How do you deal with a problem?
Do you go straight to your head - stuck in the analysis of paralyze?
Or, maybe you go straight to your heart - How will this affect other people?
You struggle with “fire, ready, aim,” or act before you think.
You go straight to your head and get stuck overthinking.
You over-feel, and when problems come, you’re more worried about what others are feeling, and it causes you not to act or not think before you act.We all have three brains, three centers of intelligence or expression.
Head - Thinking center
Heart - Feeling center
Gut - Action centerAre you think, feel or act first?
Our goal is to balance all three.
If you usually think first, try acting or feeling first.
If you typically move or act first, try thinking or feeling first.
If you normally feel first, try moving or thinking first.Try one of these options to help you stretch to the opposite:
If you need to act more: walk, dance break, move your body, stretch or do yoga, or scream.
If you need to think more: meditate, journal, get it out of your head, and brain dump.
If you need to Feel more: connect with a friend or spouse and share what you’re feeling, journal what you’re feeling, or meditate. When we balance our centers of intelligence, we get unstuck. We can solve problems more effectively, connect better with people and do what we need to even when we don’t want to.
In this episode, I used the Enneagram to break down the centers of intelligence/centers of expression to solve problems and get unstuck.
