This week, Tilly, Met and their token science student Harriet bring you a mega episode talking all-things-contraception. We look into how birth control has been empowering and changed the shape of the world as we know it, but also look at the complexities that come with pushing contraception completely into the women sphere. We tell some of our own experiences and read out some of your responses. Finally, we look at why the male pill doesn't exist, despite  research that men would be open to it. All in all, we reckon that contraception should not just be a women's issue, as this reinforces gender disparity and is harmful to men too!! <3 <3 <3

In an *academic* analysis of Tiktok, Instagram and reality TV we discuss how the 'perception' of success - that is, fame - has become conflated with our ideas of success. We declare that the '15 Minutes of Fame Trope' is dead, as reality TV and going 'viral' is now an entry point to careers. If all this sounds like a yawn, at least tune in for the start where Tilly presents her 'Viagra Game Show'. All investors are welcome!

Our language extraordinaire told us all about why slurs matter and the impact translation has on changing meanings of words. Who thought you could study the philosophy of swear words, with a thesis titled "C U Next Tuesday"! Met and Til muse on the emerging use of pronouns in our own lives and work, as a real-life example of the power of language, and how it can influence our reality. Of course, a little crumbs podcast wouldn't be complete without mention of our texts with our parents .... we hope they learn that 'LOL' doesn't mean 'Lots of Love' sometime soon. P.S. well done Melbourne, proud of all you vaccine legends x
