Sydney Ryker woke up one day and realized that despite her external success, she had lost touch with her true self. So she embarked on a journey of self discovery, leading her to become a transformational speaker and entrepreneur. Now, Sydney empowers audiences to view life through a holistic lens in order to achieve the things we all want in life.
"I actually have everything that I could ever want, but the beauty is now I don't need it. I don't need it to be okay. I don't need it to feel validated."

Retired Air Force Colonel Martha McSally made history as the first woman in the United States to become a Top Gun fighter pilot. Her impressive military career was marked by incredible achievements, honors and awards, but she also endured harassment, abuse and assault by a senior officer. In this episode, Martha shares her journey of overcoming trauma and adversity by rising above all of her fears, facing them head on, and proving the Air Force wrong. When she was told no she couldn’t be a fighter pilot because she was a woman, that ignited a fire in her belly to make it happen.
“...They told me, ‘You can't do this because you're a girl, and it is against the law.’ I never had been told that in my life….It was like, ‘Nope, I am a fighter pilot and I am going to will this into existence’…I kept the dream in my heart…I wouldn’t take ‘No’ for an answer. I refused to give up...”
Martha was deployed six times to the Middle East, and Afghanistan, flying more than 350 combat hours in an A-10 Warthog and earned the Bronze Star. Her book, "Dare to Fly: Simple Lessons in Never Giving Up" can be found on her website: www.marthamcsally.com.

Whether through her roles as a TV reporter or the former unofficial first lady of Canada, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau has met kings and queens, presidents, first ladies, major celebrities, all of whom, she says, have inspired her to become a passionate advocate for mental health. As a teenager, Sophie suffered from a serious eating disorder and it was only after she went public with her private battle that everything changed.
“...When I talked about my eating disorders, it was 20 years ago, and nobody was talking about it. But in the past 5 years, I think there's been an exponential growth curve, and how we talk about mental health, and also massive investments in mental health, because people are realizing that it's a true crisis…”

Mike Lee built an international basketball brand from his college apartment, working with elite players like Steph Curry and Joel Embiid, all while battling anxiety and depression. Today, instead of building basketball players, he's building leaders by sharing high performance leadership lessons from the hearts and minds of the NBA’s elite players.
“...The present moment is the only thing that actually exists. It's the only place where we have the ability to take action in order to influence our future, to influence an outcome…I'm using the word ‘influence’ and not ‘control’…there’s this mental place where we have to be able to be fully in the moment to do the work, and at the same time be completely detached from the outcomes.”

Light Watkins has taken what he calls “a series of hops” that have all serendipitously led him from advertising to modeling to being a highly sought after yoga instructor to meditation
teacher to enlightened thought-leader. He’s also the author of four best-selling books with hundreds of thousands of followers around the world. He is a spiritual minimalist, helping people cultivate fulfillment on the inside in order to experience peace on the outside,
“...I believe that we all have callings or internal hunches or urges to do things that are inconvenient, uncomfortable, but ultimately, fulfilling and spiritually rewarding. And it could be something like running a marathon, it could be writing a book, it could be starting a podcast, could be starting a nonprofit…but we so easily talk ourselves out of it thinking that we have all these other options and these other things that we need to be doing. When really that
thought that internal urge, it doesn’t go away. It just kind of lingers. And if we ignore it too long, then it starts creating this internal friction where we start to feel like we’re living a purposeless life…”

The word "impossible" is simply not a part of Stephanie Cartin or Courtney Spritzer's vocabulary. With a "sky's the limit" mentality, these entrepreneurs walked away from their comfy corporate jobs, amid much skepticism from friends and family, and turned their side hustle into an award-winning business to find solutions to problems for other entrepreneurs.
“...I remember being so scared to quit, to say those words. I didn't want to answer any questions about where I was going because…I felt so, I don't know, embarrassed to be 24 and say to my boss, ‘I'm quitting to start my own company and…I don't know if it's gonna work. We're self funding it…” I got through that whole process, but I remember at the time feeling really scared to have the conversation.…”
Stephanie and Courtney are helping others chart a new course, through digital marketing, influencing, and by telling their story of re-creation to help others make the leap at Socialfly and Entreprenista.

Mindset is everything! That is the truth Michael Anthony lives by. He’s seen both the best and worst of life having suffered through some of the most harsh and vicious child abuse. Michael was homeless by age 10, a drug addict at 12, and by the age of 19, an alcoholic and morbidly obese. He says he spent his whole life in constant fear and chaos. Today, Michael is a trauma survivor, a trauma warrior and trauma mentor who is helping others break free from their brokenness.
“This wasn't on my to do list. I wasn't going to be the guy who talks about kids getting beat up by parents who are unhealed. But it's necessary. And you know, I think every day, if I can just show up and I can lead not only myself, but…[be there for] people who are struggling…and show them possibilities.”
Michael is an advocate for adults suffering from childhood traumas and helping them turn their trauma into a triumph at thinkunbroken.com.

You are one conversation away from changing your life. That's exactly what happened to Riaz Meghji back in 2002, and he's never looked back. Riaz was headed towards becoming a financial investment banker, something everyone expected of him, until a friend challenged him to pursue a different path and follow his dream of becoming a broadcaster. Today he's created yet another new chapter for himself as a human connection expert, helping organizations and teams build high trust cultures through meaningful conversations.
“...I had been just wrapping up a degree after four and a half years, focusing in finance, thinking that was the path and you know, honestly, it made me really reflect on, ‘Is this my path? Is this my parents’ path? Is this my imposter syndrome? Is this a lack of confidence to just go out and do something special?’ And I remember I looked at Lafi, I said, ‘Hey, man, thanks for the compliment. But you know, I don't think I can go home and say that to my parents.’ And he leaned in, in this moment and did not hesitate, and he said, ‘When are you going to stop playing safe, and start living your life?…’”
Riaz is helping us all to stop playing it safe and live our best lives, putting connection at the forefront. Visit riazmeghji.com
