    Narrator: Caitlin Davies
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 6 hrs and 48 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 09-23-14

    Genres: Teens, Ages 11-13
    Publisher's Summary:
Like Fredericks's The Girl in the Park, here is a pause-resisting listen that perfectly captures the world of New York City private schools, as it explores the notion of power among teenage girls. Publisher's Weekly, in a starred review, raves, "Fredericks again proves her gift for conveying the intensity of adolescence, while exploring the ways girls' sexuality is used against them and asking why 'we all have to be predators and prey.'"
Queen Bee Chloe is going to make Toni suffer for whatever transpired between Toni and Chloe's boyfriend, Oliver, over the summer. From day one of eleventh grade, she has Toni branded as a super slut, and it isn't long before things get so ugly that Toni fears for her safety. What's a scared, powerless, and fed-up teenager to do? Guided by Cassandra - a girl with some serious problems of her own - Toni decides to stop playing the victim and take control. Cassandra has been experimenting with witchcraft, and together they cast a spell on Chloe that may actually cause her death. Could Toni have really made such an awful thing happen?

    Addition to my book collection
Love all the edgy books of witches
    Scary, funny, completely engrossing
This is an extraordinarily moving novel that takes fairly usual situations in teenage life -- love triangles, jealousy, revenge fantasies -- and takes them to powerfully dramatic levels. It's kind of like real life mythologized in the middle of New York City, and then made real again, with redemption a possibility at the end. Scary and funny and consistently great to read. I read it and my 14 year old daughter is now reading it and loving it.
What happens when the bullies push too far?
What happens during summer should stay in summer.
Toni had a bit of a wild summer and now that school is starting she's going to have to face her actions head on. She didn't realize what she was getting herself into at the time. She's not the only one to blame, but she's the only one getting the blame. Oliver has gotten back together with his girlfriend Chloe, but Chloe is out for blood. Who knew a kiss could be so dangerous? Toni doesn't know what to do to get Chloe and her friends to stop harassing her, but Cassandra does. Cassandra says there's a better way to get even, a bit of hocus pocus. Toni's not sure she really believes in this stuff, but when it works she starts to change gears. Cassandra doesn't know how far is too far though and things get out of hand fast. Toni is going to have to help Cassandra with her own dark secrets before more people get hurt.
I was pretty excited to read this book. The description had this nice Carrie vibe about it and I saw Toni standing in the middle of a burning down school with a small grin. This book wasn't Carrie, but it wasn't bad either.
One of the things I had an issue with was Toni. She complains about how terrible Chloe is and the bullying and everything, but Toni isn't a nice person. Take this abbreviated excerpt:
"....'I would like us all to rise and join hands, please. We will now recite the school civility pledge.'....I take Ella's hand and offer my other to Bill 'Pigman' Pullman on my right. He grins maniacally, like I've offered him some other body part to touch. I say, 'Drooling's not pretty, Bill.'....'I pledge to be civil and caring to my fellow students.

    Any additional comments?
The third installment in the Adventures of Dogboy. The big action piece this time around is my favorite of the series and I just flat out enjoyed listening to this audiobook. It's as if the author knew I had a soft spot for abandoned, possibly haunted amusement parks. Very entertaining audio.
    Superhero Dogboy returns for
Bronson and his superpower are back amid the usual suspects and supportive friends. The bad guys from book one are back to create trouble. There are surprises brewing among the good guys. The backstory is part of the current events, so the reader is not left behind, but swept along. The adventures of Dogboy are good reading for all ages to enjoy and collect.
Once again, Nahtan B becomes each of the characters and enhances the writer's craft.
This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review
    Fantastic!
I really enjoy the Dogboy Adventures and they keep getting better and better. Demon's Dare was the best yet. This series is the total package. It has everything fun. I love Mr. Horum and with him being the owner of the Magic Shop or The Curiosity Shop, I wonder what he'll do next. He's like a father to Dogboy. And Cindy. What is she hiding? I'm already ready for the next in the adventures.
I loved the setting of Demon's Dare being at the amusement park Curley World. That was loads of fun. Zeph is another interesting character and I loved when Osbert called him a Swamp Wizard. For us Dogboy fans, this had a cliffhanger with Willowood and Cindy and the Blue River.
Bill Meeks is a wonderful writer. Dogboy is so original and all the other characters are well thought out as well. Nathan Beatty does an outstanding job voicing these characters. They ALL have a very strong presence with awesome accents and unique mannerisms. All I can say is MORE...
I received this audiobook foc in exchange for an unbiased review.
    Awesome adventures of Dogboy
Would you listen to Demon's Dare again? Why?
Nathan doe the book justice. I would listen again just to hear him do all the different voices.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mr. Horum. I love his matter of a fact approach to his life and how he took Dogboy in.
What does Nathan Beatty bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
    His voices, just amazing.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
The dream episode and the start of the Curleyworld Follies story I got a bit confused and it took a little to understand where I was and where we were going.
    Any additional comments?
As for Cindy...it is time. She needs to fess up to Dogboy that she too has a power.

Fifty Minutes of Unadulterated Fun in Zapple-world
What made the experience of listening to Elias Zapple's Rhymes from the Cabbage Patch (Zany, Funny, Illustrated Poems For Ages 9+ Book 1) the most enjoyable?
The combination of Zapple's zany mind and Richard Mann's playful delivery is perfect for this humorous and inventive odyssey.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love Zapple's slugs. Shall I tell you about the slug that shocks? Nah, better make you listen for yourself. Cinders and Goldilocks came a close second, but I am a Zapple slug fan. As Zapple shows you slugs as you've never thought to consider them, she transports you to a world where the commonplace becomes extraordinary.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I can't call out a single scene, since the book is so well conceived and executed. But I should warn you about the creepy-crawlies and their bloody trails. (That's a hint.)
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book removed me from the commonplace, lightened my load, and made me happy when I really needed some relief. Highly recommended for its ability to totally transmute reality and you with it.
    Any additional comments?
Loved it. Long live Zapple, slugs and all.
    Wacky, wild and zany!
Would you consider the audio edition of Elias Zapple's Rhymes from the Cabbage Patch (Zany, Funny, Illustrated Poems For Ages 9+ Book 1) to be better than the print version?
Although this audio edition by itself is enthralling and entertaining it also compliments the print edition perfectly!
What other book might you compare Elias Zapple's Rhymes from the Cabbage Patch (Zany, Funny, Illustrated Poems For Ages 9+ Book 1) to and why?
This book is comparable to work by Roald Dahl but it is very original and laced with Elias Zapple's twisted sense of humor!
    Which scene was your favorite?
I love Elias Zapple's take on classic nursery rhymes. They are very off the wall and funny!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Zany, zany and even more zany!
    Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed listening to this and will many times!

A short story aimed at boys. Gary Paulsen World of adventure stories are a fun read. If your kids don't like to read this might be the series for them.
    The Treasure of El Patron
I always enjoy a Gary Paulsen book when I sit down with it. I can count on this author for an exciting tale told in a lively fashion, and characters I can really believe in. Tag and Cowboy (the heroes of this story) believe in treasures and in themselves.
I liked the way that Tag's dad found the treasure and left clues for Tag to find it as well. If you like fun, fast-paced adventure, this is a book you'll like a lot.

A race to rule the world
I hate to say it, but it's just a fact that, sometimes, by the time readers reach the end of a series, they don't find it as exciting as the first. That is so NOT the case with The Necropolis: The Forgotten Worlds, Book 3, the final book in the middle grade science fiction series by PJ Hoover. I really enjoyed The Emerald Tablet (The Forgotten Worlds) and The Navel of the World (The Forgotten Worlds, Book 2), but I found this installment just as exciting and couldn't put it down.
Benjamin Holt has learned to deal with the fact that he isn't human, but a telegen able to communicate via telepathy and not to mention that little fact that he's been chosen to save the world. His group of friends continue their mission as they teleport and time travel from place to place to help Benjamin find his last sibling and fast. But it's not going to be easy as he faces Nathan Nyx, his half-brother who is out to murder him and some other members of his family that have quite a history. Things really heat up in the hidden continents of Lemuria and Atlantis as Benjamin attempts to save the future, something he's seen and that's not very pretty.
This installment wrapped everything up nicely, and I have to admit, I'm sorry that there won't be more. Hoover has created a world full of drama, hidden lands, time travel and mythology. Anyone who has the chance to read the series straight through, should just do that as you'll find yourself enthralled in not only the characters, but the nicely woven plot that takes you on a race to rule the world.

    So enjoyable!!!
This book was such an enjoyable read for so many reasons - my only wish was that it was longer or part of a series! Judith shines in this narative - part Sci-Fi, part historical novel and she is adept at writing from varying ethnicities - she has written many books but so far the most enjoyable reads for me are in this vein - thank you so much Judith, it's been a long time since I read something so engaging and well thought out!
A whole different take on solving a mystery
This story uses three linked characters to solve a medical mystery. Switching back and forth between the character's narratives works well most of the time. The settings are described with Tarr's usual care and depth. Telling the story from the point of view of teens rather than older characters is different for her writing, and may not work as well for me as did her many other stories.
    Well written
I didn't feel like the climax was particularly climactic but the storytelling is solid and the future Earth stuff well imagined without being overly distracting with technical concepts.
    Overall a good book.
Edit: after further reflection, this book deserves 4 stars, not 3.
    Good multi-genre YA
Entertaining sci-fi historical mystery contemporary coming of age story. The protagonist is Meredith, a girl in her mid teens. She has alter egos 4,000 years in the past and 4,000 years in the future. Together, this "triple" tackles a medical crisis that spans those 8,000 years. The alter egos are distinct characters, products of their environments, which range from ancient Egypt to a future that's interesting, if necessarily sketchy.

Good plot idea, I LOVED the other three books, but......
I must say that the first three books I rated as five stars and I would rate them higher if I possibly could!!! I LOVED this series when I thought it was just a trilogy. Then I found the fourth book and I was literally screaming in delight and anticipation of what would happen to Annie and Strat. But, as I got towards the ending of the book I was wondering, when are they going to have real adventures TOGETHER??? I don't know what all these people are thinking when they give "For All Time" five stars. To me, nothing seemed to happen and for once in the entire series, their families don't seem to play such an important role.
I loved the idea though, don't get me wrong! I love the concept of traveling back to ancient Egypt, I love that Strat found that very important sandal (later you find out how important) and I love the aspect of the Stratton descendant in modern day. But, it is just an outline!!! There is hardly any dialogue and Annie and Strat are just together for a very tiny, short time before they're ripped apart again. I wanted to see more action, more adventures with them together. The jumping from Renifer to Strat to Annie to Camilla to Dr. Lightner to Pankh to Mr. Stratton to Lockwood to Katie and back and forth proves to break the plot up way too much. It seems that the story line focuses on the new characters' Renifer and Camille's fate more than it does on our old favorites Annie and Strat. And really, we don't even hear anything more about Devonny (except that she has a couple kids) or Tod or what is going to happen to poor Florinda, we don't even know for sure what happens to Douglass either. There are only three short chapters sort of dedicated to Annie and Strat together. I wanted them to make choices again, to travel together, to try and help their families and the ones they loved. There weren't any complications or mysteries this time involving Annie and Strat, no heartwrenching decisions or unfortunate separations. Annie doesn't even get to travel back and forth between her time and Strat's!!! Plus, Strat's and Annie's families were so important in the other books, this time it's just Strat's father. And his father just gives up so easily! He's such a pushover in this book that it's hardly worth the resolution.
The other books all revolved around the Stratton mansion, their families and there was a LOT more dialogue and complications and people with evil motives. I understand that they mansion was out of the question this time.

There was a mysterious plane crash and a pilot dies, but does not leave...well as things unfold, we find out there are several ghosts floating around so to speak...and the mystery unfolds!! super great!!!! moving on to #2 soon!

This was a really good short ghost story.A small plane crashes into a yard.A ghosts is showing up to terrify a boy named Jase.He sees a local girl go into a haunted house and they get together to solve the mystery of what the ghost wants. We find at the end that THIS is only one ghost story from their adventures.Janet Borrus does a fine job narrating. This audiobook was provided to me at no cost for a fair and honest review

    Any additional comments?
Not only was this story entertaining, but it had the paranormal edge to it, which I just love. Meant to be for the young, nevertheless, it kept me entranced. The night after I finished this read, I dreamt of the dead! Narrator Janet Borrus had me believing I was there, in rural Texas facing a ghost! She had a hand in making this read/listen even more entertaining.
Stevie-girl was a spirited, kind 12-year-old girl growing up during the 60s, having had her best friend recently move away. Thats a hard time for most people, but even more so for her for she had no siblings, no mother or father. Her grandmother had recently passed. All she had was her grandfather, though they had a wonderful relationship.
A fellow school mate, Chase, also without much of a family, likes what he sees in Stevie-girl, and so seeks her out when she appears fearless when she entered a old reck of a place considered haunted. He needed a fearless friend.
Lots of wisdom comes from both the young and the elderly in this quick read/listen.
