Title:                      Abundant Living: "Extreme Following"

Theme:        Jesus tells his disciples about his impending death and then says, "take up your cross and follow me", as if what he wants is for the disciples to join him in his death. But that was not the invitation. He was inviting them to follow him with all that they were, embracing the Kingdom lifestyle and going all in for God.

November 5             (All Saints)

Text:                           Exodus 4:13-17

Theme:                      Moses had never lived with the people of Israel, and the last time that he had seen them he had killed an Egyptian and caused even more pain and suffering on his

     people.  It is understandable that he would be reluctant to do God's bidding.  But God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called.

October 29              (Twenty First Sunday after Pentecost)

Theme:                      King David was a great leader and seen as the best of all the Kings to ever rule over Israel.  However, he was never perfect.  After Nathan teaches David about his  

 mmistake, David still must live with the consequences of his sin even after forgiveness is granted by God.

October 22   (Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost) 

Text:            Ephesians 4:11-16

Title:            Nothing is Louder Than Love: "Louder Than Apathy"

Theme:        Theme:        When it comes to other people and their problems we often take the attitude that, "It's none of my business?"  But what happens when someone is heading the wrong direction, or believing something that's not true?  Do we close our eyes and say it's none of our business?  In this text Paul suggests that there are times when we need to "Speak the truth in love". As much as the world is shouting that we should keep our faith to ourselves, love is much louder and calls us to share the truth.

October 8               (Eightteenth Sunday after Pentecost)      

Text:                      James 1:19-25

Title:                      Nothing is Louder Than Love: "Louder Than Anger"

Theme:         There is a whole lot of anger today. This anger manifests itself in ways that are tearing us apart.  This anger leads to everything from Road rage to family violence, and sometimes even worse. The antidote to anger is patience. No matter how angry we are, when we practice patience rooted in God's love it will be louder than anger.
