To protect her family and find a killer, Felicia "Lucky" Fascino assumed her adoptive father's identity and joined the network of moral assassins to finish the job he began. Eliminating the man responsible for murdering her mother has consumed her for the last five years. Completing the job is the only way Lucky and her family can return to a safe and normal life. Lucky's uncle, Stephen Chambers, hasn't come close to tracking the killer. He announces he's stepping down as her handler to concentrate on the investigation and names Elizabeth, his daughter, as successor.

While keeping her family at arm's length, Lucky begins to feel the weight of her career choice and reclusive lifestyle. Then a chance encounter with an enigmatic hit man during one of her jobs turns into a provocative and dangerous affair. Distracted by the secret trysts with Kenji Zinn and mounting tension within her family, Lucky starts to make mistakes that threaten her livelihood and almost claim her life. great book
I loved Lucky. You just knew she was hot and could kick your ass in 10 different ways. I enjoyed this story.
    Great story!
What made the experience of listening to Lucky's Charm the most enjoyable?
I loved the world building that the author developed through the book, it was fun to watch everything unfold.
Which character as performed by Kay Nazarchyk was your favorite?
Slightly have an issue with this point, as the narrator was not my favorite. Some of the character voices have an almost forced feel to them. Overall, it was a 4 on narration, I've heard much much worse. If I had to pick it would be the main character, Lucky.
    Any additional comments?
Looking forward to the next in series. :)

    Publisher's Summary:
Jordan Steele (The Judge) has been hired as a bodyguard for Jessica Winters, Slammer's new step-daughter. Security is usually not his thing, but he finds himself unable to refuse the offer after meeting her in person.
Jessica Winters wants nothing to do with The Judge, or any other biker for that matter, especially after being raped by one of the Devil's Rangers three years before. When she learns that her life is in imminent danger, however, she reluctantly agrees and finds herself in the care of a man who makes her tremble in more ways than one.
This book is intended for listeners ages 18 or older due to explicit language, sexual situations, and violence. This is a work of fiction and is not meant to be a true depiction of a motorcycle club. It was written for entertainment only.
It can be heard as a standalone but will be more enjoyable if you first listen to the previous two books in the series (to learn more about the characters).

neededneeded male and female narrators. Jordan sounded like a woman. it took away from the excitement
    Decent story and narration
I liked this one better than the 2nd one. Since I listened back-to-back the narrator switch threw me, but I adjusted.
    Ok
I enjoyed the two other stories, but they just seem to fall short in the end. This one really fell short for me. Not a good ending in my opinion. Should have at least had an epilogue.
    fantastic
loved it very good series it is so real to life good book starting the next one
    Enjoying this series!
Fearing the Biker is the third book in the series and it focuses on the developing relationship between Jessica and Jordan. Jessica is a nurse who was raped by a biker in the very first chapter of the first book. The guilty biker was evil as they come. After that we learn nothing more about her yet we learn quite a bit about the biker who gets his just desserts. In book 3 we get to know her and she isnt into the biker life at all but when her life is at stake shes thrust into it and falls for Jordan better known as Judge.
The story flows quick moving from one action filled scene to the next. As a reader or listener I love that because it holds my attention. There are enough details to give a picture of whats happening without bogging down the story. The author holds nothing back including language and explicit scenes. Its not for younger readers but for adults and is very entertaining. The story didnt disappoint.
The only thing that threw me was the switch to a different narrator. From an authors perspective it makes perfect sense because the story centers around two new individuals as a listener it took me several chapters to get into the new narrator. No complaints, she did a great job.

Sixth In The Series and Still Going
It's ... a short story. The "Bookburners" series has been a bunch of short stories by some well-known authors. They've been hit-or-miss. None of them have sucked, but none of them has been exceptional, either.
They're fun. They're readable. They're coming out at a rate of one per week.
    bazaar and interesting twists
The story was very creative. It was at times bazaar but that was one of the things that made it so interesting. I love the varied characters.

They said the dead can't hurt you.... They were wrong.
The House on Cold Hill is a chilling and suspenseful ghost story from the multimillion-copy best-selling author of Dead Simple, Peter James.
Moving from the heart of Brighton and Hove to the Sussex countryside is a big undertaking for Ollie and Caro Harcourt and their 12-year-old daughter, Jade. But when they view Cold Hill House - a huge, dilapidated Georgian mansion - Ollie is filled with excitement. Despite the financial strain of the move, he has dreamed of living in the country since he was a child, and he sees Cold Hill House as a paradise for his animal-loving daughter, the perfect base for his web-design business and a terrific long-term investment. Caro is less certain, and Jade is grumpy about being separated from her friends.
Within days of moving in, it becomes apparent that the Harcourt family aren't the only residents of the house. A friend of Jade's is the first to see the spectral woman, standing behind her as the girls talk on FaceTime. Then there are more sightings as well as increasingly disturbing occurrences in the house. As the haunting becomes more malevolent and the house itself begins to turn on the Harcourts, the terrified family discover Cold Hill House's dark history and the horrible truth of what it could mean for them....

    Not up to par
I am a huge fan of the Roy grace series. This book, however, dragged on and on. I listened to it. I probably wouldn't have finished it if l had been reading it.
    Great story
What did you like most about The House on Cold Hill?
I have always enjoyed Peter James books. This is a very different from the thrillers I am used to by him. A ghost story is something I did not expect from Peter James but, it was very good and the end was better than I expected. Worth a listen
What about Nicholas Boultons performance did you like?
Great to listen to and adds vision to the story
Ghosts can send text messages in this book
I'm a huge fan of Peter James - especially his early horror books - but unfortunately this one didn't hit the mark for me. There are far too many haunted house cliches (i.e. refusing to leave even in the face of clear malevolence), with the unwelcome addition of a ghost that can hack into mobile phones and computers! The "twist" at the end was rather predictable/derivative too.
On the plus side, the audio book narrator was excellent, and I suppose I could say that it is definitely one of the best "text messaging ghost" stories I have ever read.
    What a treat !
It being Xmas and all it's a great time to listen to ghost stories. This definitely does not disappoint. The line of the story is not new but catches you up in it and before you know it you really, really, really want to know how it's going to end ...

    Loved This PSI Thriller!
I really enjoyed this book by Alexander and Rain. I've read all the other PSI books (waiting for the third to come out soon) and thought they were good but this novella-sized book is definitely my favorite of the series. It starts off slowly as the authors try to get the reader up to speed on what's going on, but soon enough the plot picks up, the story flies by and it's over before you want it to be (it will continue in the next PSI book coming out, yay!). Thank goodness we aren't left with a big cliffhanger, though we are left with some story still being left open-ended. The PSI (Psychic Sensory Intelligence) is a group remotely connected to the CIA and are all psychic in some way, each with their own unique abilities. Together they are able to track down the government's enemies better than any other group in the business. This book tells PSI Agent John Herrel's story and is full of action, romance, a little science fiction, and, of course, psychic abilities. I'm a fan of Rain's and this book is being added to my favorites list for sure.
    Loved it BUT...
Loved it. Looking forward to reading other books by this author. However, I do feel cheated. In the Foreward of the book it describes the series as 12 connected books and then gives the following (quoted directly from the book):
"What do all 12 of these passengers have in common? May 12 New York (AP): A Skyway Airlines flight carrying 375 passengers and 13 crew bound for Romeâs Fiumicino airport from New Yorkâs JFK International Airport has disappeared off the radar overnight according to airline spokespersons. Skyway Flight 12 had left New York at 12:00 midnight Monday evening and was said to be operating normally and in good weather conditions. According to sources on the ground, the plane, a Boeing 767, was piloted by an experienced flight crew who issued no alarm of any kind prior to vanishing somewhere over the Atlantic ocean east of Newfoundland. The 767 is said to be a reliable twin engine carrier thatâs been in service since 1982 with an excellent safety record. While a catastrophic mechanical failure is presently being investigated, says an FAA spokesman, a criminal event is not being ruled out. Both sea and air rescue crews have been dispatched from the US, Canada, Newfoundland, and Ireland. This is a developing story.
So, thriller fans, itâs time. Fasten your safety belts. Return your seat backs and tray tables to their full upright and locked position. Review the safety information card in your seatback pocket once more before take off.

For Robert Spire, an environmental lawyer, what seems like a standard executor's appointment in his client's will turns out to be anything but, as he is thrust into an international conspiracy involving a plan to push the Arctic to its tipping point and the world to disaster....
Tipping Point is a fast-paced, climate-fiction action thriller with a perfect blend of action, suspense, adventure, and thrills to keep you listening until the very end.
    Two dead climatologists...
When eminent climatologist Dr. Dale Stanton - in the process of studying the Atlantic Ocean's thermohaline circulation - is found dead in his London apartment, environmental lawyer Robert Spire is given the task of administering a large legacy left to global warming organizations. The job is straightforward until a second climatologist, Dr. Jack Bannister, drops dead on the other side of the Atlantic.
    An international conspiracy...
Spire's client - suspicious of her son's death - asks him to travel to San Francisco to investigate Dr. Jack Bannister's death. While there, he meets French climatology professor Francois Trimaud, who is working on a geoengineering project to seed the Arctic Ocean with an experimental substance - the aim to prevent, or at least slow, the Arctic's melting ice. Spire soon discovers that someone has other plans for the region and wants the climatologists dead at all costs.
    A looming ecological disaster...
As evidence of increased glacial melt in Greenland and reduction in the Arctic ice mounts, Spire becomes determined to join Trimaud on the research vessel Mercure Blanc, on a joint US/French expedition to the Arctic. He soon finds, however, that the lives of all onboard are in peril....

I really liked this audible book.
I listened to this book on audio.
I loved the science which turned out to be a little more scary than the Russian hired killer.
I love how the climate change served as a catalyst for the plot line.
The characters, our main protagonist specifically were like able.
I cannot honestly say that the book gripped me so much that I could not put it down. However every time I had time to listen to more of it I was delighted to do so.

High Octane Edge of Seat Thriller
This was a fast paced high octane edge of one's seat thriller. It was fun and exciting. If you like action espionage genres such as James Bond or Mission Impossible and conspiracies then this book is for you.
I sort of thought the hero acted really dumb at times, as if he had a death wish, however the book was so much fun and exciting I overlooked this flaw. The hero has more lives than a cat as well as a lot of dumb luck combined with his McGiver skills and creativity therefore he keeps getting out of deathly traps and jams.

Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 7 votes
    Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense
    Publisher's Summary:
Bumping Off Fat Vinny is a lighthearted look at the attempts of authors Margaret Stanton, Danny Garrett, and Maria Mancuso make to do away with a scoundrel who seemingly has more lives than a cat. It confirms the old adage that the best laid plans of mice and men sometimes do, in fact, go astray.
The authors were contracted to write the true story of Maria Mancuso, widow of murdered Mob boss Tony "The Nose"; they knew they had produced the ultimate true crime story - one that would receive an avalanche of literary awards and mountains of praise from their publisher, Fat Vinny Vitali. In fact their agent had already pitched the story to a movie studio, and a contract was pending. How could it get any better?
Then the bad news. Fat Vinny refused to accept the manuscript as written, instead demanding the authors actually solve the murder of Tony "The Nose". He threatened to hold the project in limbo until they gave into his demands. After several tense meetings with Fat Vinny and consultation with an attorney, the authors realized the only way out of their publishing contract was if Fat Vinny died. The more obnoxious he became in his demands, the more convinced they were they might have to help Vinny's untimely demise.
The fun begins when the three writers become murder conspirators in what they believe will be a foolproof effort to save their book and the movie deal.
    Members Reviews:
Sometimes you just need to funny book
OK, so the plot is barely above a Stooges movie sometimes, but the dialogue is good, the characters, especially Vinny, have real personalities and there are more than enough laughs for the money. The big surprise ending is icing on the cake.
Fun to listen to, great ending
If you could sum up Bumping Off Fat Vinny: Revenge Is Sweet in three words, what would they be?
    Silly, fun, harmless
Would you recommend Bumping Off Fat Vinny: Revenge Is Sweet to your friends? Why or why not?
Probably not too strongly. I almost returned it, but the ending made it all worth while.
What does Tom Lennon bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Without his narration I don't think the book would hold much interest for me. The plot is weak and only his characters bring out what little humor there really is. He actually made me like the bad guy more than the good guys.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Well, yes. It is a pleasant harmless way to spend some time. No suspense, but an easy book to listen to.
    Any additional comments?
There are a few laughs here and the twist at the end is really a good one, but the basic plot of the book is not very believable.

    Don't bother
I reviewed this book and it got pretty good reviews but I thought the story was lame and predictable. Not crazy about the narrator either.
Maybe 3 and a half stars..
    Any additional comments?
This was a pretty good read/listen, with some very nice sexual tension and one sex scene. The storyline was interesting and somewhat exciting. Blake and Julie were both great characters, as was Marie, Cannon, Austin and Randall. Even though it really didnt make any sense that the ME put Julies husbands time of death at 2:00 and she had all kinds of witnesses saying she didnt even leave work until 2:00, even a cop was a witness. Plus, they were getting a divorce so why would she invite him to her apartment and shoot him? That would have been a ticket to prison. So, that was silly. There was murder and shoot-outs so it kind of made up for the silly events.
As to the narrator: He did good in some places and terrible in others. He didnt do a good job on the womens voices but he read with great emotion. My biggest complaint was that he did sound a little tipsy, or he just reads slurring his words. Im not sure I would listen to him again. He only has 2 books hes narrated and I listened to the sample of the other one and it was fine. So, I dont know.
Writing is juvenile. Narrator sounds drunk.
Well I can't say I enjoyed this story very much. The writing was very juvenile. The characters were somewhat fake. The romance seemed to be put in the story and the chemistry was forced and didn't feel genuine at all. There is a very mild written sex scene that also seemed like it was thrown in too.
The story line and plot had potential but the book seemed like it was written by a high school student. Not very good, to be honest,
There is a lot of dialogue so there is that. I like lots of dialogue.
As for the narration? WOW this guy sounds like he has a very bad case of dry mouth, and was a bit drunk, buzzed or something. He didn't do a very good job at the female voices either. It was not a pleasant listen to be sure. I will pass on this narrator in the future.
Luckily this was a free KU book and the audible was 1.99 it should have been free for both. I cannot recommend this story or this narration. Sorry.

I'm much more into sci-fi. So this book was just enough "weird" to keep me interested.
The narrator did a fine job. There were no editing problems that I can recall.
There were just a few little things that bothered me, but didn't detract from the 5 stars. In the beginning, there was a guy that got scratched and he became very ill. I was expecting him to turn into something or at least die. He was extremely sick, which was caused by the scratch. (At least I'm remembering it as a scratch. I don't think it was a bite.) Later on, the lead female character gets scratched, pretty severely and nothing happens. There's more time spent on describing the scratches, the talons going into her flesh like fish hooks, skin parting, talons gripping, hands curling, etc. Nothing else is mentioned. She doesn't get sick or even a band-aid. The following day, after a night's sleep, she's up and getting dressed up for a formal dance/mayor's shin-dig thing. Slices like that should have at least gotten some stitches. And now that I'm finished, I look at the book cover. I can see how they tried to make this look like one of them, but what about the teeth?
To sum it up, I highly enjoyed the book and give it 5 stars!

    FBI thriller with a TWIST!
You like FBI storeys? Oh you do? Then you will like this. This is a good FBI thriller from Michael McBride. I never read something from him, and i have lost out i understand after this book. I would recommend "Predatory Instinct" to any one who enjoys a great thriller. But this is a story with a Twist! Most because of this "creature" the FBI is chasing! Its when the Sfi elements comes inn i feel this book is at its best. I think this is a book all people will LIKE, but not love. The efforts of the FBI team is engading, but not fantastic. So not full pot.
Scott Thomas is fantastic! Not only fantastic, but he almost make the book better.
