Colossians 1:18 - The supremacy of Christ

John 9 - Are we willing for a miracle to happen ? Or will we remain in the dark ? Looking at a man who was willing to let Jesus restore his sight through faith.

Acts 9:10-31 - 1. Saul had a new reverence for Jesus

2 Saul had a new relationship with the church

3. Saul Han a new responsibility to the world.

Acts 9:1-9 - In some ways Saul's conversion was a unique event but his conversion story contains many common threads which show us what happens when someone is converted to Christ. How does someone become a follower of Christ?

1. It's as a result of God's sovereign grace

2. It's when he meets the real Jesus- and so sees Jesus for who He is and sees himself for who he is.

3. It's when he surrenders to Jesus in faith and repentance.

Acts 9:1-19 - 1. It is necessary for obedience to Christ.

2. It gives opportunity for believers to publicly declare allegiance to Christ.

3. It reminds us of the work of Christ for us and in us.

John 6:16-21 - When Jesus fed the 5000 (the beginning of chapter 6) he showed the disciples and us that we can do amazing things with Jesus. In this story we see that the disciples missed the fact that we need Jesus for everything in life, even (or perhaps especially) when we think we are in control.
