The Wolves are already over the salary cap, but they have some room before hitting the dreaded luxury tax. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) explains why it may be a mistake to stretch the budget to bring back both free agents, and why there could be two clearly differing macro paths for the Timberwolves to consider this offseason -- and the Karl-Anthony Towns trade question is certainly part of the calculus.

Naz Reid had something of a breakout season for the Minnesota Timberwolves, but he's now an unrestricted free agent. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) explains why it seems unlikely that Naz will return to the Wolves, starting with the amount of money he's reportedly seeking on the open market. Plus, if the Wolves entertain the idea of trading Karl-Anthony Towns, would Reid be a suitable semi-replacement at a much lower cost?

Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) breaks down the three worst and most disappointing things about the Wolves' 2022-23 campaign.

Karl-Anthony Towns missed 52 consecutive games in the middle of the 2022-23 NBA season due to a calf strain, putting a massive damper on his season and a ceiling on what the new-look Minnesota Timberwolves could do in their first year with Rudy Gobert. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) dives into the numbers to try to decipher what happened, and if a bounce-back is in the cards in 2023-24 for KAT and the Wolves.
