Jana and I started taking Ballroom Dancing. It has been incredible. I can't say enough about it. We spent about half an hour talking to a new friend, Rita, a student at the studio. She's a widowed senior. I call her Senior Rita.

WE HAD A BABY born into the family last night. Our nephew and his wife are first time parents to our Great Niece, Mia.

Have you ever not done something because of your fear of failure?  "What if I'm not good at this? I've never done this before. What if I can't do it?"

Billionaire entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist, Sara Blakely's dad had a tradition of asking her and her brother "What did you fail at today?" at the dinner table.  This encouraged the Blakely's spirit of adventure toward success.  I remember a talk she gave to one of our masterminds and the feeling was that she didn't want to ever fail at trying. Not having a "Fail" story at dinner, was way worse than not succeeding at something where you were pushing outside of your own comfort zone.

Jana and I call this, "Getting into the STRETCH ZONE". 

We discuss a parable for about a boy and his grandfather.  We talk about Garrett McNamara and surfers chasing the 100 foot wave.  Surfing monster waves is all about overcoming fear of failure.

What are you not telling yourself when you say, "I think I'm going to treat myself today." ?  Are you telling yourself HOW you will be treating yourself?  You've been training hard, working out, and watching what you eat.  Go "treat" yourself to some ice cream, piece of pie, a double quarter pounder with fries and a coke. 

If you were a million dollar sports car, a racing machine, and you just did a great job in the qualifiers and were really making progress toward taking home the trophy, your owner wouldn't take you out on the dirt track, throw a raccoon orgy in the back seat, and then top off all your fluids and fuel with the cheapest,  low-grade gunk s/he could find.  "Treated" would mean a good wipe down, check up, top off with the best possible fluids and fuel available, and maybe a slow pace to run it through the system.

What time is it? The time is always NOW. Get aware of the moment you are in. Turn down the distractions and turn up the gift of the present moment.  You are exactly where you are supposed to be.  Learn what must be learned. Do what must be done. Take action now and focus on the task at hand.

Jana has a Freudian slip... who would have thought masturbation would come up in the middle of a mindfulness discussion.... multiple times.

Engage you senses. How many senses can you combine together in the moment? Can you disengage the senses and focus on just one or two?

Ground yourself in the present and you will have a firm foundation for the future. Worry and anxiety are false beliefs of a future that hasn't happened yet.  Focus on now and enjoy a powerful state of NOW to get better results in life.

We don't exercise to add days to our life; we exercise to add life to our days.  Exercising, even moderately releases all sorts of happiness "Brain Chemicals", or neurochemicals.

Are you waiting on SOMETHING so you can be HAPPY?  I often hear clients say, "When I have X I'll be Y."   It's the classic if/then equation and it doesn't add up.  It is just Bad Math.

Do you say "Yes" to EVERYTHING?  Is it hard to say, "NO"?  In order to stay true to your own Purpose in life and to be available for the best possible opportunities to live into your best possible life, you will have to set personal "Yes" "No" boundaries.

When you say "Yes" to 1 thing, you are effectively saying "No" to the 101M other possibilities available in that time space.  WHOA!!!

If "No" feels too forceful, have fun easing into your personal discernment with the word "Nope".  It's actually fun to say. 

The "Yes Mentality" is an amazing way to find your starting point and to get moving. It is also very beneficial/necessary within your "Purpose Lane", but don't get sidetracked or derailed by it.

Are you excellent at offering to help, giving compliments, being there for others? Is it difficult to receive when others try to do the same for you?  Have you ever felt like the world is divided between the #Givers and the #Takers?

When you contribute to life, relationships, or anything really, there is a law of reciprocation. It wants to "come back around".  If we contribute money to Amazon.com, we expect to receive "something/ abundance" on our doorstep in the next few days and we're completely open to receiving it.  Why is it so hard to receive all the abundance and gifts from life and people we have been investing in when the gifts/opportunities are offered?

Open up and reframe receiving to giving the givers the gift of accepting their gifts. It would be rude if someone showed up to your party with a small gift and you shunned them and said you and your gift aren't welcome here.
