thank you very much is a very good book and you excellent seller
thank you very much is a very good book and you excellent seller
    100% Recomendada
No es simplemente otra historia juvenil... la superación, la lucha, el perdón, amor y desamor presente en cada uno de los capítulos. Adictiva de inicio a fin!

    Publisher's Summary:
Lulu and Jek are science nerds, and have been best friends since they were young...or at least they used to be. Lately Jek has been pulling away from Lulu, just as she's coming to terms with how she really feels about him. Just as she was ready to see if there could be something more between them.
But Lulu's thoughts are derailed by a mysterious new guy who's showing up at local parties. Hyde is the definition of a bad boy, and everybody knows it...but no one can seem to resist his charms. And even though Lulu's heart belongs to Jek, she can't deny Hyde's attraction either.
She also knows that there's something not quite right about Hyde. That the rumors of his backwoods parties make them sound a little more dangerous than what any of her friends are accustomed to. And she doesn't like the fact that Hyde seems to be cozying up to Jek, and that they seem to be intertwined in ways that have Lulu worrying for Jek's safety.
If Hyde has a dark secret, Lulu is determined to find out what it is, and to help Jek...before it's too late for both of them.

More a Rehashing, Less a Retelling
Jek/Hyde is more a rehashing and less a retelling.
The bookâRossâ debut in young adult literatureâcenters on Lupita âLuluâ Gutierrez and Jayesh Emerson âJekâ Kapoor, two science nerds who have been best friends for as long as long as they can remember. But just as Lulu is coming to terms with her more-than-platonic feelings for her best friend, Jek starts distancing himself and spending all his time holed up in his room/lab with his experiments. It doesnât help that thereâs a mysteriousâand unmistakably alluringânew guy in town, who is the very definition of a bad boy, and who may or may not have connections with Jek. Confession time: I have not read the Stevenson classic. Nor have I seen any of the bajillion movie adaptations. But I feel like The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has been so embedded into our collective cultural consciousness that itâs almost as if I have read the book without actually having read it. And Jek/Hyde totally validates my judgment; whatever hope I had of mystery, I went to the wrong party.
To be fair, the novel kept me relatively entertained âtil the very last page. It took a couple of chapters for the story to find its footing, but find it it did and it maintained a good pacing all through out the book. I also like how the tone and setting effectively conjure a sense of helplessness and perpetual confinement. The book is set in a small town in the Midwestern, and that was executed well. But then we get to the actual narrative and it gets less than stellar. There is little character development, cases of present-but-not-present adults, and underdeveloped subplots, all culminating in a heavily expository conclusion and one that is out of touch with the rest of the main characterâs journey.
Thereâs also a huge disconnect between what the reader is being told versus what he is being shown. Lulu has a tendency to pine for Jek, which is fine, thatâs her thing. But not once was I convinced of the friendshipâor any sort of connectionâbetween her and Jek she often talks about.

I love them and the world that they are in
So I need to get off my Spaceships Around Saturn cloud. I love them and the world that they are in. I could keep reading about them forever!!
Darby is a 16 year old girl who runs a channel that showcases her favorite band. She hopes one day that she will get to meet them because of it, but no matter what she is a Saturnite for life! Her whole life changes the day Chloe Branson shows up on her front porch...the question is, can she handle the changes?
Darby was a character that was okay, but I didn't really like her most of the time. She was immature for most of it complaining and being jealous of everyone instead of just enjoying what is finally happening to her. Heck, she gets to meet Tate, the guy she can't stop thinking about. You would think she would be happy, but her actions showed otherwise most of the time.
With that though, I didn't hate her, she grew on me towards the end, and I know most of it is because she is young. I still loved following her as well as the glimpses of the Branson sisters and the rest of the band. I truly read this book to get any more info on them as I could! I don't care if I have to follow through Darby's head or anyone elses, I got more of SAS!
Tate is such a sweetheart, I always thought he was okay in American Girl on Saturn, but you get to know him a lot better in this book. He was so sweet and went out of his way for Darby. It was so dang cute!!
I also have to say seeing Chloe and Aralie around the band a lot makes me happy. I worried after the first book if they wouldn't get to see them much, but they seem to follow the band around where ever they go. Jules and Aralie seem so happy and it was nice to see that from them since they were pretty secretive in the first book! I am also a Chloe and Milo fan! Very much so, to see them together makes me super happy. I hope the tension between something big happening to Chloe ends up all working out in the end, I would be super sad to see them split!
The story mainly follows Darby, where ever that means she is. Most of it is at home, but it is also at venues following Tate around. There is so much crazy that happens in the book you feel bad for her at times, she does have bad luck but it all pays out in the end :)
I love seeing that if you love something long and hard enough, it will eventually come to you, even when you don't believe it will. I got the feeling to never give up on yourself or your dreams, no matter what they are. I love the fuzzy feelings I get with all Nikki's books.

    unique and interesting!
This was a unique and interesting romance with paranormal elements (time travel.) I listened to this with my 14 year old and we enjoyed it. Narration was good and story kept us listening from start to finish. Looking forward to book 2.

    Good Story
I got this ARC via audiobook boom. I am not a fan of time travel books but this one is a good one. It is filled with shapeshifters, magic gates, greed, and corruption. The narrator was good and she brought out the emotions that each character exhibited. The story was well developed and kept me listening to the entire time. I completed it in two sittings and was well pleased with the entire story. There was not a real cliffhanger but you know that there should be more books.
well okay how should I start?
overall I did love this book it was very nice written.... I could feel the timeline very well..
the fantasy and reality collided quite well in this book...
it might sound funny but I liked the progressivity of the Kings..
they were quite modern for this period ...
the fantasy and sci-fi was very very good I didn't feel like it was forced on you...
I loved the romance in the book...
I think everything was in time I can't wait to put my hands on the 2nd audiobook..
p.s. the narrator was quite good she wasn't boring and she didn't enforce too much feelings on the book she read it quite monotonically but not in a boring way....
I certainly thumbs up for this book
Good mix of Fantasy, History & Romance
Although paranormal genre isn't my "norm" this book kept my attention. I was pleased to find the characters were believable and the plot was a great mix of fantasy, history and romance. It is written well and is a good beginning to this series.
Narration can definitely make or break an audio book. I have to admit that I had to start and restart this book a few times because of the narration. She read without much inflection and seemed a bit monotone. Once I got used to the rhythm of her voice I got past my judgment and just got into the story and enjoyed it. I recommend that everyone listen to the audio sample a of any book before purchasing.
I was given this free audiobook review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
    Enjoyable story
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It had a very steampunk feel and the story itself was quite entertaining.

Caitlin's life changes from the moment she sees Lucas walking across the causeway one hot summer's day. He is the strangest, most beautiful boy she has ever seen - and when she meets him, her world comes alive. But to others, he quickly becomes an object of jealousy, prejudice and hatred. Caitlin tries to make sense of the injustice that lurks at every unexpected twist and turn, until she realises that she must do what she knows in her heart is right.
    Members Reviews:
A book that has stayed close to my heart
In Lucas, fifteen-year-old Caitlin McCann is experiencing one of the most difficult periods of her life. Her best friend, the bold and pig-headed Bill, seems to be losing her mind when she takes up with the roughest crowd on Hale Island. Her brother Dominic, home from college for the summer, seems to be a completely different boy from who she used to know--a phony intellectual on one hand and a clueless party boy on the other. Her father, a reclusive and somber writer, seems to be quietly stewing in his own misery. And her good friend Simon, a goofy and slightly dorky loner, is taking far more than a friendly interest in her. With all of this on her plate, Caitlin meets the mysterious Lucas, a nomadic boy whom the inhabitants of Hale Island know absolutely nothing about. Caitlin admires Lucas's freedom and survivalist mentality, and the two form a friendly bond based solely on their curiousity of one another. However, the people on the small island are not as warm to the boy. They see him as an outsider, a threat, and unwanted edition to their perfectly established community. When a major misunderstanding surrounding a little girl occurs, the people of Hale Island are out for Lucas's blood, and Caitlin tries her hardest to save him from their violence. The most striking theme in this novel is that of prejudice. It alarmed me that a young boy could be treated so cruelly by the members of a community just because he is an "outsider." If you are looking for a cute summer romp between a teenage boy and girl (as the summary on this site subtley implies) this is not the book for you. This is not The Last Song, so don't expect Miley Cyrus in a skimpy dress and her hot volleyball player boyfriend to show up and relieve from the heartache. Lucas deals with hate in its purest form, but provides a ray of hope in the innocent romance of Caitlin and the misunderstood nomad. You will sympathize with Caitlin. You will laugh at certain parts. You might even roll your eyes at the ridiculous behavior of some of the characters. But if you have a heart beating in your chest at all, you will shed many tears for the beautiful boy whom Caitlin comes to love.
    Five Stars
Beautiful book !!! Read it !
    Lucas: A warning to society
I've read this book years ago and it still keeps me captivated. This is just a well written book, it really awakens your emotions and makes you wonder what kids go through now a days. I highly recommend this book, especially high school kids. I think they will connect on a deep level with this book.
    Bad Story
This book was very unfulfilling and was too short to be much good. Parts of it were good, but the overall story was very poor. I highly recommend the book "Black RabbitmSummer" by this same author.

Maine-bred, independent Rilla Brae is no stranger to the deep. She knows the rhythms of hard work and harder seas. But when she experiences the sudden death of her father, the veil between the living and the dead blurs, and she begins to be haunted by a girl on a nearby uninhabited island. The girl floats a song over the waves, and it is as beautiful as it is terrifying. Familiar and distant.
Then Rilla meets Sam, a University of Southern Maine archeology student tasked with excavating the very island where the ghostly girl has appeared. Sam sifts the earth looking for the cultural remains of an island people who were forcibly evicted by the state nearly a hundred years ago. Sam tells Rilla the island has a history no locals talk about - if they know about it at all - due to the shame the events brought to the working waterfront community. All Rilla knows for sure is that the island has always been there - an eerie presence anchored in the stormy sea. Now Sam's work and the ghostly girl's song lure Rilla to the island's shores.
As Rilla helps Sam to unearth the island's many secrets, Rilla's visions grow - until the two discover a tragedy kept silent for years. And it's a tragedy that has everything to do with Rilla's past.

    So good!
OMG, this book! I have to admit that I'm only half-way through it, but I couldn't wait to recommend The Rattled Bones. Since I opened it two days ago, "just to read the first couple of pages," I haven't been able to put it down. The history is intriguing, the characters and the Maine coast are enchanting, and the ghostly bits add just the right about of mystery and suspense. You can feel the melancholy of Rilla's loss of her parents in sync with the tide of the water people and the lost souls of Malaga. This is balanced so well with Gram's healthy garden and Rilla's bright opportunities for her future. We need more sassy, strong, determined feminine figures like Rilla in YA fiction! A special salute to the fisherWOmen that are breaking stereotypes and making way for the next generation.
    Beautiful!
The Rattled Bones is a story that is going to stay with me for quite some time. Filled with mystery, historical fiction, suspense and a captivating ghost story. At times both heartbreaking and uplifting. I fell so in love with this story. S.M. Parker is a true story teller and I GREATLY look forward to reading more from this author!
    Gorgeous Prose, Beautiful Story
This book transported me to the coast of Maine, to a hauntingly beautiful place where traditions are as pervasive as salt in the air. As the novel unfolds, Rilla Brae, the strong, yet vulnerable main character, learns to trust. She trusts her gut. She trusts the new guy she meets. She trusts the people she loves, even if they're no longer with her. And most of all, she trusts the deeply heartbreaking story chasing her across the sea on the wings of a bee. I loved this book. The characters were layered and authentic. The setting was breathtaking. The eerie, tragic paranormal parts mixed with real history made me believe in ghosts. I loved every page, every gorgeous image. (Suggestion: Read this under a blanket with a warm drink and (if possible) a snuggly pet). Bravo, S.M. Parker!
If you love a good mystery and historical fiction!
I listened to The Rattled Bones on audiobook and the story was beautiful and creepy.

I loved this book - very relevant!
Wow! I loved this book!! As always Patty writes with such amazing detail. I felt like I was right there with Kristen and Elijah, felt what they were going through. Congrats to Patty for writing yet another very now and relevant book. You should definitely read this book!
Review is also on Smada's Book Smack blog
Elijah wants his band to succeed, and is willing to do anything to get them the recognition that he feels they deserve, even if it means playing tamed down music at the county fair for exposure. Kristen has her summer figured out, but when she is rejected from the Arts program she auditioned for she is crushed, but goes to perform in her school's performance because the show must go on. When Elijah sees Kristen perform, he knows that she is just what his band needs to step up their game. The hard part will be to convince his band-mates and Kristen the same... And to keep his feelings out of the mix.
I have been so lucky in the books that I have tackled recently because they have all been really enjoyable reads, making me so sad to put one down for fear the next can't live up to the high expectations I currently have. Well, this book was love for me. I had anticipated to like the story, pretty much due to the music aspect and the push-pull relationship hinted at in the synopsis, but I was caught off guard by the love I felt while reading this story. I was swept up by everything that was this book: the banter, the emotional turmoil the characters deal with, the family bonds, the angst, the pull of romantic love, the disappointment of failure, the humor of the battle of the sexes, the high of performing, the hurt others can cause, and the twitter battle and reality of harmful social media. I felt so many emotions while reading, and was on the verge of tears a few times without even being aware they were coming until my chest was tight with emotion. You want feels? Then you have come to the right place. The best part of the story was how Patty mixed the flair and flamboyant Broadway style with the dark gritty world of Heavy Metal. As a side note, I don't think the cover did the book justice, don't get me wrong it's an ok cover, but I feel like the story was so much more than what the cover seems.
âThis story was about family, relationships in general and the big factor that ties them all together- Music.
âThe things that stood out to me the most was Elijah's relationship with his special needs sister Anna and Kristen's grandmother Etta. Elijah loves his sister, regardless of how difficult she can be and he is willing to bend over backward to make her happy, which is uncommon for a teen, who are usually so focused on themselves at that age.
