Philippians 4:2-7 | Sometimes it seems like we are in an epidemic of anxiety. Although God promised peace beyond understanding, many Christians don’t seem to understand how to find peace. The answer is prayer. It is the path to the peace God promised. Prayer moves us from a world of stress to a life of peace.
Psalms 32:1-11 | When we have sin in our lives, we need God’s forgiveness. When we try to ignore the sin or hide from God the weight of our guilt grows. Forgiveness comes by God’s grace. But grace requires confession, which involves prayer. When we face the truth about our sin and repent for what we have done, God uses prayer to move us from guilt to grace.
Mark 1:35-39 | Typically, we make plans and then pray for God to help when they go wrong. But, what if we were to pray about the decision first? This message is about cultivating a regular prayer life where it is normal to ask God what to do first. It’s a lot easier to ask God what to do than it is to beg him to help you overcome what you have done.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 | We all want God to bless our lives. He allows pain in our lives to save us from ourselves. Pain can bring us closer to God. God’s grace is stronger than anything we will ever face. When God lifts you up you become a different person and we see our faith grow.
Ephesians 6:10-13 | We need to slow down when things are going wrong in our lives. Struggle is about the unseen, and we cannot win the battle if we are fighting the wrong person When we slow down, we can take time to put our armor on and ask God for help. He will give you a new perspective on the battle you are fighting.
Numbers 13:26-14:9 | We live by faith and not by sight. We all need help to strengthen our faith. The more personal the struggle the more significant faith becomes. Believing is trusting what God says. If you have faith, you can believe without seeing. Believing and trusting in God even when we can’t see where he is at work, is an important step tp seeing life from his perspective.
Matthew 20:20-28 | God views greatness differently than we view success. Following Jesus should change the way we live life. Jesus set the example on how to live the Christian life. We need God’s perspective on our lives to follow him and to change.
Matthew 7:1-5 | It is important to be careful when we focus on the sins of others rather than on our own. When we are focused on others, we do not see what is going on within us. Critical spirits lead us in the wrong direction. The right perspective with God begins with a clear heart and a clear sight.
Luke 10:38-42 | The busyness of life hinders our spiritual growth and keeps us from what is really important. When we ask God to do things through our expectations, it does not go well. Worry and anxiety replace peace and joy in our lives. We need to make a change to stop doing and start listening so that we can hear God’s call.
Judges 6:1-16 | When things tend to go wrong in our lives, we often think God has left us. Actually, we have left God. God shows up when we least expect it, and he never abandons us. Faith grows one step at a time when we follow God, obey his commands, and become his friend. God sees us for who we are, and what we can become.
