  • Prejudice is how your weak, fearful nature shows itself.

When you see a string of news stories talking about a particular group of people, it may seem safer to judge someone who shares common characteristics with that group, such as race, based on what you've seen on the news.  A coward will write off that entire group as too risky or dangerous to have anything to do with.  Or too strange.  Too foreign.  Too different.

We need to not be cowards. If we continue with this spineless way of interacting, we fail as a society.  As a country.  As a species.  40% of America supports the president who is pushing the narrative that the last 160 years of atrocities and discrimination against black Americans didn't happen. As they protests to try to end unjustified violence against their community, this President responds with more violence. It's more than that though.  Prejudice and even hatred runs rampant among his supporters and has become part of his re-election platform as he panders to White supremacists and encourages his followers to act out, sometimes even with violence, against the rest of us.

Since the start of his first campaign, he has effectively written off blacks, Muslims, women, the LGBT community, and everyone else who doesn't share his distorted vision of the world.

The moment we start writing off entire groups of people, we are lost.

The fact that I am even bothering to talk to you Trump supporters should tell you, I haven't written you off yet.  There is hope that even you might wake up tomorrow and decide to be better than the day you were before.  And if you do want to be better, keep in mind that you can't be a supporter of Donald Trump without also supporting the things he does that frequently cost people their lives.

  • "Abortion" or "can you support Trump and still be a good person?"

In 2019, if you are one of the people who is convinced that abortion is equivalent to the murder of children, then it was still possible for you to be a decent human being and a trump supporter. I don't agree with your position on abortion, but I understand it. I empathize with it. I don't judge people for that, even though I don't agree with them. It's a sensitive issue. But supporting a president who has repeatedly sent thugs to beat, gas, and abduct peaceful protesters (who have a very good reason to be protesting) and who has murdered over 200,000 of his own citizens it's not acceptable even for someone fighting against abortion. If you are pro-life, you should be anti-murder. If you support Trump, you are squarely in the pro-murder category

Considering that Trump knew as of February 7th how bad coronavirus was and that he had had a whole team of experts begging him since January to do what South Korea was doing, anyone who tries to insist that the majority of coronavirus deaths are not Trump's fault has no leg to stand on. At any time between the beginning of this pandemic and now, Trump could have ramped up our capacity for Reliable PCR testing (not the extremely unreliable instant tests) and given us the ability to actually contact trace soon enough for that effort to actually be useful.

In 2019, in some circumstances, it was still possible to be a Trump supporter and a decent person. As of today, that is no longer possible.

  • Lee Keltner killed by security guard, NOT Antifa.

Lee Keltner struck and maced a security guard who was there to protect journalists.  The security guard opened fire. But of course the right-wing media doesn't care about the truth and is reporting that antifa murdered him.  Just another day in this dumpster fire of the country. Right-wing racists cause violent incidents and then blame everyone else, especially black people, for the results.

It's tragic that the guy died, but he was striking and macing people without provocation.  He was not there to make things better for anyone. He was there with mace in hand, looking for a fight.  He is not a hero or martyr to any cause.

  • American Exodus

This pandemic has interrupted a mass Exodus from America. After this president allowed coronavirus to steamroll the entire country and killed tens of thousands of Americans who didn't need to die, it is an absolute certainty that this Mass Exodus will resume as soon as countries feel safe enough from coronavirus to open their borders to us again.

But people aren't leaving the country because of trump. People are leaving the country because it has lost its way and failed to live up to the ideals it was founded on.  America has adopted a philosophy of toxic nationalism in which no criticism of America is tolerated.  Any suggestion of any area in which the country needs work and has room for improvement is attacked as being un-American, even traitorous.  The 40% of this country who are responsible for these attacks continue a legacy of hatred that goes back to the Civil War.

There is an absolute hatred between two halves of the country.. Cost of living is skyrocketing while wages are frozen in place.  Religious dogma is being used as the basis for public policy.

40% of the country believes this is all fine and dandy.

  • A quick note to the Trump supporter in Michigan who booby-trapped their Trump sign and sliced up a city worker's hand

She's trying to lie and say that she didn't booby-trap the sign. I may not have proof positive that she did it, but saying that someone stole the sign and returned it with razor blades along the bottom smells like BS.  Booby trapping Trump signs is a popular hobby among supporters of our Mass Murderer In Chief.

This is a problem that needs to be dealt with seriously. The County Attorney needs to be filing charges on this woman. Everyone who rigs there Trump signs in a way that could hurt people need to be arrested. From now on, every time I'm out with my dog I'm going to be looking for booby-trapped Trump signs and calling the cops whenever I find them.

  • Dear GOP, you've lied so much, even Republican citizens are fact-checking you now.

Republicans and especially Trump supporters have spent the past four years drinking the Kool-Aid and are now waking up. Trump supporters have thrown away relationships with people in their lives over things that aren't even true. As the election approaches and the discourse gets more intense, people are waking up to this more and more.  You are looking at a bloodbath of Watergate proportions and even I don't want that.

  • Antifa is the new N-word

Antifa is not out in the streets demonstrating. Know how I know that? Because they don't exist. Not as a group. Antifa is simply a philosophy and a set of techniques for resisting fascist rule. It doesn't have leadership, members, or recruitment any more than the Anarchist Cookbook does. Antifa is what Trump supporters and Republicans talk about as a Counterpoint to the problems caused by white supremacists and right-wing extremist groups. In the past 25 years, right-wing extremist groups have killed hundreds of people. Left-wing extremist groups have killed zero people. Trying to delegitimize these protests by saying that they are antifa riots is an objectively racist thing to say. From now on, anyone who talks about antifa like it is a real group has just identified themselves as racist.

  • Jason Miller, you are a treasure and a gift to the world.

Every time I see you on Fox News, I am more impressed and increasingly humbled by your greatness.  Later in life, we will all have to look back at how we each conducted ourselves during this critical time in our history.  I envy you, sir. I have no doubt that you will look back and see that the things you said and did were good things that were beneficial to the country as a whole.  You have my unending admiration.  LOL.

  • Election violence won't come from the Left.

If Trump wins, we'll respect the results. But I see a lot of you saying that if Trump asks you to violently revolt in the event of a Biden win, that you will do exactly that.  Is that seriously where we're at now?  You would really set off a civil war just because of a Biden presidency?  Surely some part of you sees how insane that is.

And do you really think you're up for killing fellow Americans?  I don't think you realize what a nightmare that would truly be.
