Lords of the Sith Podcast

Denise and Mary make predictions for The Rise of Skywalker, comment on the recently released soundtrack for consideration and also comment on the leaks:

We discuss:

- Will Kylo live in The Rise of Skywalker?

- Will there be romantic Reylo?

- Is Rey a Palpatine?

- What's going to happen to Finn?

- What about Rose?

- Is Jannah Finn's sister? Lando's daughter?

- What's going to happen to Poe?

- What's going to happen to Hux?

-We also comment on Lando, C3-PO, Luke, and Leia.

We comment on the (lack of) reliability of the leaks, analyze what we have so far, and talk about or wishes, fears, and predictions.

Denise and Mary comment on more news and updates now that we're heading to The Rise of Skywalker.

This episode is all about how Reylo-Friendly the marketing has been!

From special hashtags #ReyandKylo #KyloandRey in several languages, to the word Reylo being mentioned in interviews and articles (without mocking!!!), the idea of a possible romantic connection between Kylo and Rey has been fully integrated to the marketing campaign for Episode IX, as we're closing the Sequel Trilogy and the Skywalker saga.

We comment on what this strategy means for the movie and for us, Star Wars fans, we make predictions and we gush. #reylo #theRiseofSkywalker

So much Reylo on the Marketing for TROS!

In this episode, we comment on some recent interviews and other Reylo related news that hint strongly that The Rise of Skywalker will have a satisfying conclusion for Rey and Kylo's arc.

We start by commenting on Empire Mag's exclusive, beautiful cover and its symbolism. We comment on a German poster for Episode IX, where Kylo is strategically placed near Rey's... Anyway.

We analyze recent TV spots. We also comment how related material is hinting very strongly at Bendemption, and what so much effort into comvincing people of Kylo's redeemability means for TROS.

We also comment on Star Wars and the Mandalorian, and what the Star Wars overload might mean in terms of strategy.

We conclude with some final thoughts about the fandom and our very happy predictions for the conclusion of the Sequel Trilogy.

In this video, Denise comments about the leaked plot of Episode IX and why some details in it don't make sense.

If you haven't read the Episode IX leaks, don't listen to this episode, as it contains possible spoilers.

We comment on Ben Solo/ Kylo Ren's fate, and how falling down "never to be seen again" does not make sense in terms of the character's arc or according to common scriptwriting structures. We mention some material from the comics, and how they are prepping the Star Wars Fandom for a bigger redemption arc than Vader's quick turn before death and what it means for the movie and in relation to this Episode IX leaked plot and the leaked ending for The Rise of Skywalker.

We also comment on how Lucasfilm might want to hide their main plot points and real ending, why it makes sense from a storytelling perspective, and why it makes sense that this ending might not have leaked from a production perspective.

We also look at some other plot points in the leaks, and comment on the things that don't seem to make much sense, such as Rey Skywalker,

Finally, we comment how Star Wars is a family saga, and how it needs to continue. We comment about Reylo and Bendemption.

The comments are mostly on Jedi Praxis leaks on Reddit. They can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsLeaks/comments/dg0mw6/the_rise_of_skywalker_reshoots_and_edits_story/ If you haven't seen them, proceed with care, as this leaked plot sounds horrible and has been making a lot of people worried about Episode IX

The awesome and reylostatic TROS trailer just came out, and that's what Lee, Mary, and Denise are talking about!

We talk about our general impressions of the trailer, than analyze it shot by shot.

We comment how neat it is to see Rey confident and badass.

Lando is there, and so is the Tantive IV, and so is the Ghost, and so many Star Wars ships! It's great to see such a lovely nod to the Star Wars fandom!

Poe is looking fabulous, and so is Finn!

Rose is cute as always.

Kylo coming out of the mist and saying wedding vows to Rey is an amazing shot! The Reylo in this trailer is not subtle, and it shows that it's not the mystery box.

We love seeing Janna, too.

And plus there's the C3P0 emotional scene...

We comment on Rey and Kylo, horses in space, and all this stuff.

We also comment on the poster and have some non-spoilery comments on the leaks.

Lots of stuff to unpack, laugh, and celebrate together.

Episode IX is looking exciting, guys!

In a chill conversation, Denise and Mary talk about the recent Empire Magazine coverage and more Reylostatic news.

The interview with JJ Abrams and Chris Terrio mentions the connection between Rey and Kylo, and it's very interesting for our side of the fandom.

We also have a recent novel excerpt and more cool news.

We also discuss some recent "leaks" about The Rise of Skywalker.

Dark Rey, Imperial destroyers, Finn and Jannah, Leia, Kylo versus Rey, Palpatine as the villain... So many awesome things about The Rise of Skywalker at D-23!

We debate theories about the images we saw, the poster with its clear meaning and Palpatine's role, and plus we speculate on the direction of Episode IX. Oh, we also gush about the recent wave of Reylopositivity on social media! Lots of cool stuff!

Contents:

00:00 Intro and general impressions

2:52 Dark Rey! Yeah, we also wanted to talk about it. Is it a vision, a test, what's going on? We debate some theories.

8:52 Bastila and Revan: could Rey and Kylo's plot have a similar turn, with Rey going to the dark side?

11:00 Rey and her arc, and how it can relate to Kylo, how she needs to save herself, etc.

14:12 Vader's helmet is back! We think it's super significant.

21:00 What a gorgeous poster!

26:24 Social media has been super #reylo positive!

29:32 They're honoring the prequels and it's a great sign!

35:04 Leia! Could she be training Rey?

36:00 So. Many. Imperial destroyers!

37:04 Will the First Order split? What can it mean for Kylo's arc and his redemption? What about the Sith troopers?

42:24 More Leia. How will they handle

43:03 Finn and Jannah are looking awesome. We speculate on whether they are siblings and on Finn's arc.

45:44 Vader's breathing is in the trailer. We talk about Vader's important for Kylo Ren and for the sequel trilogy, and speculate on what his presence in this teaser means.

49:28 JJ Abrams is ticking the right boxes to get us excited for Episode IX

50:00 C3PO what's happening to him?

51:34 What about R2D2? Is there a special plot for Artoo?

52:58 conclusion, final thoughts, super thanks!

The Rise of Kylo Ren is coming in December, a bit before The Rise of Skywalker. Hum... That got us thinking.

In this video, we comment on the announcement of a Marvel comics series about Kylo Ren by Charles Soule. It's about time! Kylo deserves some attention and backstory.

We speculate on what we might see, including Knights of Ren, some of Kylo's and Ben Solo's past, perhaps his relationship with Luke, etc.

We also comment on the timing of this release and what it means for the Sequel Trilogy.

And of course, we speculate how the comics relate to Rey and Kylo's mysterious connection and Reylo.

In this episode, we comment on the writing of Benioff and Weiss, some differences from Game of Thrones to the books A Song of Ice and Fire, and what went wrong with season 8.

We comment how some character arcs suffered since D&D no longer had material from George RR Martin to adapt, and how some choices culminated in this last season of GOT.

Contents:

00:00 Intro and comments on writing, D&D, and more.

4:20 Jaime Lannister: The former villain we came to love and his abrupt arc conclusion.

14:00 Arya: Differences from the books and her ending as Arya the Explorer

16:50 The killing of the Night King: What's wrong with Arya doing it?

18:15 More on Arya Stark

20:30 On Ned Stark's death and how it's different from some shocks in the series since season 5.

23:25 Jon Snow: Our beloved knows-nothing hero and what happened to his arc. From Night's Watch youngest commander to "she's my queen" sayer.

30:10 Tyrion Lannister: The awesome, smart, and witty Lannister. Or is he still?

34:40 Sansa Stark: how her arc differs from GRRM's work and more comments on the character

40:00 Dany, or Daenerys Targaryen: how she went mad in a snap, comments on her arc, the idea of white saviour, and comments on the choices in the series.

50:15 More issues with the killing of the Night King. How the ASOIAF and GOT lore wasn't used, how Bran's arc and his connection with the three-eyed raven didn't come to its full potential, and more.

56:36 Things we Liked in Game of Thrones. Yes! Gasp, they exist. Lots of really cool stuff.

59:30 More comments lore, Jon's Targaryen heritage not being relevant, D&D and how we admire them as producers and directors but not as writers, and what we hope for Star Wars.
