The first trailer has been released for Disney's live-action Moana, which appears to be a near beat-for-beat retelling of the 2016 animated film. The trailer shows scenes like Moana on her island, the sea choosing her as a toddler, and Maui transforming into a hawk. Dwayne Johnson will reprise his role as Maui, though he is only seen from behind in the trailer, while Catherine Lagaʻaia stars as Moana. Directed by Thomas Kail, the f[1]il, the f[1]il, the film is set to be released on July 10, 2026.[1]
