Locked On Suns - Daily Podcast On The Phoenix Suns

On today’s episode of Locked On Suns, we recapped the Suns’ 114-97 loss to the Utah Jazz live from Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Devin Booker chipped in 27 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists on 9-for-20 shooting, but Phoenix’s first ever No. 1 overall pick was flummoxed by Rudy Gobert. Deandre Ayton ended his night with career-lows in points and field goal percentage as Richuan Holmes outplayed him.

Also, what should we make of Josh Jackson? Some games he’s on, some games he’s not. Another example popped up for Jackson tonight, and is it possible his role is reduced once T.J. Warren returns?

We break down all the hot topics as the Suns now fall to 16-53 on the season.

We are joined by J. Kyle Mann of The Dime Drop to discuss his thoughts on Josh Jackson, Deandre Ayton and the rest of the Suns.

A bit of a longer episode this time but we know you will all enjoy this one!

We also discuss Ja Morant, who Kyle saw in-person at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament last weekend and how he might fit in Phoenix.

Finally, some rapid fire discussion on the broader NBA to close the show.

Before diving deep on the Suns’ big win over Golden State, we quickly talk about what went wrong in Portland and how Phoenix was able to overcome a weird night to come away with a huge victory on the second night of a back-to-back in Oakland.

It was Devin Booker’s night on Sunday, as the Suns’ star put together the best all-around performance of his career, scoring 37 points and notching 11 assists, including a 15 straight points at one point midway through the final period.

Plus, he’s getting support from up and down the roster, from Kelly Oubre Jr. to Tyler Johnson. We finish by discussing what these wins say about Oubre’s impact, Igor Kokoskov’s coaching and how the Suns can keep it up heading into the easiest portion of their schedule.

Continuing with our Suns comparisons series, we bring on Tony East of Locked On Pacers to discuss the early years of Paul George’s career, how he developed as a shooter and playmaker and what the keys were to his development.

Bridges already looks like a solid shooter and team defender, but Tony shares some ways that George was able to develop physically and with the ball in his hands to grow into the MVP candidate we’re seeing this year.

We comb through the numbers for the Suns as a whole as well as the key performers from the Suns’ recent winning ways, including their three-game win streak and dating all the way back to last Monday’s win in Miami.

Phoenix is in the top ten in both offensive and defensive efficiency the past five contests and Devin Booker is a huge reason why.

Plus, co-stars Kelly Oubre Jr. and Deandre Ayton are rounding into form, and Tyler Johnson is proving how much this team needed another legitimate playmaker all along.

On today’s episode of Locked On Suns live from Talking Stick Resort Arena, we recapped the Suns’ victory over the Knicks. Devin Booker went for a season-high 41 points, which is the most he’s also ever scored in a home game.

Also, Kelly Oubre Jr. continues to blossom in Phoenix with another solid secondary performance adding much-needed energy on both ends of the floor.

Yes, the Suns are going streaking. Three straight wins. Four wins in their last five games.

We break down the damning story from ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz about the Suns’ “messy and dysfunctional” front office, how it tracks with our observations, and what it means for the Suns going forward.

Then, we close the show by crisscrossing through a mock draft after a wild Tankathon simulation pushed the Suns down to the sixth pick and made us pitch a trade with the Pelicans for the pick.

Wow, what a statement that was. The Phoenix Suns defeated the best team in the NBA, becoming the first team to do so twice this season. That’s right, the Suns have swept the Milwaukee Bucks.

We recap the action live from Talking Stick Resort Arena as Phoenix won 114-105 behind career nights from Kelly Oubre Jr. and Deandre Ayton while Devin Booker was his usual self as well. The Suns also deployed a great defensive game plan against one of the league’s best as Booker threw praise in the locker room to former Bucks interim head coach Joe Prunty.

Dare we say are these Suns possibly about to turn a corner with the lowly Knicks coming to town on Wednesday?

On today’s episode live from Talking Stick Resort Arena, we recap the Suns’ stunning victory over the Lakers. Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker combined for 51 points while also reviving solid outings from Kelly Oubre Jr., Mikal Bridges and Josh Jackson.

LeBron James nearly put up a triple-double, but Ayton’s solid defense rounded out one of his best all-around performances of the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Ayton also netted a career-high in free throw attempts (10-for-14), which could be a sign of things to come.

We bring on one of the best Pelicans writers around, Shamit Dua, to discuss the first few years of Anthony Davis’ career and how New Orleans developed him into the player he is today.

We also touch on what Suns fans can expect in the Friday matchup between these two teams amid the ongoing trade demand drama with Davis and finish up with a discussion of Jrue Holiday and his fit in Phoenix should he become available this summer.
