After a mini swotvac break, Tilly and Met are back in your ears with our latest episode talking all about narratives of success in this 21st century post-capitalist nightmare. Just joking, its not all bad news! Leaving uni, the quarter-life-crisis about our future careers and ideas of success is at the top of our noggins. We look at the idea of the 'cult of personality' and how its no longer used by tyrannical politicians, but by everyone with a social media presence. In an *academic* analysis of Tiktok, Instagram and reality TV we discuss how the 'perception' of success - that is, fame - has become conflated with our ideas of success. We declare that the '15 Minutes of Fame Trope' is dead, as reality TV and going 'viral' is now an entry point to careers. If all this sounds like a yawn, at least tune in for the start where Tilly presents her 'Viagra Game Show'. All investors are welcome!
ps. it was pouring outside our window, so please excuse some rainy sounds in the background xoxox
