In this episode, we welcomed Skuff Micksun into the studio for an extended session (honest S/O to the band rehearsing next door that caused us to delay the recording, because we got to kick it with him for most of the day).

We sat down and covered stories including haunted houses and dental work (one and the same??), and on a more serious note his artistic background and how his poetry turned into lyricism. We also get deep on that fact that life is a comedy. Sometimes a dark one, but still a comedy nonetheless. We’re cheers’ing to feeling New Years-y and looking forward to the “things we’ve always said”.

Thank you, Skuff Micksun for joining us in the studio! Be on the looking for new music coming soon and make sure to follow him to stay up to date on all his art forms, including a new silly single, MY ROBOT NEIGHBOR!

Today's episode is coming to you a little different but for great reasons. We have upped our podcasting game big time with some more visual elements (check out our YouTube) and an amazing technician working  behind the scenes, Danna O'Connor of Post Saga. To kick it off in this new realm, we were joined in the LG Studios by Marcus Smith and The Rapscallions and we also spill our drinks twice (and a third time before we even started recording).

Marcus Smith aka The Sandwich King of Cleveland has been involved in the local music scene for quite some time, and is adored by many people in the city. We show a lot of love to some mutual friends between us and discuss the success of his most recent full length album, Unique Mélange (one song from which has an amazing story involving blowing Ben Folds's mind). We also may have just saved Rock N Roll??

Of course, it's not a true Marcus Smith episode if we don't get into a discussion about sandwiches (Urban Twine - if you're listening, please bring back the Marcus Smith). This episode is completely out of control from start to finish and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Thanks, again, Marcus and The rapSCALLIONS!

This week we welcomed Rico Blu into the studio, as we were able to catch him over the weekend while he was in CLE! We kicked off his first podcast interview with the most important sports topic of conversation (The Superbowl) that we in fact did not watch. On a more serious note, we got to chat about starting in the Cleveland music scene and how it compares to Pittsburgh, where he resides now.  We also celebrated Rico turning 27, and share some of our favorite birthday memories.

Fu*k the chapter, we're opening up a new book. Rico shared with us his new woman and children streetwear collection that he'll be releasing called CLAY, (carry love around you)! Make sure to check out his website to see what he's already released because the merch is FIRE. (Please peep the track pants.) And lastly, you'll have to listen to this episode to hear what his oh so secret talent is.

Thank you, Rico Blue, for joining us in the studio!  Follow him on Instagram to keep up with everything he's up to!

Today we said Howdy Doody to Mighty Misc - originally hailing from Portland, he made a stop in Boston and is now living that Cleveland life. In this episode, we chat about the music scenes in these cities and how they compare to Cleveland, the nostalgia of old cartoons and what our ideal superpowers would be. We also created a new segment called, "Jurbz shows us something weird on YouTube"...so stick around for that.

You don't want to MISC this episode - Mighty Misc does a killer performance with tracks from his December album "Boom Bap Derby" and some unreleased songs that may be on his next album "Malevolent Kitchen" (anticipated to drop this summer!).

Thanks again, Mighty Misc! Check out his stuff here, follow him on Twitch, and make sure to follow him on IG to keep up with the latest!

In this episode, we sat down with Mike Brown, Prince Tucker, and George Chong AKA Miguel Cafe! We discussed only the most important topics including the correct spelling to the word TASTEY, and learned that cafe is Spanish for brown.

Miguel Cafe will also be heading to The Big Apple (NYC) to work with Least of All Sound Recordings where they will be recording direct to 7" vinyls. Something super cool and make sure you pre-order a special edition vinyl for yourself! Catch them at their next show (it's FREE!) at Dunlaps 2/15!

Thank you, Miguel Cafe, for joining us in the studio!  Follow them on Instagram to keep up to date with her latest!

We welcomed Abstract Sounds to the studio at the end of the year, closing it off with one of the largest bands we've had on to date AND a genre we haven't touched yet - Jazz! Well, with Abstract Sounds, it's a bit of Jazz, R&B, Gospel, and Jam. In this interview, we hear about what its like to be such a versatile group, composing jazz versus writing songs, and Surviving Loveland: a docuseries in the making.

Abstract Sounds is bringing the dance element back to jazz music and just this past year started releasing their own tracks. Hailstorm and Ohio Nights are two singles that you can hear right now, and there are more on the way! We also have a moment for Bandcamp, the unsung hero for underground musicians. We know we are preaching to the choir, but please support your artists however you can!

Thank you, Abstract Sounds, for your powerful insight and incredible performance! Follow them on Facebook and Instagram to stay in the know and catch them at upcoming events!

After we took a nice 2 week break over the holidays, we broke the studio back in with the incredibly talented Jinari Kemet  (Jinanar to us and US ONLY)  with his first interview ever. Listen in to hear the inside scoop on how he came up with his stage name and brand presence, his musical background, how we became friends, successes from 2023 and what we are ~manifesting~ for 2024.

Jinari's upcoming album 'The Othercide' is set to release this weekend (or it's already out depending on when you're listening to this) and is a complex story that has layers, folks. You're going to want to listen and then immediately re-listen to pick up on the undertones here.

If you're reading this as this episode comes out, get yourself tickets to his album release show at The Beachland Tavern Friday, January 26th featuring local hip hop artists accompanied by their bands. It'll be an amazing time!

Follow Jinari on Instagram and Facebook, and stream his music on all platforms under Jinari Kemet.

Thank you, Jinari for your time and awesome performance, and don't forget to stream 'The Othercide', out 1/26/24!

Our first musical artist episode of the year is with Grace Sullivan aka Wish Queen, who just dropped her debut album 'Saturnalia' at the end of October and is now traveling out of state to further promote the album! The story behind what Saturnalia is and how she has strategically planned her actions to get the most out of her life based on her birth chart is something truly amazing. As fans of astrology and tarot ourselves, we ask a ton of questions as it relates to her personally, as an artist, and with an identical birth chart to Vince Vaughn. We also chat about Cleveland's Sofar Sounds events and for the first time ever (shockingly) we do some on-air tarot!

Thank you, Wish Queen, for making our wishes come true today! Check out 'Saturnalia' on all streaming platforms now, and on Instagram to keep up to date with her latest!

Welcome to Season 4 of LG! We kick things off by chatting with our friend Joe Burdon, host of the Guiltless Podcast. No live music (but possibly interpretive dance?) in this episode, but tons of great stories from the podcasters' perspectives including live shows, challenges we've faced, ideas we've toyed with, and a tangent about chicken. From his many interviews with tons of creatives, businesses, and just interesting people in the Cleveland area, Joe has incredible insight and hilarious stories that we think you're really going to love, including advice for first time interviewees and just how the human experience is about living guiltlessly, enjoying what you do!

Check out our episode with him on his show and the rest of them on all streaming platforms, and if you're free 2/10/24 get yourself a ticket to the next live show at Musica in Akron! Be sure to follow him on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on the latest.

Thank you, Joe, for an awesome time and great laughs!

Friends, its been such a wonderful year. Since April, we moved into our studio, recorded 30 episodes with local artists, attended our first festivals, secured our first sponsor, and hosted our first live show event! But, this is all just the groundwork needed to make next year an even bigger and better year! In true end of the year fashion, we decided to sit down together and reflect over this past year - some of our favorite memories, performances and conversations. We have some hard hitting questions for each other that bring up notable topics such as pizza toppings and Music League, BUT most importantly we talk about the excitement surrounding next year, and while this is a sneak peak, we cannot wait to share more with you!

Thanks to everyone who has listened this year or supported in any way, sharing their thoughts and suggestions with us, and/or were featured on an episode this year!
