Gerry snuffed it but managed to continue presenting Late Lunch - amazing!!  As usual Vet Sinead Kelly had all the answers, Gerry was mightily impressed on a visit to St John's National School and their Stop Food Waste programme while Rome based Dundalk fan Giordano Pantosti's diappointment at not seeing the Lilywhites in action on Friday week was somewhat eased by the club's first team coach Vinny Perth.

Giordano Pantosti from Rome became a Dundalk fan in unusual circumstances and follows the clubs fortunes from afar.  With plans in place to see his favourite Irish club for the first time on Friday week the game has only been postponed!!  But all is not lost.....

This week saw the once iconic Asiling Ballroom in Clogherhead demolished evoking a plethora of sentimentality and great memories from those who danced there from 1970 until 1994.  Today on Late Lunch Gerry Kelly in the company of Eddie Caffrey, Linda Martin and Red Hurley took a wander down memory lane.

Gerry was out and about this morning gauging the public mood on Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent which led nicely into his conversation with Fr Michael Cusack.  What a man - What a life story - Shane Healy - impossible not to be moved!  We caught up with those clever-clog students from Colaiste Ris who only went and WON the Louth Student Entrepreneur Award with their Bin Bungee.  While Nicola McDonnell's nominee Peter Monaghan was named our Unsung Hero for the month of February.

Shrove Tuesday and Tara Walker popped in to rustle us up some delicious pancakes!  A Koala rescue in Brisbane brought Sean Farrelly from Meath our way.  Save those stamps and you could be saving our precious bog and peatlands as Dr Catherine O'Connor revealed.  Their time has come says Stephen McDonnell referring to Electric Cars.  Historian Noel French told us about another historic discovery in Trim.  Olive Flanagan reopened Annaville Bakery in Navan for the day for a very good reason and Patricia Grennan revealed a family connection with WWF Wrestler King Kong Bundy who passed away earlier today.
