Sometimes people are intimidated by prayer and by the way others pray. It doesn’t have to be that way. We all prayer differently and one person’s expression to God in prayer isn’t any better than the next person’s. The best expression is the one from your heart.

The lesson is two-fold: Watching our tongue and watching who we listen to. Words are powerful.

This is probably the most important faith principle to remember: “What comes out of our mouth determines victory or defeat!”

The tongue is our index of spiritual maturity.

Our words are a measure of our maturity.

In James 1:19-20 give the characteristics of a mature person:

1. A good listener

2. Slow to speak (Have good control of our tongue)

3. Slow to anger

People can't see your faith, but they can see what you do!

For just as the [human] body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works [of obedience] is also dead. James 2:26 [Amplified]

The first thing we must do is reconcile the statement of the Apostle Paul and James. Paul’s statements that we are justified by faith and not works speaks about our being justified before God. We cannot work our way into heaven.

James speaks of our faith being justified before men by our works. We must have both.

Justification means absolution of guilt by God or to defend and uphold.

We are absolved of our guilt by faith and we defend and uphold the gospel before men by faith.

We must know the difference because it’s important to have faith and works.

In Strong's Concordance, obedience in the Hebrew is defined as “hearing intelligently.” In the Greek, it means “to hear under (as a subordinate); to listen attentively.”

Only those who hear God and obey His voice will reap the full rewards that God has for them. Obedience is the only way to secure the blessings.

The way we know what God desires is to familiarize ourselves daily with the Word of God. The Bible reveals His will in every situation. And if we follow what God says, it's the best guarantee for answered prayers.

The definition of wisdom is Knowledge of what is true and right coupled with good judgment. The knowledge is of God's word. The judgment is our choice.

Prayer is more than an exercise--it's a lifeline to victory. God desires to be involved in our lives and help us.

God has always had the intent of manifesting His power on behalf of His saints. Prayer is our means of communicating with the Father. It is not only our communication line with the Father, but also our means of combating the devil.

Prayers are meant to be answered. God didn't tell us to pray with the intention of not answering, but we must learn how to pray in faith.

There are so many people who walk down the aisle to be saved but have not received the full revelation of what they have done. These people suffer discontentment, lack of peace, and have no joy. They do not realize the reality of their redemption.

They must realise that they have been:

1. Reconciled

2. Redeemed

3. Restored

Freedom is one of the greatest proclamations ever announced. It’s the foundation of our country. Lives have been sacrificed, and continue to be sacrificed for freedom. Freedom is the hope of many more around the world. There is a longing in the heart of people for freedom. But what does it mean? What is freedom? One definition states it is “the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.” For many it freedom is the right to do whatever you want to do, whenever you want to do it, and however you want to do it; no boundaries, no rules, no restrictions, no limitations. Do whatever you want to do. Go wherever you want to go. Be whoever you want to be. Does freedom mean the absence of law & order? No, that’s chaos. Chaos impedes freedom. Does freedom mean oppressive decrees & restraints? No, that’s slavery. Slavery denies freedom. What is freedom… true freedom?

In this teaching I want to express the truths of the freedom that Christ paid the supreme sacrifice in order for us to be free and serve Him with true liberty. I want you to learn the ability to walk in the liberty He has given us.
