In this episode of Writing Homebrew, we dive into the Adeptus Astartes and explore how to build a Chapter from the ground up, from its founding, gene-seed and homeworld to recruitment, culture, beliefs, organization, combat doctrine, wargear, enemies and history. We’ll look at what makes a Chapter unique without breaking the setting, which rules are worth bending, which ones are better left alone, and some of the common mistakes that can turn a cool idea into lore that just doesn’t quite fit. Whether you’re creating your first Chapter or trying to take an old one and make it feel more complete, this episode is all about building Space Marines with a history, identity and reason for being.Lorehammer Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/c/lorehammer/membershipOne Time Donationshttps://paypal.me/lorehammerpodcastLink to all Linkshttps://linktr.ee/Lorehammer40kAstartes Chapter Builderhttps://docs.google.com/document/d/1KP48INVRPu0Khfzhnu_sTenaRijuEJ5aLul5TKTOdJk/edit?usp=sharing

From the thunder of war drums and chanting cults to the brutal soundtracks that inspire the armies of the 41st Millennium, music has always been part of Warhammer 40,000. In this episode of Lorehammer, we are joined by the real-life band Stellar Rot to talk about the connection between music and 40K, the sounds and influences that shape the hobby and what it is like creating heavy music in a universe built on war, blood and endless darkness. Expect plenty of talk about 40K, metal and the strange place where the two collide.Listen to and Support Stellar RotInstagram & Tik Tok: @stellar_rot_officalUS and Canada Pre-Orders and Merch: https://stellarrot.bandcamp.com/EU and Global Shipping (ex-US/CA): https://hypnoticdirgerecords.bandcamp.com/album/where-the-formless-ones-dwell

From bizarre predators and ancient bio-constructs to isolated organisms shaped by worlds far beyond the reach of the Great Devourer, these creatures reveal just how vast and adaptable Tyranid life truly is. Some may be lost branches of the swarm, others evolutionary dead ends, and a few may be something far stranger. Together, they offer a glimpse into the countless forms the Tyranids have created, consumed, abandoned, and perhaps hidden away within their vast genetic memory.Lorehammer Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/c/lorehammer/membershipOne Time Donationshttps://paypal.me/lorehammerpodcastLink to all Linkshttps://linktr.ee/Lorehammer40k

This episode traces the long, meandering curriculum vitae of Trazyn the Infinite: Necrontyr archivist turned deathless curator, hoarder of Primarch clones and captured saints, occasional and entirely self-interested savior of the Imperium, and perennial loser of the Spear of Vulkan. We examine his uneasy rivalry with the Cryptek Orikan, his brief and uncharacteristic heroism at the Fall of Cadia, and the fate of at least one Inquisitor who went looking for answers and left with considerably less than she arrived with. Expect artifacts of dubious provenance, memories of even more dubious reliability, and a great many things that were, at some point, alive.Lorehammer Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/c/lorehammer/membershipOne Time Donationshttps://paypal.me/lorehammerpodcastLink to all Linkshttps://linktr.ee/Lorehammer40k

He is a screaming, blood-soaked nightmare of saws, syringes, bionics, and increasingly questionable medical decisions, a Dok who has turned surgery into an art form and the Ork body into his personal workshop. From fitting Ghazghkull with the adamantium skull that helped shape the greatest WAAAGH! of the age, to surviving his own attempted murder and emerging completely insane, Grotsnik has spent his long career proving that death is merely another medical complication. He has rebuilt bodies, transplanted brains, created Cyborks, experimented with Squigs, and apparently learned enough about Ork reincarnation to drag the dead back into the world. In this episode, we descend into the operating theatre of one of the galaxy's most grotesque, enthusiastic, and genuinely terrifying Painboyz, Mad Dok Grotsnik.Lorehammer Patreonhttps://www.patreon.com/c/lorehammer/membershipOne Time Donationshttps://paypal.me/lorehammerpodcastLink to all Linkshttps://linktr.ee/Lorehammer40k
