What lens do you view your world through?
Does the world jade you?
Do you see the world as a place of endless possibilities or a scary place that’s not safe?
Today for you if:
You know you’re not fully engaging with the world.
Struggle to have a healthy view of the world around you.
Want to make a difference in your world?
What lens do you view your world through?
1. Old Lens: I must make the world a better place.
The world is imperfect, and I can work towards improving it and improving myself.
New Lens: Serenity
Accept the world as it is and stop seeing it’s your job to fix everything.
2. Old Lens: People are dependent on me for help.
I have worth and am worth loving because others I help like and need me.
New Lens: Humility
Let pride give way to humility by acknowledging your limits, recognizing your needs, and asking for help.
3. Old Lens: The world values only winners, so I must win and avoid failure at all costs.
New Lens: Hope
When you connect to hope, you can begin to believe the world is generous and can support you without having to earn it all.
4. Old Lens: I see I’m not like others. There is something different about me. I need to strive for my true identity.
New Lens: Equanimity
Equanimity allows you to equally see your positive and negative qualities, not just focus on the negative.
This allows you to stop comparing yourself to others and feeling like the only outsider.
5. Old Lens: The world invades my privacy; I must protect my resources and energy.
New Lens: Non-attachment
You’re learning to participate in the world while living with an open hand, knowing there’s more where that came from.
6. Old Lens: The world is a scary and unsafe place. I must test and question so I can feel safe.
New Lens: Faith
Having faith that the world isn’t all bad. You step into courage when you realize your fears are primarily self-conceived.
7. Old Lens: The world is full of exciting possibilities, ideas and experiences; I need to explore as much of it as possible.
New Lens: Sobriety
Sobriety tempers the gluttonous hunger for stimulation. You experience a quality of life instead of just quantity.
8. Old Lens: The world is a brutal and unjust place; Only the strong survive. Good things happen to those who control.
New Lens: Innocence
It allows you to become more open-hearted, to appreciate and experience life without judgment or being jaded by experiences.
9. Old Lens: People need to treat others with respect. I can see that the world is not a harmonious place, so I can’t fully assert myself.
New Lens: Right Action
Move out of inertia, discover your own purpose, and then act on it. When you discover your voice matters in this world, you will live life more fully, and others will be blessed by what you bring to the table.
When you change the lens you see the world; you will change your world.
