Worth the wait, sorry it ended.

I have been waiting for this. I love the series and was excited to learn that there would indeed be a prequel which would fill my need to know what started the war that lasted over 300 years. This book was worth the wait.

Knowing how things turned out I did not think that I would feel differently about the characters that I knew were the cause for the war. Wendy Knight made me fall in love with them just the way she did with Ari, Shane, Hunter, Will and Chairty.

This story is amazing written, the battle scenes were amazing as well. I do not want to give anything away but be prepared to lose your heart and to stay awake all nigh reading this because you will fall in love with these characters and will not want to put the book down

Wow!

I seriously LOVE everything Wendy puts out, and this one is no exception! A great look at the beginning of a huge war that affected the main characters in her original break out series Feudlings. This book lives up to the legacy she started building with her first book and as a bonus gives a short story at the end to give all of them closer. Way to go Wendy! Keep pumping out the hits!

great story

I just found this series and was sad that it was over, but then I was told there was a prequel.

It was interesting to find out how the war between the Edrens and Carules really began. Watching the things Ada, Christian and Charity had to go through, the way they were tortured made me cry.

The short story at the end of the book was great! I loved it.

I will read this again.

I waited

I have to admit, I waited on this one. I'd read and enjoyed the other books in this series, but I bought this one and waited a long while before I read it. I shouldn't have, it was very good. It stands alone, and I wanted to then go back and read the other books again. As a prequel, I would recommend reading it first, before the other Fate of Fire books.

Death, love, regret and forgiveness: Jen Hendersons *In the Middle* tackles some of the weightiest topics in life, through the eyes of teenagers. Intersecting planes of reality and the reiteration of lives bring the advanced narrative techniques of contemporary literature into the domain of Young Adult fiction. Love between man and woman, parent and child, across the racial divide and even that of animal and human, are occasions for Hendersons delicate moral touch. Theres action, adventure and a sophisticated ending that leaves us wondering.

Unique & Intriguing

What made the experience of listening to In the Middle the most enjoyable?

This was such a unique and interesting read. I didn't know anything about it heading into the novel, but I found myself pleasantly surprised by the twist and turns it took. Henderson did a nice job mixing the emotions that come with death, mistakes in our lives, and what might happen in the afterlife. It was both mysterious and intriguing, while also sprinkling in a dash of humor here and there. I won't give any spoilers away, but I recommend this book for a different and satisfying read.

Would you consider the audio edition of In the Middle to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version, but did really enjoy the narrator.

What just happened?

I loved the book but I'm not in love with the way October is treated. I hated the way this book ended. I want October to have one person show her unconditional love. I hate that every person in her life inevitably let's her down.

I never liked the brief romance she explored with Von. I wasn't 100% over the back cracking and I never felt like everyone was appropriately apologetic.

October doesn't really have anyone in her corner and I really love her character and want her to stop being attracted and forgiving towards abusive men. The exchange between October and her puller at the end of this book was so unexpected I had to reread it to make sure that I hadn't made up the overreaction of the decade by Von. It's maddening.

So aside from that this series is amazing. I find myself wanting to tell people that I know couldn't care less all about what's happening. I'm dreading finishing it.

WOW! Can't wait for the next book!

I received Torture as an ARC reader, and aging, bought it anyway. I enjoyed Torture as much as I did Touch and Tremble, but what just happened? Did all the characters take a bite of the crazy cake? Mary Twomey had my jaw dropping throughout Torture. I would think I knew where the plot line was going and it up and turned the other way. The relationships between October, Mason, Von and the rest have become more intricate and I canât wait to see what happens in the next book. To share the reasons for my jaw dropping would be a huge spoiler, so I need to leave it with the following sentiments. Someone smack Mason! I am thinking Finn needs some cayenne pepper in his gills. Mason needs to get stronger to pound Danny into the ground. Is Von possessed? Lastly, Bev oh Bev, what happened to you? This is definitely a keeper and I recommend it highly.

So many emotions.

I couldn't help but get attached to October. Can't help but feel what she feels. There were so many times I was at the edge of my seat with my heart pleading with October yet she continues to stay steadfast with her choices. Continues to distance herself. And push out those who truly do care about her.

I am definitely emotionally invested in this series. And the hopeless trials October and her gang have to go through. We all know by now that October can be her own worst enemy but hurt may cause one of her closest allies to turn on her. Working as the catalyst of an avalanche of poor choices.

The greatness continues...

This series just keeps getting better and better. I look forward to reading every new chapter and every new book. You can't beat the mix of believable characters, great settings, and wonderful plot. I am so glad there is a new book every month, as it would be difficult to wait much longer for the next installment.

Protagonist Was Too Annoying To Finish

At first, I appreciated the pop references, but the meandering monologues bogged down the book. The protagonist, and by extension the author, loved to hear themselves speak. This story was like a date that started off okay, but kept getting worse the more you learned about the other person.

Something Special

WRECKLESS holds a special place in my heart. It was the first book Ive ever read written by Bria Quinlan, and the start of my love for her stories. I know this book inside out and backwards. I can quote pretty much every other line, and have fallen for Jake Moore more times than I can count. I didnt think I could love this book anymore than I already do, and yet here I am in love once again.

Hearing your favorite story come to life is incredibly special. Lisa Zimmermans take on Bridget & Jake absorbed me and wrapped me up in their story. I could picture every situation clearly and found myself smiling and laughing along as they spent their wreckless night.

I truly truly enjoyed this rendition of my favorite story and will make sure to listen again and again.

Worth the Wait

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I've read this book multiple times and was anxiously awaiting its audiobook release. This was everything I was waiting for. The narrator nails Bridget's and Jake's voices. (The only drawback was her pitch for Rayla's voice. That one irritated me a bit and Rayla is anything but an irritating character.) Though this book covers some heavy topics (no spoilers), it has an overall lightness about it, which showcases Bria Quinlan's talent, and lets readers know that even if life feels impossible, laughter is still possible. LOVE IT.

Sweet and rebellious

The narration was perfect. It made this story real and I cannot imagine anyone else narrating this story.

I have read a few of Bria's books - also the ones publish under Catie Quinn, which is why I cannot explain why it has taken me this long to finally get to Wreckless.

I totally loved it. It's not the typical YA one would expect; it was real and heartbreaking and funny all in one.

Catching up on high school in one evening is indeed something to accomplish and considering the amount of drama in high school, she pretty much did it.

Did I say that I loved this? Yes, I think I did.

A great teaser!

Feudlings in Sight gives the reader a small taste of Charity and her perspective into the war, her gift, and her love for Hunter. But what it ALSO gives us, is a glimpse into Hunter's feelings for Charity.

I appreciated getting to know Hunter more, and learn that his feelings have a longer history that is really revealed in Feudlings. I loves these characters, especially as a blossoming couple!

The story was short, but cleared up some questions, and kept me wanting more. The story is well written. I'm anxious for more! Keep up the good work!

Enlightening

This short story is very enlightening. It takes us to a couple of years before Shane, Hunter and Charity meet Ari. It was interesting to hear from Hunter as well as see some family dynamics and Hunter's loyalty to Shane and how far duty goes for him. A very nice companion to help round out the characters.

Excellent!

I really enjoyed reading this short novel. It was nice to learn more about Shane, Charity and especially Hunter. My teenage daughter also loved the book. I appreciated the clean language as well.

Could easily have been a missing chapter from the book

This is a very short, quick read. It gives some background on Charity and Hunter. I would recommend reading it before the other Feudlings book; as it does take place prior to the other books. It is more of a quick background, than anything and could easily have been added more as a chapter in one of the books; granted it may have been out of place since it focused on Charity and Hunter, and not Ari & Shane.

I enjoyed the fuedling series, which is the only reason I picked this book up. I don't think that it really adds nor takes away from the story. It is not something you have to read to understand the characters. I like completion and that is why I read it, but after reading it , realized I could have done without it as well.

The author writes well and I think this could be viewed a bit like an appetizer.

Very good

Perfect interlude between the first and second book! All through the book though I was waiting for the introduction of Ari totally forgetting that this book is set in their first year of school and she doesn't arrive until their final year! But ya really good! Starting to love this series!

OMGosh for the Ending - What a Jaw Dropper

In the last book, a vision bothered Heather because those involved were highly ranked members of the community. In this book, she has a further vision which actually hits closer to home.

Heather is beginning to become settled in her new home, as is her mother. Her mother has met someone who puts a smile on her face. In a stunning turn of events, Barry walks away from Heather. Although everyone assures Heather she has done nothing wrong, she is heartbroken and bereft.

Over the course of two days, Heather's life goes from bad, to worse, to bad, then a major change, which finally makes Heather smile. Then Heather answers the door . . .

Absorbing Psychic Paranormal YA Yarn

The author did a great job taking her writing to the next level with this installment. The relationship between the two teens, our heroine and her boyfriend, matures, bringing with it deeper emotional challenges for both. Learning to balance co-dependence with independence for one. Not to mention figuring out how to ride out the even wilder emotional rollercoaster ride that teen hormones send one on when amplified ever further by love.

But the two teens also walk into increasing danger in this installment as our heroineâs psychic abilities become more public and are put in the service of the police. The psychic impressions drawing her into a new mystery in the sequel draw her towards political scandal and highly connected people who are far more dangerous still than some deranged killer that we encountered in the first novel. Here is calculated, cold, cunning evil that plots many moves ahead and so can do much more damage than a psychopath acting impulsively. As if that werenât danger enough.

Our heroine continues to juggle an impossible number of balls in the air. First, thereâs life at high school, which is emotionally trying on a good day, far less when youâre a âfreakâ by normal peopleâs standards. And the religious nut jobs in town are up in arms against anyone with her psychic abilities, branding her a witch, and making it impossible for her to go anywhere in public.

Give "Better Off" a Chance!

I thought this was an interesting story of a girl from a strict family. I thought the writing was good, but at times it dragged a bit. There were a few moments of predictability. Overall, it was pretty good.

Awesome Prequel

Ariana has never been allowed to have a boyfriend but she is turning 17 and thinks she knows more than her parents, especially since meeting Carlos at a party and he has shown a interest in her. She doesn't even care what her brother Jimmy thinks, when he tries to tell her Carlos isn't the guy for her, and he would do anything for her. So who will be right, will love triumph or those that know her best.

This was a great book it really does capture teen rebellion and sneakiness very well along with the. "I know what I am doing" attitude and mindset. Although I think Ariana's parents were a bit strict for todays standards, I suppose there are still a few parents like that. I had the audio narrated by Ramona Master who did a awesome job, and with the audio you can really hear the snarkiness in Ariana's voice, and the cool and calmness in Jimmy's voice. This is a great series but one I really enjoy as a audio, since Ms. Master is so good at this cast.

Thought provoking!

I loved this story. It dragged me right in. Took me back to teenage years. You've got to read it. I'm excited for more!

Good prequel

I was starting to get frustrated with the heroine. Glad she got that Carlos issue resolved. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

I loved it. great story. Retains the Hispanic flavor without being hard to understand. I am a little older than her normal demographic (I'm 50) but I still enjoyed it. Would not hesitate to recommend it to a young girl, Jr high to highschool. It's very realistic but not too graphic. if I had to give it a rating like a movie I'd have to say pg13

Straight Down Memory Lane

Every once in a while you read a book that just checks all the boxes.

Characters who you fall in love with, even though they're not perfect. Check.

A love story that doesn't consume the entirety of the story - plus the perfect book boyfriend. Check Check. (Holy crap do I love Alex)

A setting that you can insert yourself in. Check. Don't let the 90s setting throw off the fact that this is very much a YA (but today's popstars are made on YouTube, not auditioned like back in my day). The 90s don't bog down the story; it's still fun to live in that era for a bit, though.

This book was a ball of sweetness and is guaranteed to get you out of any slump. If you don't end up smiling, you're surely a monster. It's out now so I want to hear all your thoughts about it. That's all I'm going to say because I want to take us down memory lane for a bit.

I've loved all of Katie Cotugno's books, but this one was definitely the most fun. 90's girl groups and boy bands? Yes, please!!

well, first off, Katie Cotugno has done it again-she managed to simultaneously leave me annoyed & frustrated while still wanting more. i just finished reading this book earlier today, and iâm still reeling from the way it ended. itâs not the fact that the ending was left open ended, as this is Katieâs usual fashion & something that iâve grown to expect (& not totally hate) when it comes to her books, but more so about the conclusion that was actually reached in regards to something major happening in the story. even though i saw it coming from a mile away, it still managed to not only sucker punch me right in the face, but left me shaking because i was so angry at one of the characters.
