The Arizona State Sun Devils football program will be facing a massive overhaul at its wide receiver spot following the transfers of Ricky Pearsall, LV Bunkley-Shelton, and Johnny Wilson. The position is also devoid of proven, established starters, although the upside of some guys like Andre Johnson and Bryan Thompson is certainly appealing. However, there may be some hope for a true number one receiver in the former of former Vanderbilt Commodores wide receiver and incoming transfer Camron Johnson. Johnson sat down with Locked On Sun Devils host Richie Bradshaw and talked about his time before Arizona State University including his high school days plus his time spent with the Vanderbilt Commodores football program. Johnson also details why he chose the Arizona State Sun Devils football program over some other suitors and has nothing but glowing things to say about his new teammates, including his potential quarterbacks and former SEC players Emory Jones and Paul Tyson. Regardless of who may be throwing Cam Johnson the rock this season, the senior wideout expressed nothing but confidence and determination in his sit-down interview with us. Check out our interview with the newest Arizona State Sun Devils football star and potentially the team's top wide receiver for the 2022 season!

Which Arizona State Sun Devils football running back will be the lead guy this year? The Arizona State Sun Devils football program will be reloading the position after watching Rachaad White depart for the NFL and teammate Deamonte "Chip" Trayanum leave for the Ohio State Buckeyes football program via the transfer portal. Replacing them will be third-year man Daniyel Ngata and incoming transfer Xazavien Valladay via the Wyoming Cowboys football program by way of the transfer portal. The former of the bunch, Daniyel Ngata, served a prominent role for the Sun Devils in 2021 and he will perhaps be the team's lead back for 2022. In a worst-case scenario, he will serve as a backup to Valladay, but regardless we can safely anticipate a large role for him in the Arizona State Sun Devils' football offense this year. Host Richie Bradshaw makes some predictions on Ngata's potential box score numbers both as a runner and even as a receiver plus a touchdown total for each. Richie is certainly high on Daniyel Ngata this year, comparing the young man to former Arizona State Sun Devils football standout Eno Benjamin, but are his predictions fair or otherworldly? Tune in and chime in your thoughts on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast!

What is the Arizona State Sun Devils football team going to look like offensively? There is certainly a lot of changes coming to the unit, but none more so than the quarterback position. Gone now is Jayden Daniels, the team's starter over the last three seasons. Returning is Trenton Bourguet and incoming are transfers Paul Tyson from Alabama and Emory Jones from Florida. Of those three, it appears that Jones has the best inside track to be the day one starter for the Arizona State Sun Devils football team at quarterback thanks in large part to his established success at the position, plus his upside as a runner. Jones has some intriguing, albeit unproven, options to throw to in guys like Bryan Thompson and Camron Johnson, while a running back room of Daniyel Ngata and Xazavien Valladay could make this run game fun to watch. With a new offense and weapons around him, just what could Jones accomplish for the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2022? Host Richie Bradshaw pitches his predictions for Jones's passing and rushing yard totals, plus touchdowns and interceptions for the 2022 season.

The Arizona State Sun Devils football program has a lot of veteran and well-established players headed into the 2022 season. This, of course, will have us focusing on who must step into a full-time leadership role for the team. This has, perhaps, never been more important for the Arizona State Sun Devils football program than it will be in 2022. ASU Sun Devils football is in a massive retooling stage, one of the biggest the program has ever seen, following the departure of both its coordinators, its starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, running back Rachaad White, wide receivers Ricky Pearsall and LV Bunkley-Shelton, tight end Curtis Hodges, offensive tackle Kellen Diesch, center Dohnovan West, defensive ends Tyler John and Jermayne Lole, top linebacker Darien Butler, and entire starting secondary including Chase Lucas and Jack Jones for various reasons. With all those losses in one offseason, plus countless other departures, we will be looking to our remaining veterans to step up this year. Fifth-year guys like Merlin Robertson and Kyle Soelle top our list, as well as veteran offensive lineman LaDarius Henderson, quarterback Emory Jones, and second-year transfer wide receiver Bryan Thompson also potentially looking at incredibly important roles. It certainly wouldn't hurt if some other guys like Khoury Bethley, Ben Scott, Camron Johnson, and others stepped up, too. All in all, host Richie Bradshaw dives into detail on how and why these guys could/need to become leaders for the Arizona State Sun Devils football program in 2022.

Nobody loves a good ole fashion debate over the preseason all-honors lists, and the preseason All-PAC-12 lists have been released for four teams. Of those four teams, eight Arizona State Sun Devils football stars made the lists. Of them, return specialist DJ Taylor made both First-Team and Second-Team as a punt returner and kick returner, respectively (Taylor was the only First-Team selection for the Arizona State Sun Devils football program). The Second-Team selections included running back Xazavien Valladay, offensive lineman LaDarius Henderson, and linebacker Merlin Robertson. The Third-Team had offensive lineman Ben Scott and linebacker Kyle Soelle. And finally, Fourth-Team had defensive lineman Nesta Jade-Silvera and safety Khoury Bethley. Host Richie Bradshaw gives his thoughts on these eight Arizona Stae Sun Devils football stars and their respective rankings on the preseason All-PAC-12 lists, plus seven more players who could surprise and make waves in 2022.

If it's not one thing it's another for the Arizona State University Sun Devils' sports programs. We know everything that has been going on with the Arizona State Sun Devils football program between the underachieving era that Herm Edwards has rushed in as well as the NCAA COVID-19 violations that led to the departure of coaches like Zak Hill and Antonio Pierce, as well as several key players such as Jayden Daniels, Jermayne Lole, Eric Gentry, Ricky Pearsall, and others. The basketball program has underachieved even by Arizona State Sun Devils basketball standards under Bobby Hurley. The Arizona State Sun Devils volleyball team has had just one winning season since Jason Watson departed for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks back in 2016. Arizona State Sun Devils baseball went through major growing pains in its first season under Willie Bloomquist after trying to bring ASU back to prominence in college baseball. And now Arizona State Sun Devils softball lost head coach Trisha Ford to the Texas A&M Aggies softball program following a widely successful six seasons with the Sun Devils and will likely take several key players from an Arizona State Sun Devils softball program that barely missed the college softball World Series tournament. All of this has happened under the watchful eye of Arizona State University Sun Devils' athletic director Ray Anderson. At what point do we begin to set his metaphorical seat on fire for the ridiculous underachievement that Arizona State Sun Devils sports have had in his tenure dating back to 2014? Host Richie Bradshaw has a heartfelt conversation about his thoughts on Arizona State Sun Devils softball's loss of Trisha Ford and how this is continuing to affect Ray Anderson's status with Arizona State University on this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.

The College Football Hall of Fame needs to get some more Arizona Stae Sun Devils football stars in their ranks! There have been TONS of Sun Devils from the 2000s onward who deserve the honor from the seemingly undeniable locks like Terrell Suggs, Derek Hagan, and Zane Gonzalez to other very deserving players such as Will Sutton and N'Keal Harry. Host Richie Bradshaw bangs his fist on the table for these guys, as well as some other studs who have a decent argument for the hall, as well.

With the recent release of the 2023 College Football Hall of Fame ballot, host Richie Bradshaw takes a look at former Arizona State Sun Devils who are (somehow) not in the Hall of Fame. There are a handful of guys who aren't currently in there that are a bit of surprise, such as Eric Allen, Darren Woodson, Shante Carver, Jim Jeffcoat, and so many others, but none as surprising as the two we talk about at the end of the podcast. Curious who they all are? Check out this edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast and see for yourself!

The 2023 College Football Hall of Fame ballot has been released and the PAC-12 appears to be very well represented this year with tons of heavy-hitting rockstars like Reggie Bush, Marshawn Lynch, and Ron Rivera returning to the ballot and guys like LaMichael James, Haloti Ngata, Ryan leaf, and others making their appearance on the ballot for the first time. more importantly, two Arizona State Sun Devils football legends return to the ballot in the formers of head coach Daryl Rodgers and kicker Luis Zendejas. Will this be the year these guys finally get into college football's most prestigious honor? Host Richie Bradshaw discusses his thoughts on all these PAC-12 legends on a Tuesday edition of the Locked On Sun Devils podcast.

After discussing the confidence level host Richie Bradshaw has in the Arizona State Sun Devils football offense yesterday, we turn our attention to the defensive side of the ball. Is this a unit that deserves to be as coveted as its 2021 counterparts? With so many changes due to NFL departures and transfers, there will certainly be a lot of proving to do to the unit, but with a lot of potential and high-upside guys like Travez Moore, BJ Green, Chris Edmonds, and Khoury Bethley, maybe we can find some solace in the thought of these guys proving themselves to be key contributors for the 2022 season.
