I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Tuesday morning, the 23rd of January, 2024, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.  

We start in 1 Peter 3:22:

"…Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him." 

Wow! Now that is something to look forward to - angels, authorities, powers submitted to our beloved Jesus, and more than that - He is seated at the right hand of our Heavenly Father. It doesn't get bigger than that, does it? You know, we get let down so often with worldly things; well, I do anyway. We get the big build-up to the World Cup Final - and it is, its amazing, its awesome, it comes, but it goes, it's finished. We look forward to some event, it happens. Let's think about Neil Armstrong walking on the moon. I remember that day very clearly, "One step for man and one giant step for mankind." What a day that was! I came back from Israel at the end of last year, we took over 300 pilgrims to the Promised Land, and I want to tell you something, we had a beautiful meeting on the southern steps of where the old, former temple was situated, we had a praise and worship evening that I will never forget. We were told that one of the astronauts, with a guide, walked up those very steps that we sat on, the ones that Jesus used to go up to worship in the temple and to teach the people. He said to the guide, "Walking on the moon was nothing when compared to walking up these very steps that the Lord Jesus Christ's feet went up." He said, "There is no comparison."

Well, we need to look up because our best days are still coming. The Lord Jesus Christ has warned us very clearly that when we see all the signs that are happening in the world at the moment, in Luke 21:28, He says: 

"Now when these things begin to happen, (and they are happening), look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near." 

The Lord is coming very soon. Now that's something to look forward to.
