Title:  Testing the Waters

Theme:

After we have started to learn and follow, there will start to become opportunities to ACT with the guidance of Christ.  Small and seemingly insignificant things will come up, but these are monumental in our growth.  To master complex dance routines and moves, a dancer must be willing to put themselves out on a limb and attempt… even if it means falling over and over again.  A dancer does this knowing two things: 1.) the end result of this will be something beautiful and 2.) that their teacher and leader is there to catch them.

Title:  Covered in the Dust

Theme:

To learn and use the power that Jesus gives to ALL His Disciples, we must walk with Him.  This means diving into His word with study and purpose.  It also means building a relationship with Him through prayer and meditation with the Holy Spirit.  Peter was not the rock when he was first called to follow, but after listening, learning, and following he became the one whom Christ would build the church upon.

Title:  We Choose God

Theme:

While God chooses us and stays close by, we cannot even begin down the path of being a Disciple if we do not recognize our traveling partner and teacher.  The freewill that God gave to us from the very beginning means that we have a choice that no other being in His creation does... we have the ability to choose our teacher.  We must choose wisely.

We worship a God who desires the best for all of His creation.  Before we knew what we needed, He already was calling us.  Even in the midst of darkness and ignorance, He calls us to work with Him for the glory of His Kingdom.  God has chosen YOU for great things.  Regardless of what you really think you are worth, God KNOWS the plans He has for you.

Theme:                   Busyness is a part of life. But are we busy doing the things that truly matter?           Being busy is not always better, choosing what is better is better. Jesus is with   two sisters; one who is very busy trying to impress the other simply seeking to         spend time with Jesus. One sister was running on empty, the other had her tank          filled.

These times of rest and quiet can actually be ways that God fills our tanks.

Theme:                  Truck drivers know that the heavier the load the faster you run out of gas. The           same is true in life. Often we carry such a heavy load that it’s no wonder our           tanks are empty. But Jesus reminds us that if we come to him, that he will           give us rest.
