Enjoy our first episode of a continuing series titled Truly Talented. Other than getting a chance to talk with talented and passionate people, we want to use this series as a political gateway for others. Also as educators we love to always be learning, especially about topics we aren't familiar with.
Today's guest, Eilea Given, is a Canadian Jump Rope Athlete (yes competitive jump rope is a sport!). Eilea has won many medals and titles and has recently been coaching jump rope to both skilled jump rope athletes and beginners alike. Please share your thoughts and feelings with us about today's episode.
Enjoy & Solidarity

Little Red School House focuses on issues with our current education system and ways we can empower students, educators, and anyone who cares about education.
Shouldn't people be put before profits? Shouldn't our children be educated to grow and learn instead of being treated like the means to the financial gain of those in power? If you agree with this so-called "radical" and "revolutionary" perspective, you've come to the right place!
Join educators Gord Milstone and John Battalion as they call out systemic problems and discuss how we can break down barriers in the educational system. Engage with us on social media at @LRedSchoolHouse on twitter. You can also find us on Patreon at patreon.com/LittleRedSchoolHouse.
Please rate and review Little Red School House on iTunes too. This will help increase our reach.

This week we are joined by Bashir Mohammed a journalist in Edmonton, Canada. Bashir tells us about an ongoing story concerning the racist and discriminatory treatment of a student, his mother, and to Bashir himself for daring to go public.
No matter the side of the border, we as educators must speak out against policies and behaviors that discriminate against people.
Thank you Bashir!

After listening to our episode "Grades are Capitalism in Action," a former student from Jefferson County Open School in Denver reached out to us. "I never got a single grade while attending JCOS," Edward told us.
Obviously, this sparked our interest. This led to a fantastic conversation that had become one of our favorite episodes.
Not only did we get to hear about Edward's experience as a student of an open school, but we also got to speak to his former advisor and former teacher from the same open school, too.
Thank you Lauren and Edward for an amazing time.
We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed making it.

We are excited to share the second episode of our We Can Make it Better series.
Our guest following last episode with Brett from Rev Left, is our very own John Battalion the co-host of this podcast. Brett is a very tough act to follow so please be kind.
Our goal is to make imagining the end of Capitalism easier than imagining the end of the world.
Listen and Enjoy!

In this amazing episode we read and discuss the amazing article with the same title of this episode - " Grades are Capitalism in Action" - by economist & economics professor Dr. Richard Wolff.
We agree with the esteemed Dr. that grading teaches meritocracy, which in turn helps deflect blame for capitalism's failures onto its victims. That is why we also share ways that we challenge the capitalist grading structure within our own classrooms and offer ways that we can educate without grading.
