From enduring 13 years of relentless bullying to shining on Hollywood’s red carpet, Tensie’s story is a powerful testament to resilience and the triumph of the human spirit.Tensie is from Louisburg, North Carolina, USA and graduated from North Carolina State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication—Media concentration—and a minor in Psychology, and from the University of Southern California in 2014 with a Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs. Tensie worked for the USC Black Alumni Association for seven years and served as Manager, Assistant Director, and Associate Director, respectively. She loved working with students and had a passion for helping them achieve their academic and career goals. She directed the Legacy through Leadership Mentoring Program and formed partnerships with various organisations for students to interns. Tensie is author of her Amazon Bestselling memoir, BULLIED From Terror to Triumph, My Survival Story, where she shares her story of overcoming bullying and how she turned her negative experiences into positive ones. Her book has been endorsed by celebrities such as Ms. Tina Knowles Lawson, DeVon Franklin, and Jayne Kennedy. Tensie is a former Hollywood red- carpet host and has interviewed hundreds of celebrities at their homes, galas, charity functions, community service events, award shows, and film festivals. Tensie has attended the Oscars, Emmys, People’s Choice Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Grammys, BET Awards, and more. One of Tensie’s favourite quotes is by Mahatma Gandhi: “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” Tensie has travelled across the United States and world making presentations and speeches since the age of three. Tensie has played the piano nationally and internationally, including Europe, Africa, and Cuba. Tensie’s hobbies include reading, writing, singing, playing the piano and trumpet, volunteering, mentoring young people, and traveling. She has travelled to 36 countries and 6 continents. One of her most prized moments is meeting and taking a selfie with Oprah Winfrey.
