  • 2. Our desire to please

Very often our desire to please is a symptom of a very deeper issue. How I see most of our toxic beliefs and things that we have to learn to unlearn is that, there must have been a point in your earlier life where you first experienced what would be a seed and with every similar experience or triggering situation the roots of the seed infiltrated your life and way of being to entrench themselves even deeper. So with that, you end up building a coping mechanism that becomes your auto-response to situations that may appear similar though at times contextually different and may not require a defense response. However, since you have been so used to fighting and protecting yourself you’ve built an armor against anything that would trigger the same feelings.

In this episode, I speak to a question that Masala shared - How do I stop being a people pleaser, and comparing myself?

  • 1. Morphing into the new

When I came across a note on social media written "don't be afraid to be seen trying", I knew I needed to plug up the courage to start again. Though this very often comes with its own fears and all. I was able to do it because it was bigger than me. This note reached me at the right time and in my mind, it settled as "don't be afraid to be seen doing it again".

In this very first episode, I give an introduction of how Living Content (LC) came about, why I decided to transition, what LC is here to bring, and lastly - I answered one of the questions that came through from the poll I posted about Healing. In the next coming weeks, I will be dedicating time to answer all of the questions.

  • Living Content - Official Trailer

Welcome to the Living Content podcast. This podcast is to affirm and give permission to my African sisters who like me, for many years didn’t know how to hold space for healing, joy, and love. Who didn’t know that joy is for them too and they too deserve the luxury to heal in safe beautiful spaces that honors and recognizes our wounds. This the place where conversations about healing are made less awkward but more normal.

    Thank you for being here.

    Just a little about LC:

Living Content is not to say our lives are perfect or we are perfect above or against any measure or anyone, but to know that we are Perfect, made Whole and Complete amidst the endurance of our pain in whichever way it broke us. You can say I am Devinely whole and I am Perfect. It is about remembering that.

It is not to defend or fight to claim that fact, even when we made to believe that. You can rest in that knowing that you matter and you are enough just by Being.
