Body image - it is something we all struggle with, right? π₯΄ From the time we are young, society (and maybe even those around us) tells us how we *should* look, what we *should* eat, and how we *should* workout. Often, we focus on fixing our bodies instead of connecting WITH our bodies.
In this episode, I am sitting down with Robin Long to talk about wellness, mindset, and MORE! β€οΈ She is going to make wellness simple + attainable for you. Her goal is for YOU to understand wellness, believe you can live balanced, and help you find ways to connect with your body so wellness is something you not only want to do, but can do.
Robin is someone I admire in many ways, plus she is my best friend's boss π So I hope you enjoy listening in to this conversation with her and you walk away feeling inspired to strive for wellness in your life.

Maybe you've heard the phrase "the pursuit of happiness" before, but what does this actually look like in our lives? Today is all about pursuing happiness β not simply enjoying it or being grateful for it, but truly pursuing happiness! πThrough trials in my own life, I have learned the power of being intentional to set positive mindsets and even laugh through challenging times. As we dive into the details of metacognition and emotions, together we can begin to understand happiness on a deeper level.
Sometimes the happiest people are those who have faced the biggest trials β€οΈβπ©Ή If that is you today, I believe this journey + the pursuit of happiness will help you move towards the life you've been dreaming of. I hope this conversation inspires you to realize the pain, acknowledge the struggle, and bring in the happiness so you can learn to live lighter. βοΈ

Hi sweet friend! I don't know about you, but motherhood has a funny way of making me feel all the feels β sometimes all at once. We recently sent another one of our boys off to college, and our youngest son just started driving. Both are exciting things that also have the potential to turn me into a puddle. Today we're talking about the emotional cycles we go through as mothers, trying our best to prepare for them, and trusting our children when their time to launch inevitably arrives.
In this episode you'll hear:
π The emotional cycles we go through as mothers
β₯οΈ Preparing our hearts for when our kids launch

It's back-to-school time! Backpacks are filling up, kids are wearing new shoes, and we are trying so hard to convince them that yes, it is bedtime even though the sun is still streaming through the windows π Time marches on, and after dropping off one of our kids at college this summer I'm feeling that a little more than usual. So today I wanted to talk about intentional parenting and how we can make the most of the brief 18 years we have our kids closest to us. Every family is different, so intentional parenting looks different for everyone. The important thing is having regular quality time together.
In this episode you'll hear:
ποΈ How time with our kids is short (even when it feels long!)
πͺ The power of being present with our children
π Intentional parenting strategies from The Family Board Meeting

When was the last time you came across an Instagram post that made you "stop the scroll"? Today's episode is the first of two parts unpacking a recent post I saw about becoming "unrecognizable" by the end of 2023. There's some good advice in itβ¦ and some not-so-good advice as well π Together, let's find a healthy balance between the overachieving, productivity-obsessed culture we live in and the rest + margin we want more of in our lives.
In this episode you'll hear:
π± The Instagram post that made me stop the scroll
βοΈ A 5-minute bedtime journaling routine

Today we are talking about all things Airbnb! Okay, maybe that caught you off-guard, but this actually lines up perfectly with the concept of Living Lighter because how we present our homes matters. How we open up our homes to others matters. And in order to live lighter, we must unplug, enjoy our families, and go on vacations to replenish our souls and fill up our cups. I'm so excited to share with you about our short-term rental journey (and hopefully answer a few questions you may have as well!)

It feels amazing to be invited to something, right? And conversely, it really hurts to feel left out. That's the power of the invitation, and that's what we're talking about on today's episode. You can't control whether you get invited or not, but you absolutely can control who you extend an invite to. Imagine what could happen if you invited the new neighbor over for dinner, or that one acquaintance from Bible study to coffee. Who knows? You might just make a new best friendβ¦

Sweet friend, can I share with you what's on my heart? I wanted to give you a fun, lighthearted, "beach read" episode, but what I have for you is a bit deeper than that. Today we're talking about remaining close to Jesus in the midst of trials and deciding to take joy. And I'm intentionally saying "take joy" instead of "choose joy." Why? Because I firmly believe that joy is a gift extended to us by Jesus himself β we just have to receive it. I hope this episode encourages you to abide in Christ and find true rest in him.
In this episode you'll hear:
π A throwback to one of my blog posts from the archives
π Receiving the gift of joy that Jesus extends to us
π± Abiding in, staying close to, and finding rest in Christ
