John 16:5-11 | The Holy Spirit is more than a footnote to your faith. He is the most personal part of God to you. As you follow Christ, the Holy Spirit joins you in the journey. Understanding his role and learning to let him guide you makes the difference between plans that fail and faith that succeeds.
Acts 17:16-34 | This week we will look at how Paul witnessed in Acts 17:16-34. We discover the following: the Gospel is Provocative, the Gospel is Perplexing, and the Gospel is Personal.
Ephesians 2:1-10 | The Spiritual Condition of Humanity: we are born in sin, we are locked in sin, and we are hopeless in sin.
Hebrews 12:1-3 | Living for Christ will never be easy. Trying to do it in your own strength will wear you out. But if we release our sin, and look at Christ, we will not grow weary and lose heart. Christ gives us strength to run the race.
Hebrews 10:19-25 | Under the Temple system, only the High Priest could approach God one day each year. Christ restored the relationship between us and God. We have the right to be near the Lord. We should hold on to that hope, and trust the one who paid the price is faithful. If we know Christ as Savior, we are now part of the God’s family.
Hebrews 8:1-6; 10:11-14 | Priests offer sacrifices for the sins of the people. But the sacrifices only applied to the sins of the people up to that point. When he died on the cross, Christ offered the final sacrifice. Now, we can rest in our salvation because of what he has done.
Hebrews 7:18-28 | Today, Christ stands and intercedes for us. When we think others do that, we demean what he has done. We misunderstand and give credit to others who do not deserve it. Jesus is the one we pray to, and in his name, we have the right to call on the Father for help.
Hebrews 4:14-16 | Because Christ is human, he understands what we face. God’s grace means we do not have to earn salvation. But we still have to live for God in this world. Because of what Christ has done, we can ask for help and know Christ understands and responds to our needs.
Hebrews 4:1-11 | The law was a burden for the Jews to obey. Their sins were forgiven when they combined faith in God with obedience to his Law, which became a great burden. The Gospel message is that Christ gives rest from trying to prove your love to God. Instead, you can live in the love of God.
Hebrews 2:10-18 | Christ is God in the flesh. He is the sustainer of all things. Yet, he was fully human as well. Because of that, he was able to pay the price for the sins of all people. Also, he is able to identify with us at our point of weakness and greatest need.
