Yet every year that goes by, the world seems to grow worse and worse and drifts farther away from God. Are the people of God naïve or foolish for hoping for a kingdom we can't see? During this series through Mark's Gospel, we will see that God's kingdom is coming and is already here, but it is hidden by the same suffering and humility that characterized Jesus's life.

Many people believe that their lives would be easier or more satisfying if they only had more money. Yet it's often the case that more money means more problems. In this passage, Jesus addressed the attitude his disciples should have toward possessions and warns them of the spiritual danger wealth poses.
