Everybody has experienced a major, life-altering event that neatly separates who they were from who they are now. According to the Bible, baptism functions this way for Christians by marking their conversion experience. In baptism we publicly confess our faith in Jesus and symbolize our union with him in his death and resurrection. Because we are in him, we are dead to the old way of living and alive to God in Christ!

“The biggest threat to the church's kingdom work is not found outside it but within."
