The Engagement is a taut psychological thriller in which the deft blurring of reality and dark fantasy rivals that of Luis Bunuel's classic Belle de Jour.
Liese Campbell has an engagement for the weekend: to stay with Alexander Colquhoun, the well-mannered heir of a pastoral dynasty, at his property in western Victoria. Liese, an English architect in flight from the financial crisis, now works at her uncle's real-estate business in Melbourne. Alexander has been looking for a place in the city. The luxury apartments Liese shows him have become sets for a relationship that satisfies their fantasies - and helps pay her debts. It's a game. Both players understand the rules. Or so she thinks.
Across the ancient landscape they drive at dusk to his grand decaying mansion. Here Liese senses a change in Alexander, and realises a different game has begun. This gripping, provocative new novel by one of Australia's finest writers is a psychological thriller for the modern age, one which explores the snares of money and love, and the dark side of erotic imagination. A trap has been set, but how and why? And for whom?
    Critic Reviews:
"Many pages of The Engagement are burnished with the smartness, eloquence and dry wit of Hoopers prose, her sense of atmosphere and her insights into sex and the fragile self." (The Monthly)

    Pretty good
Piper just seems to attract trouble. Jed is the good trouble but she also attracts bad trouble. I dont want to give away any spoilers so Ill just go on to say Jed rushes in to save her. I enjoyed the interactions between Piper and Jed. I can feel the connection between the characters that makes a good listen. A word of caution this book does contain some sexual content but not overmuch.
I do think I should have got Nauti Temptress before this one because it is a continuation of that book. This is an interesting listen but with so many characters that continue from the previous book it would have made it more so. So if you want a short entertaining listen you may want to try this one, especially if you already tried Nauti Temptress and want to continue the story.
love the story but narrator isnt good with voices
like I said I love the series. The narrator isnt good with different voices for the characters, especcially male. Sometimes its confusing not knowing who is speaking for a few seconds until you know by context. You need a good narrator who can differentiate the different characters in the book or its not so easy to understand.

    Fun Story
Would you consider the audio edition of Scandalous to be better than the print version?
    Didn't read print
What was one of the most memorable moments of Scandalous?
    None really
How could the performance have been better?
Narrator wasn't clear. Sometimes hard to understand
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Once the story got going.. It was a slow start
    Any additional comments?
The book starts out a little slow, and I struggled with the narrator. It ended up being very good, however I kept waiting for the big twist that usually happens.. It never did. Happy ending, but no major twist or climax. Predictable
    I liked it
I liked this one much better than do not disturb. looking forward to reading the next book.
Good but ending could be better.
Very thorough,. I liked that it didn't end abruptly as some stories do. The narrator was very good. Marriage and sex treated too casually.

Wowza! Strong female + Hot alpha male
What did you love best about Tactical Strike?
Candace is a strong female lead (a must for me). She's a pilot and a captain in the middle of a war zone...not a delicate flower. Ryan's determination to push through Candace's walls. His calm under pressure and never ending ability to overcome any objections. I heart Ryan!
Have you listened to any of Phil Kanes other performances before? How does this one compare?
First time listening to Phil Kane's voice - Oh baby...deep, masculine and gravelly right when it needs to be. Well paced. With such a manly voice, the female characters don't sound too feminine but I think he found the right pitch for his voice without sounding whiny as some male narrators do.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Ah yeah I wanted to, but it ended up taking a few sittings. This isn't a book to listen to in short sittings - you're going to want to block out some time in the calendar. Then leave extra time at the end to catch you're breath and day dream about Ryan.
    Any additional comments?
Read Deadly Descent first (I didn't and wish I had), this is part of a series and this is book 2. But I haven't seen Deadly Descent on audio, I'm reading that on eBook now and it's just as good as this one. Also, there's a fair amount of military jargon - I found that hard to follow at first, lots of acronyms and all. Although now I feel like I could walk into a military base and be all, 'I got this' and fly a gunship outta there.
    Not what I was expecting
I felt like the heroine was wimpy, unable to stand firm in her own point of view. I got the impression that the hero was going to do what he wanted regardless of what she wanted, even if the situation turned coercive. This book may be a good fit for erotica fans, but it wasn't what I wanted.
The narrator speaks too slowly, I had to increase the speed to 1.25 just to avoid going crazy.
    Balanced with action and romance
An overall positive story that takes place on a military base in Afghanistan where two Air Force troops meet. The romance thread is predictable, but the setting and action scenes keep the story interesting, making this book slightly above average. There are only two bedroom scenes, but both are hot.
The reader does a satisfactory job, but at times uses the wrong voice for a character and occasionally sounds stiff.
