Title:                      The Star: "A Journey to Joy"

This angel of this text suggests that the news of Jesus birth would be good news to "all the people" and that it would cause great joy. That night there was much joy; the shepherds had joy, the angels sang with joy and the people who listened to the testimony of the shepherds were amazed by joy. During the season of advent we look to the past while also looking to the future; the second coming of Christ. But that future is not a picture of joy but it's an apocalyptic future. But then sometimes things have to be unmade for things to become new. This is where we find joy, in the fact that God is still creating.

Title:                      Abundant Living: "A Time to Die"

Theme:                  This text talks about the death of Moses and how Moses knew it was his time to      

die.  There is a time for all of us to die. But the truth is that time does not begin with the moment of

our physical death. Jesus tells us that we are die to ourselves so that we can live in Christ.

   November 19        (Twenty fourth Sunday after Pentecost)       

Text:                    2 Corinthians 4:7-18

Title:                    Abundant Living: "Give Thanks for Nothing"

                   Theme:                 As we approach the Thanksgiving we think about all that we should be thankful for, all of our blessings. But what happens when we don't have any blessings? How can we be thankful when it seems there is nothing to give thanks for? The more we embrace abundant living and focus on Jesus the more we find that we can give thanks in everything, that we can give thanks for nothing.
