The people of God cannot underestimate the power of presence, prayer and reconciliation. When we commune with the Holy Spirit daily, we desire to be whole with members of our communities, even those who have hurt us, so that our communities can be healed. When our communities are healed, there’s less anger, less crime, less incarceration, and more empathy, understanding and love.
Today’s episode is an interview with the Rev. Dr. Donna Jones, pastor of Cookman Beloved Community Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA. and Executive Director of the Metropolitan Christian Council of Philadelphia. Dr. Jones discusses the need for communities, especially in times like these, to come together and seek God together, showing God’s presence in the community through God’s people to bring healing. She educates us about the origins of the concept of Restorative Justice and Restorative Cities and tells us how we can all get involved.
