August 01, 2020Ep. 42: Paradise Isn’t a Place, It’s a State of MindThis episode was recorded in my personal paradise- Cape Cod, Massachusetts (excuse the poor audio- the mobile mic wasn’t the best). This place is my ultimate getaway where we stay for part of the summer to recharge and unwind. But in the past, I had relied on this place to get me through my tough times. I thought that coming here was going to make all the problems disappear, but it didn’t. I learned that my mindset had to change coming into vacation so that I could be there fully. Otherwise, I could miss the entire vaca worrying about how much time was left before I had to return to my problems. SONG: Artist- Sol Rising Track- We Are Forever (Feat. Gyrefunk) Album- Dreamer (2019). July 21, 2020Ep. 41: Exploring Consciousness- Level 2 (Awakening to YOUR Version of Reality)We continue the discussion on the levels of consciousness related to manifestation and actively creating the world that you live in. This conversation was one that was inspired by a huge download that resulted from a conversation that Heath had with a very wise and enlightened person. This information is related to the levels that we move through when we realize that we can move from a prescribed level of living, to a live that we are actively creating on every turn. July 13, 2020Ep. 40: Those Who Share the Ride of Life With UsA recent loss in the family inspired this episode. We recently last our four-legged friend Caesar who brought joy to us for 14 years. Looking back on the opportunity to be a part of that little life was what brought gratitude to the situation to overcome grief. When those closest to us stepped up in a show of support, there was gratitude for having those people support us. But then there was the thought of “where has ____ been, why don’t they care enough to reach out” brought resentment and discourse. Heath talks about how to process the thoughts of when people don’t show up for us in the way that we had hoped. The concept of looking at our lives like a bus ride, that people get on and off of at different times has helped put things into perspective when thinking about those who are no longer there in our lives. We visit a profound audio clip of “A Reason, A Season and A Lifetime” by Preston Smiles that also helped to move through this life’s lesson. June 22, 2020Ep. 37: Our Scars Remind Us That the Past Is RealA recent review on apple podcasts that said “remember where you came from” sparked a memory of some song lyrics that has resonated with Heath for many years. Our scars that we accumulate are sometimes covered up for one reason or another. We feel like we need to hide our scars, both physical and mental, so that we don’t appear to be “damaged goods” to the outside world. When in all reality, we need to wear those scars like a badge of honor to show off what an amazing finished product we are. Heath talks the Japanese art of Kentsugi, and touches on appreciating his scars by celebrating his milestone of surviving 10 years since his second fight with cancer. We need to view our scars from a place of appreciation, and what they taught us from that experience- rather than looking at it from a perspective of loss. June 13, 2020Ep. 36: Do You Have A Dream?Do you have a dream? This was a question asked of Heath recently by a colleague, and for the first time he had to ponder what that really meant. Many of us have goals that we set, but are they dreams? Are we aiming for the top of the mountain when we could be aiming for the stars? Heath poses the question to the listeners, what is your dream, when did you last have a dream of what your life could be like, and are you allowing yourself to dream in your life? We stop dreaming at a young age, but why? What could happen if we not only started dreaming again, but if those dreams started to come true? May 31, 2020Ep. 34: My Perspective- The George Floyd MurderIn this emotional episode, Heath talks about his view on the 5/25/2020 murder of George Floyd, a black man in Minnesota who died in police custody while a white police officer knelt on his head and neck. Heath speaks from a place of authenticity as a former police officer for 18 years and a politician who now oversees and creates public policy.
